Jedi complain alot. Since the last few publishes Jedi are still butt hurt that there healing got nurfed and ours got love. They have also developed a serious envy issue with doctors just cause doctors can heal better than Jedi.

I think the misnomer is that Jedi should be better at everything than every class. In total they are better but there individual powers might not be as powerfull as the class that has a mirroring power. So while Jedi can not heal as well as Doctors they can cloak while a doctor has to learn two entire profession trees (Ranger) to even get a similar power. Thats just an example but I think folks can get my point.

A class that can heal, speed run, do massive amounts of damage, cure effects, buff itself, replen its prime stat pool, and has high survivability should not complain when they are not master of all aspects. Seems a Jedi is a Jack of all Trades and only master of a few which is better than most elite professions which is Master of 2 and dont even have a clue about the other trades.

Actually a jedi has to chose between all of those, a jedi cant do massive amounts of damage, have high survivability, cloak, heal, run and so on, its a template issue, jedi is 5 proffessions and you can get 2.5 out of 5 trees at max. I for one dont have cloak, i can pick it up, but il have to give something up like healing, defence or offence. So for a jedi to be able to heal and cloak he would need both 4-x-x-x healer and x-4-x-x powers, but still wouldnt be equal as a healer to a doctor or CM.

The discussion here is that with Doc speed buffs being changed from +40 to +25, should the CM debuff on the same stat be kept -40? Force speed used to be +25 so it never completely canceled out the CM debuff only helped somewhat counteract it.

I for one dont think the debuff is overpowered, the commando/smuggler combo and aoe lowblow on the other hand.....

Still an apples to oranges comparison.... It's not a simple matter of a haste vs a slow. One modifies weapon speed, the others modify combat speed. They didn't just cancel out before the "nerf". They modified different things, and thyroid rupture (as well as low blow) makes FAR less difference than you seem to think. It's not like a slow in Everquest... And it's not a 40% slow, it's a 40 point modifier to weapon speed. Huge difference.

i understand the sentiment in having a combat attack debuff being a little more than a non combat buff, however having a debuff that is TWICE as powerful as the possible buffs is absolutely unbalancing no matter how you look at it (-40 essentially brings a MLS down to 0200 LS). Make it -25 and hell i could give a crap about it but -40 is WAAAAY to high.

W TF? -40 Takes MLS down to more than a 4444 Saber person. At least think before posting.

Did you even read my post, thyroid rupture only hurts low speed templates... a MLS is not gonna suffer much at all! Combat Haste buffs on the other hand help not only attacks but also heals and other actions.... even with the combat haste reduction, you guys are probably still better off!

Bring back the CU or at least Pre-CU... its better that this MMO Third Person Shooter bullcrap

Wow, you mean now if I run into a fully buffed Jedi and I use Thyroid Rupture they will actually go to normal speed?

And If I somehow catch a jedi that isn't hopped up on doc buffs I actually get to lower their speed in comabt instead of just bringing them down a tiny bit???

I love this...My debuff is more than a reset!! Its actually a debuff.

Oh, jedi....Why should my debuff not affect you?

Actually, Thyroid is less of a reset, with forcespeed and thyroid applied, the Jedi still hits faster than normal.

Smuggler's Low Blow has a combat speed debuff of -40 also. I tested this yesterday and the day before on a snake and a piket, and both tests showed that it cut a target's speed by no more than 25%.

A 25% debuff is FAR, FAR from inbalanced. Perhaps this is the intelligent post you were looking for?

There is no need to nerf this skill for Combat Medics OR Smugglers, and losing another working/useful skill due to someone crying for a nerf out of anger/spite/frustration/upset/hatred/etc.would be a poor move, indeed.

I've always believed that actions that need to be applied while in combat should have more of an effect then actions applied outside of combat.

Since buffs can be applied while at peace with ease and a relative long duration it is justified that CM De-buffs can overpower doctor buffs.

As a master doctor, I actually agree with that.

Just using thyroid rupture on a speed buffed person now in the current patch only cancels out their speed buff, basically. Makes them fight as if they were unbuffed. No matter what a de-buff should be just that, a De-Buff, and should make you fight at less than 100% efficiency.
