Thread: Thyroid rupture: -40.00 combat speed, unbalanced
I cannot believe a full template Jedi would complain that CM's need to be nerfed. What are the chances, with the BH terminal Nerfs that a FT Jedi is gonna lose in PvP to non Jedi? It seems to me that whenever a Skill is found that makes Jedi players fell mildly at risk, they cry for a nerf. Sadly, they often get it. I'm sorry you cant solo Krayt Dragons anymore. This isnt my fault. Please quit trying to dominate the game. We aren'tallpower hungry. Some of us just want a chance to experiance the Star Wars Legacy in an undecimated timeline. Wasn't there a Purge? Palpatine must be the most incompetant Sith Lord in all the mythology. You should be proud of your dedication and focus. But don't elevate yourselves on the backs of the non-Jedi classes.
Besides, dont you have your own forums in here somewhere?
Smuggler's Low Blow is another neg 40 so stacked with the CM debuff you can really give someone a bad day.
I say leave CM's alone. Just because you got owned by one doesn't mean they need to be nerfed.

Jedi complain alot. Since the last few publishes Jedi are still butt hurt that there healing got nurfed and ours got love. They have also developed a serious envy issue with doctors just cause doctors can heal better than Jedi.
I think the misnomer is that Jedi should be better at everything than every class. In total they are better but there individual powers might not be as powerfull as the class that has a mirroring power. So while Jedi can not heal as well as Doctors they can cloak while a doctor has to learn two entire profession trees (Ranger) to even get a similar power. Thats just an example but I think folks can get my point.
A class that can heal, speed run, do massive amounts of damage, cure effects, buff itself, replen its prime stat pool, and has high survivability should not complain when they are not master of all aspects. Seems a Jedi is a Jack of all Trades and only master of a few which is better than most elite professions which is Master of 2 and dont even have a clue about the other trades.

No, it doesn't stack any more. That was the orginal "problem".
I think the thyroid rupture should be brought down to -30 so that it's still more than the doctor buff, but more in line with the new speed buff values.
Yes, I am a full template jedi, no I'm not calling for nerfs. My alt is a CM and I just don't think it's right that SOE changes one half of an equation but not the other.
interesting... since i'm not on TS i'm just gonna have to wait till it goes live to test.... but if they DON'T stack... then maybe....
oh and WTH is this speed buff food you guys speak of?

Very, very well said.

Smugglers got enough love already.
I can't decide if this is the most clueless statement I have ever heard or the least intelligent. But, I have a great feeling it is a disturbing combination of both.

On a somewhat related note, I find it hard to believe that many people think that a jedi should be able to outheal a master doc or master cm, these are characters that for all intents and purposes of this post are "Medical Professionals" and I believe they should have the best of the healing. That being said, if a jedi wants healing as good as that of a Master Doc or Master CM why shouldnt they have to pick up Master Healer? Doesn't make much sense to me, but oh well. Thats my 2 cents on the issue.

Did you ever think it was possible that SOE feels that possibly thyroid rupture wasn't harmful enough! Maybe they felt like there needed to be more of an effect of the combat slowdown? Also not many templates have too much trouble with thyroid rupture if they have speed over say 100.... Ill give you some data right here:
3 Test for base weapon speed of 2.50
Player Speed Mod Actual Attack Speed w/o Thyroid RuptureActual Attack Speed w/ Thyroid Rupture
1) 1501.431.54
2)1001.571.79
3) 501.872.33
Now as you can see the faster your weapon speed, the smaller the effect of thyroid rupture! So really since the average combat-centric player has a speed around 100+, then at most they will see a reduction of .2 secs.... or you lose about 1 sec of attack time each 5 attacks! The players who are really hurt by thyroid rupture are Single combat profession templates with low speeds as the player with a weapon speed of 50 loses .5 secs per attack or 2.5 secs per 5 attacks!
Thyroid Rupture truely isn't as big an influence as you guys think!

I back this up! I am a smuggler, and we have a -50 or -40 attack speed debuff, and it does not cause a noticeable effect on attack speed as you might think. This guy's numbers look like they are DEAD on.
If a player has 100 speed or so, this debuff won't even hurt them for an amount that is discernable even with time stamps on your combat logs =/
