Thread: Spider Venom will either be really good for you guys or end up being really bad.

Flames and or trollish behaviour in a thread will lead to a thread lock or deletion. Always has, it just hasn't been as enforced here.


As for the insanely powered loot drops, all I can say is that it's still on test...it could change before it 'officially' hits live. And to those who have been exploiting their way into the cave to obtain this stuff early, all I have to say is....y'never know who's watching

Ehm... There is a max of +25 bonus you can get from any amount of skill tapes in any skill. Don't waste your tapes trying to get +67, it won't work.








There is still much debate on the topic. I could easily put together a +25 suit, and test it. Then put another +1 tape in another article of clothing, and test it. Since CM poisons and diseases are easily quantifiable with a willing partner, it should allow me to put this debate to rest.

Pistol speed etc are not quantifiable. You just assume that you get a big bonus. This is measurable, and I will measure. If I can give myself a huge bonus, I will. If not, I'll sell antoher +25 suit to someone in the guild or on the server, and recoup some of my creds.

Since the only dev answer we've gotten was still ambiguous on the surface, the scientist in me is going to prove the answer.

On the TC they had all the spawns sped up to test them, when in ANY dungeon have you seen a mob spawn in under 5 minutes? It's not going to be like that when it goes live.

Would it make you feel better that I can confirm the possibility? I have acquired several spider venoms through my network of friends and suppliers that have powers exceeding even the exception Advanced Infection Amplifier that I purchased a while ago.


At 320 power, I can make an Area Mind Poison C to tick totickclose to1000 and Area Mind Disease to tick around 700. Quite frightening isn't it?








When I see it live on the server without an exploit I will believe that this available. As it is right now, I have a feeling that this will be toned down quite a bit.


When it is live and in full production, then I will give Daymeeuhn the proper apology that he deserves. I am already changing my mind about him, he seems to b trying to cool his trollish behavior. I did not get to see the deleted posts though, so one wonders.

Exactly. Things on TC aren't always going to hit Live that way.

The "quick spawning" was a point one of them made out, as if it was meant to be there to make things "harder."



But we'll see. Because the bossmob being on a 20 minute timer does seem a bit sketchy.

By the second comment, I mean it is on the servers, and most people cannot access it. But there is apparently an exploit that will allow knowledge characters to enter the cave whenever they want.

So it does stop some people. But not the exploiters.

If this drop rate is what is being led on, then that is a bad thing. For a class to be judged on loot enhancements is not right, and that is what will happen if these frequent the live servers. No other combat class will have such great enhancements so readily available over what can be crafted.

As I see it, such easy to find enhancements are bad for CM and are bad for the game.

It's not just CM loot drops at the cave. There are several other overpowered weapon components for other profession that drop there as well...

as i posted before, i got some legit loot from the Geo cave from a friends:
spider venom: 169 power (although i have heard of 300ish ones, i just don't have any)
modified DM: 20 charges, 25 effective range, 20 area effect


so i put those together with these:

alum: 645 conduct, 958 OQ, 794 UT

liquid petrochem: 668 PE, 914 OQ

fungi: 920 PE, 568 OQ

ARC: 46 potency 106 duration


i created a health AoE poison then dumped all my experimentation points into effectiveness, here are the stats:

potency: 97

effectiveness: 330

range: 42

area effected: 36

CM med use: 91


i guess the modified dispersal mechanisms wouldn't be too useful once they fix the range on poison/diseases, and i guess 458 is possible... i don't know though, using exploits to get this stuff just isn't right
