Thread: Spider Venom will either be really good for you guys or end up being really bad.

LOL that would be an understatementDid you ever put that nightsister AIA poison you made to use? I am curious as to how many people sent you nasty tells after that
Yes I did. I found out that the poison was much less effective than the disease was simply because a master doctor can cure up to 1200 tick of poison with high quality cure poison Cs and a +25 wound treatment shirt or clothing.
The disease however on the other hand has decimated many opponent during the guildwar which I was involved in since it required 3-4 application of cure disease to remove.
Again, currently the drop rate is simply mind boggling. I think it very conceivable that this will be changed or fixed.
I've seen as high as 370 power on those venoms which has equated to 450-500 base effectiveness single diseases. That's about 1000 tick mind wound. Very unpleasant.
Oh wow, I would have created a character on Bloodfin just to watch in awe lol. That is some cool stuff

A spider in the new Geonesian Labs theme park that hasn't been added to Live.
Well, apparently it IS on live, but non-exploiters do not have access to it yet.
Well, that never stopped anyone going there, does it?
As I see it, such easy to find enhancements are bad for CM and are bad for the game.

If this drop rate is what is being led on, then that is a bad thing. For a class to be judged on loot enhancements is not right, and that is what will happen if these frequent the live servers. No other combat class will have such great enhancements so readily available over what can be crafted.

Makes your job a lot more difficult doesn't it? I feel sorry for you, honestly, I really do.
Welcome to the revolution!!

No need to feel sorry. I am also a master combat medic. And I was responding as a combat medic not as a doctor. I see the damage CM's do in pvp to be appropriate now. In PVE, I think CM's are overly weak. These drops will fix the PVE problem, but create a PVP problem. I like many other CM's look to be formidable in both. But making easy to get loot so much better than what we can craft is a bad move.
The best of what we can craft SHOULD be better than easy to find loot. Exceptional and legendary loot should exist, but they should be very rare. If these drops do make it in the game, I see our pvp damage (which the devs responded as being in line) as being too powerful.

It's not just CM loot drops at the cave. There are several other overpowered weapon components for other profession that drop there as well...
My position will stand for those drops as well. Making easy to get drops better than what masters can craft is a bad thing.

I don't know why someone would want to argue with his pictures. I am a CM in the game myself and this stuff isn't going to be THAT hard to come by. It is most definitely not like Krayt tissue trust me.
I woudl argue with his pictures because anyone with a 9th grade education and a working knowledge of photoshop can create almost any picture they want to display. Anybody remember all the Jedi images that were coming out before there were any jedi slots open?

I am still waiting to see what finally does make the live server. While I would love to see this come about, this is going to be a serious weapon that is going to be a precursor to a huge nerf. The PvP ramifications on these are huge. Now of course these are likely to be rare drops and since a combat medic will more than likely never be able to get to the creature that drops these without help, then it might all come out even in the wash.

2 things: 1) They already did nerf Krayt weapons.
2) Griggs, we'll have to get our hands on a few of these and play...see about the max effectiveness, what happens if you max the range out with rancor bile etc.
BTW, I don't know if anyone cares, but I have +67 CM effectiveness tapes and +24 CM use tapes, and I have prepared quantitative tests that will prove conclusive whether:
A) CM use tapes work
B) CM effect tapes work
C) If there really is a +25 cap (i.e. 125 eff at master)
I will post the results, along with my methods onto this forum for the rest of the CMs to peruse.

There is still much debate on the topic. I could easily put together a +25 suit, and test it. Then put another +1 tape in another article of clothing, and test it. Since CM poisons and diseases are easily quantifiable with a willing partner, it should allow me to put this debate to rest.
Pistol speed etc are not quantifiable. You just assume that you get a big bonus.
Since the only dev answer we've gotten was still ambiguous on the surface, the scientist in me is going to prove the answer.

1 Acklay every what? 30-60 minutes? Compared to how many Krayts in the same time? 3? 4? lol...plus, there's 4 or so things that come from this acklay, meaning even if you do kill that 1 acklay you only have a 25% chance of finding the stuff. Plus, you can kite krayts, you can't kite this thing since it's inside. No, this stuff will be much rarer then Krayt tissue.

Would it make you feel better that I can confirm the possibility? I have acquired several spider venoms through my network of friends and suppliers that have powers exceeding even the exception Advanced Infection Amplifier that I purchased a while ago.
At 320 power, I can make an Area Mind Poison C to tick totickclose to1000 and Area Mind Disease to tick around 700. Quite frightening isn't it?
Hmm, now thats interesting. The post about me saying I saw someone hit in the head with a 700 tick mind disease was... deleted?
Wierd.
Some of you might have seen it, I wrote it just before posting this one and some people responded in it. I wrote another post like this one to directly bring discussion to the Spider Venom rather than the insane minddisease since that was just leading to Flames and no actual discussion. So Im curious what was in that post to constitute it being deleted?
Hmm.....
