i think to solve their orignial issue which was stacking jedi speed with doc speed... would just to make them not stack... there problem solved... no 'nerfing' required of anyone.... but no, they have to reduce it from 40 to 25 points.... however that 25 still stacks with the jedi what is it 15... to be a 40....

oh well guess i'm just being a little whinny... ok end of my pathetic little rant... but my idea as to a solution still stands

QFE

Such complicated problems solved with simple answers right in front of their faces. Once again, Jedi issues spill over into the regular professions.

Why is someone always whining about someone else's abilities? Can't everyone just play the game - GAME - and enjoy themselves. Each profession has strengths and weaknesses so learn how to use/hide them and just have a good time. I come on this board to get some tips for playing my MCM/MP and all that's on here are calls for nerfs. Every once in a while there's a good post like the food/drink post.

Have fun. Play the game.

The whines are always from people that can't win every time and feel the ultimate need to be special.

Everyone needs to stop the whining and trying to nerf us! Psi is right, our debuff while stronger is an attack and has short duration compared to adrenal boost and force speed and the speed buff food! There are way to avoid our debuff such as staying out of 10m range... now if you are melee then you may be just out of luck, but you can pull out a rifle if you need to, 0 acc to 200 def (melee toRanged MCM)is a lot kinder than 175 acc to 750 def (CM to TKM or MDef)!

And the stacking issue, people would then complain that other doc buffs shouldn't stack with food.... thats probably is the one of the reasons whythey decided tocontinue to allow stacking but reduce effectiveness.

Bring back the CU or at least Pre-CU... its better that this MMO Third Person Shooter bullcrap

Actually you can blame SOE for that one. They substituted real content for a high emphasis on PvP.

PvP= competition.

Competition= high ego's, short tempers, smack talking, and finger pointing

Competitions have less of that when they are heavily regulated with strict template (rules on engine size, weight, mods, etc). Since PvP in SWG is made up of various template types there will always be that general unpleasantness between templates as much as SOE tries to balance it.

In this case, SOE completely unsettled the balance by promising a template type (jedi) intended to be 1.5x better than any other template type. Naturally every PvP'er or general uber l337 wannabe is flocking to it. But when a non-jedi template starts to show promise of defeating the jedi template, guess who screams bloody murder especially when they have the exact same skills (and much better than even an MCM) available to them?

These people dont fight in groups. These people dont care about PvE unless they can't solo something. These people dont understand the concept of "force multiplier" (and I dont mean jedi force). These people dont understand the concept of dedicated group support.

thyroid rupture has to be applied during combat and you have to get deadly close to somone to use it. buffs can be used any time, whether in combat or not. when we see buffs being only able to be applied in combat, then yes. otherwise no.

No, it doesn't stack any more. That was the orginal "problem".

I think the thyroid rupture should be brought down to -30 so that it's still more than the doctor buff, but more in line with the new speed buff values.

Yes, I am a full template jedi, no I'm not calling for nerfs. My alt is a CM and I just don't think it's right that SOE changes one half of an equation but not the other.

This is a pretty basic issue that people have confused.

-40 Thyroid, +40 in combat haste and +40 in weapon speed are not the same terms.

Combat haste, adrenal boost and forcespeed are different that weapon speed tapes and skill modifiers. +40 in combat haste is MUCH MUCH better than +40 in weapon speed tapes.

link to picture showing +40 in combat haste. At MLS, attacks sped up from 2.14 seconds / attack to 1.0 seconds per attack with +40 in combat haste applied. At MLS, you have a weapon speed of 120.

Per a poster above changing the weapon speed mod from 100 to 150 changed attack time from 1.79 seconds per attack to 1.54 seconds per attack.

-----------

Just to summarize:

+40 in combat haste to a weapon speed of 120 changed delay in attacks from 2.14 seconds to 1.0 seconds.

+50 in weapon speed changed from 100 to 150 changed delay in attacks from 1.79 seconds to 1.54 seconds.

-------

Thyroid rupture is a weapon speed modifier, NOT a combat haste modifier. There is a huge difference between the two. I'm actually willing to bet that even after the nerf in the next publish forcespeed + adrenal boost + thyroid rupture will STILL BE faster than an attack with none of the three.

I'm pointing this out not only as a jedi player, but as my alter-ego BH/CM player, too. I think it sucks that all the + speed buff are getting nerfed, but that being the case then the only balacing thing to do with thyroid rupture is to reduce its effects as well. Not a popular thing to say, but given the other changes it only makes sense.
I suppose this is where the flames begin.

I'm not going to flame, I'm just going to point out that there are combat haste modifiers like force speed and adrenal boost and there are weapon speed modifiers like skill tapes and thyroid rupture.

+40 in combat haste is a much better boost that +40 in weapon speed. Similarly, +40 in combat haste more than counters -40 in thyroid rupture.

Has anyone tested the new forcespeed or adrenal boost for actual reduction of attack speed? Just saying it changes it from +25 to +20 is meaningless to compare with a weapon speed modifier like thyroid rupture unless you have actual date to see the effect.
