Thread: Mind Heal: Nothing but a slap in the face to the Combat Medic

I used the mind heal ability three times in a PvP battle this past weekend. 10 rebs vs. 10 imps and had I not used it we would not have won the battle. I agree that the amount of damage it does to my mind makes it a limited use ability, but I'd rather have it and take the mind hit than not. My 2 cents.

I tried it the other day and was disapointed. I forsee only using it in dire emergencies. Since I'm both doc and cm , I would rather not get wounded and just res the guy once he drops from mind wounds.

Squad Leaders are your new best friend, combat medics.

We have a previously useless command called "Boost Moral". What it does is average out the total wounds of the squad. So you have your 40 or so mind/focus/willpowerwounds, we have ten people in the squad and press the button, now you have 4 wound to each. We love you too.

P.S.

I am also a rifleman, and I get incapped almost exclusivly in the mind. One hand washes the other, friends.

Folks,

Its not a bad ability to use in a pinch. Myself and two friends stumbled upon a Dark Jedi Master in Dantoine. This was no easy task taking it down took 5 mins and me using every skill at my disposal including the mind heal on my friend the Master Rifleman. The mind wounds were a small price to pay to take a Dark Jedi Master down. All it took was a few minutes in a Cantina to get me back to normal. As a healer first and foremost its my duty to keep everyone else alive no matter the cost to myself. Thank you devs for the gift one which has already come in handy.

CalisGodWind... um, you sir are an idiot. Your post is so full of holes andfalse statements it's embarressing. And you shouldn't make so many assumptions, especially when they are wrong, it discredits your arguements. You tell me to learn how to play my character? You can't even accurately describe what happens when triggering the skill in question. You also need to re-read the origional post, and you'll see I have no problem with the CM profession at all, it's this 'mind heal' skill that was supposed to be such a great addition and bonus to us that I have a problem with, because we are probably done getting any attention from the DEV's from this point on. I think we could have gotten better.

HAH!!!! im an idiot? ur post started -Mind Heal: Nothing but a slap in the face to the Combat Medic-\

and that is what i disputed and by the look of it on other posts more cm's agree that is a very useful ability than people who think it sucks.

To say i do not know how to use the skill is laughable every cm knows how to set it on tool bar or type /healmind , so yes i do know how to use the skill. You are the one who has no idea how to use the skill like i said it was never meant to be used like stims healing constantly but as a very powerful ability at the moment considering the biggest problem in combat is the incaps to the mind and no way to help the player. Someone goes incaped to health or action- no problem toss a stim and they are saved from a db or from slayed but if they go incap from mind -lol nada to do but watch the other faction come up and db. now we have the power and we(cm) are the only ones with this power to ease one of the biggest problems in pvp or pve which is mind incaped. I for one am glad we have this ability and only us . Looks like u need to learn how to play a combat medic better or get come to grips with the fact cm isnt supposed to be the "best" in pvp. Although many rebals will disagree with that and cry nerf after a battle with them.

All the folks whose Holocrons told them to go Image Designer love it, so it must be a good skill, right?

ugggggh silly silly combat medic

why do insist heal mind should be used like a stim? tossing healmind left and right?

healmind is a last resort for a cm, it isnt meant for a constant heal.

and yes i am a master combat medic on corbantis and use healmind but i use it as its intended. I use it to revive an incaped player so he doesnt get slain or db depending if we pvp or pve.

yes it does give me 40 wounds but only to will power and my mind not focus but to go to the players point about not being able to use it cause he wears full composite - so do i i wear full compoiste sliced for encumb. u choose to wear full composite for effectiveness and then complain when u have no secondary stats left to take wounds? personnally all my secondaries after armor is near 0 except will power which is 400 after armor all i do si take off helmet and um up to 565 which regen decently

my ham is 1150 health 975 action and 1000 mind - does give me a bih hit in mind damage but how many battles last for more than 10 minutes? suck a muon gold and the damage is nada

to the original player who started this thread- learn how to play a combat medic a good combat medic isnt a cm/doc its a cm/weapon skill by me healing an incaped players mind and then hsi acyion and health i return him to fulll ham instead of being db. thast playing smart rather have another player alive helping me fight than solo cause of 40 wounds. And if anyone thinks im full of bs on how well i play a cm ask rebal guilds how good i am im sure they will and they have in the past verified how good i am.

even after patch we still are one of the best pvp classs- i a master pistoleer/master cm with increased range and speed of tick and dot which can be a 750+ dot now which quickly drops a person mind to 1 hp- one special shot will incap a player no matter which pool it hits in

Mind damage shouldn't be so GD important.

the Ham system needs to be re-worked...this fix...is crap..

Why should it be that I can throw heals all day long keeping ppl alive then they get incapped on mind damage. Wow...I did good huh...I guess I'll walk over to them and heal their minds, opps hender myself.

I'm one of the bigest PvPers around and have been since the game came out, Master the profession before poisons and diseases work. and to hear someone with 14 posts tell ppl to learn the profession is crazy.

Mind damage should be healed with Stims (HAM system should be re-worked to make this a possibility) and no side effects to helping ppl.

Most of you that post on this forum are DR/CM....explain how a doctor can bring someone back to life with a pack and no wounds inflicted on him self but I can't heal damage without causing wounds....rediculous

this patch was a major nerf to the CM profession.

CM out of balance? no, hmm smuggler last ditch 750 damage ever 1.5 secs vs CM mind poison 600 damage ever 8 secs..so no, not out of balance

Give docs stronger cure packs, fine they basically can 1 shot cure a poison that wasn't resisted.

but to not be able to incap players with poison is rediculous.

How in the hell was this patch a nerf to CMs? Because of the addition of /mindheal? Because of the +1 change to DoTs?

Did you forget that the Adv Resilience Compound actually LOADS now? Or that you now have a full 10 experimentation points on CM components? Or the other things that were fixed/added?

But no...since they added something to CMs that a few don't like it's suddenly a nerf?

It's a NEW Ability! A New Skill! A New tool that you can use! And, hey, guess what, no one is MAKING you use it!

Geeze people, what is wrong with you?

/rant on

The number of posts someone has made to the forums does not invalidate their insights or opinions on a particular subject. Neither does one's choice of complimentary professions, even though it may not align with your idea on how to play the profession. The main thing is that we are on this forum to discuss the profession and where it is headed so we can try to influence it in a positive manner. There are more constructive ways to go about voicing your opinion than degrading others because they don't agree with you. Let's all just take a second, step back, and remember this is JUST a game and we are ALL here to have fun.

I think we should be able to craft mind healing medicines, I mean its ridiculous to be able to heal everything else except mind and the mind thing is BS anyway because all your mind is easily gone if you do this twice, how the hell are you suppose to help a group like that anyway?

well, apart from the limited range i have no gripes. i didn't expect much out of it i guess and we certainly didn't get much. i will say that in a pinch, it is handy - and it should endear you to those you save <lol>.i just have to use it sparingly and with discretion. now, howdo ikeep a master entertainer nearby in a camp. hmm...what is the mind wound healing range of an entertainer - anyone know?
