Thread: Mind Heal: Nothing but a slap in the face to the Combat Medic

Correction, I'm a Former Master Combat Medic. And I work closely with a Current Master Combat Medic.

So yes, I am very familiar with the issues that CMs face.

And the CM I allude to did try the mind heal ability on me. It was a full 900 points damage heal at the cost of 30-40 wounds to each of his Mind Stats. With the Musician buff to Focus and Willpower, and the Dancer buff to Mind aided by the now working and stackable Chef and Smuggler Buffs, the ability to heal mind can be a godsend.

good point about the food and spice and entertainer mind buffs giving you more to work with but one really does need alot of mind to pvp with so much eyeshot.

Are you stupid or just a gay little 14 year old trolling the forums?

I'm sorry, I was mistaken. I thought you were having problems with a new skill, I didn't know you had problems with life in general. Good luck solving them. Come back when you're done and I'll show you how to optimize your skillset.

Increase your focus and the mind wounds go down. Get chef buffs, musician buffs, whatever. The amount of mind wounds received is dependant on your own current focus and nothing else.

Now battle fatigue is constant. I get 9 every time I use the ability regardless of what my current focus or battle fatigue is. So if I am prepared, the wounds can be handled, the battle fatigue will eventually be a problem.

The current mind heal system is a slap in the face.

I've been a master CM for over 4 months. I believe that when holocron said that mind damage isn't suppose to determine who wins something would be done.

But this doesn't help one bit.

CM's can keep their party/friends alive from a distance except when it come to mind damage. Now basically we are in the same boat.

I didn't go up a tree in Ranged Healing so I'd have to walk up to someone and heal their mind.

Mind heals should work the same as other heals..anything else still gives the classes that can target the mind a huge advantage.

As a CM now in combat, with the ability to heal mind damage, I will not last as long as I could 2 weeks ago.

With ppl that I poison not being incapped they now will be killing me. With trying to /heal mind I'll have an even less mind pool because of wounds and less regen. and without the ability to heal my own mind i'll be the first to go down.

Im the Current Master CM that Tex was talking about, and I have found the mind heal pretty usefull the couple times I have used it.

Like Tex said, It only gives me about 40 wounds each time I use it.

Last night we went hunting in a group at the force caves on Dant. Three times, members of my group were incapped or almost incapped from loss of mind. There were still 3-4 red con mobs up and fighting, and had all my TKA friends gone down, I would have been taken down quickly and we all would have gotten a nice trip back to the cloning center.

Instead, I hit the mind heal button a couple times, and bam, everyone was back to full mind and we kicked some ass. I ended up with about 120 mind wounds from it. We went outside, set up a camp and played some music, and less than 3 min later I was all healed and ready to kick some more NPC butt.

If you use it intelligently, and only when its really needed, mind heal is a GREAT tool.

Because I happened across a holocron one night which told me to Master TKA. So, since I'm first and foremost a Doc, I dropped my CM to get TKA. It had nothing to do with the skillset of CM itself, which I loved. It was simply a lack of available skill points and the fact that Doc is a better match for TKA.

So there are some drawbacks, but I hang with a rifleman who uses his mind a lot. I wear almost no armor. I fell like (when I get it) mind heal will be pretty cool. I take wounds yes, but to me with almost 900 mind thats ok. I find it odd that people come onto these boardst o complain rather then be constructive.

I tried this ability this weekend, its sortof like LAY HANDS from the paladin class in EQ except you might be able to to it 5 times before you need an entertainer to heal your mind wounds.

I did manage to save my tank from death 3 times at the force cave. I averaged between 500 mind boost to 1100 mind boost its sort of random.

I'd still rather have our old poisen ability over this ability because everyone wants you to heal mind. This ability is nice but its not worth the cost to me.
