Thread: Some Q and A on upcomming changes

Even if I didn;t have Novice Marksman I could take out a guy with only 1hp, but that being said it was offered as a possible solution to a grief from poisons.
It's 1 friggin hp. Even if I'm unlucky enough to run into my target between ticks and they had a great regen rate and were at some incredibly great regen like 70 hps, I could STILL take them down with one shot from a CDEF.
Zalor,
It's +1 on the HAM, it could be health, action or mind. And unless you can target a specific pool, your shots will just go random. And the point I'm trying to make is that on many occassions, that I was incapped by a bleed, fire DoT or other type of damage, but my opponent did not get to DB me because he was shortly incapped as well from my poison damage. This will not be the case from now on. Without the ability to incap an idividual, you're exposing yourself to damages otherwise would not have. Just as the commando can hit you with a last ditch Flame Cone 2 as you try to finish him off with your CDEF Pistol!
The plusses... folks won't get caught in a constant incap cycle where they never die but poisons SEEM to last for 45 minutes. The loot/harvest persmissons bug, where you have no corpse permissions if your poison kills a MOB won't happen anymore (although it should be noted that all DoTs suffer from this problem and I agree taht all of them should probably be made to not incap). And if we get this decay on incap coming through, it would give a few CMs too much of an ability to grief by leaving folks to constant incap while constantly forcing their items to decay, yet they won't dare commit suicide to stop the poison because all the incaps from poison won't quite equal the decay from death.
Now I'm not saying this was the best idea or fix for anything, it was jsut an idea I had offered up and asked for more input from this very forum. I also offered up all the ideas presented at the time and all of the arguments leavied against the no-incap for poisons idea to our Dev. He just decided to try this particular out, apparently. I have not tested it, but so far all I see is that it will require a change in our tactics, but reallr isn't some kind of death knell for CM poisons. I'd rather give it a try first before dismissing it out of hand jsut because it's different from what we do now.
You're right, it is not the best idea of fixing this. And I'm not surprised that the SoE developers implemented this half ass solution. Just as instead of fixing the Corpse Disease/Poison Bug, they increased the resistance rate of the incapped and corpses.
And regarding to poison used as a grieving tool. I can easily grief with Area Disease than with Poison and probably can do that more efficiently. So, your point on that is moot.
Also, just to clarify, I've been playing CM as long if not longer, and I do know what I'm talking about.

Hm.. seems kind of ludicrous to me to not realy on your wepaon to deliver a killing blow. I mean what did we have to take Ranged Weapon Support for if we weren't expected to be able to at least miniamally use a weapon.
As for Ranged Weapon Support --- What weapon certfication exactly did a CM get in training RWS? Oh yes --- absolutely none. Case closed on that petty arguement.
Hey Zarlor, why not stick w/Dr instead of setting up nerfs for other classes? This has really lowered my opinion of you (and that was quite high in regard to your work for Doctors).
Yes He helped this class SOOOO much when we were abandoned. You like that +50 Terrain Negotiation (I DO) ?

Bochy,
I think the least we should do is give Zarlor the respect that he earned for being the brief corespondent for us while there wasn't any.
He earned my respect for doing both jobs and will always have my sincere gratitude.
Obviously his idea was to come to our boards and put a big nerf on CMs. I have no respect for him at this point. It was a rotten thing to do, and only a hater would do such a thing. I know 3 CMs on Shadowfire that plan to quit the game because of the NerfZarlor has suggested as a cure for CMs. I myself plan to drop it and pick up something that at least will be viable in PvP if this goes live. Way to chase ppl out of a profession Zarlor. To think I used to think he was above nerfing other classes and instead chose to promote Doctor, now I see he is into nerfing other classes in order to promote Doctor.
Zarlor === no more respect from me!!!

And I agree with TsunamiKata, Zarlor worked hard for the CM's and still does offer some insight into matters that I would miss. There was no intentional harm cause by zarlor or myself. I did like the idea of the poison stopping at +1 at first, untill I started to think about the PvP implications. It was an easy fix that solved more problems than it caused so the dev went with it

I am curious, do younow seehow utterly stupid and harmful this is to the CM profession Kavedawg?

Bochy,
I do not see you contributing to this forum. In fact, I just did a search on your contribution to the CM forum and all I've found was 7 replies in 4 separate threads within the Combat Medic Forum.
And for you to come on to this forum board blasting people as you're doing right now is an ourage. Until you have contructively contributed to this forum, you do not have the right to criticize someone.
You don't even know what it means to be a Combat Medic, have you endure the pain and hardship went this profession was first started? All you're doing is reaping the reward of those who painstakenly contributed, written, and offered suggestions to the Developers and on this forum.
For you to bash Zarlor like this is a blashpemy.

Please quit. CMs don't need someone that is into nerfing them being the representative to SOE.
Thanks -

Kavedawg,
I wouldn't pay too much attention to this individual. For those who have been Combat Medic since day one, we have endured the hardship and those who are Flavor of the Month(FOTM) Combat Medics, they'll wash out.
I don't forsee Bochy to be in this community too long and therefore as Kijan would call it, he's a non-factor.
Obviously, thanks to Zalor and your effort, we have received much more feed back than we've gotten in a long time, and for that you two have my sincere gratitude. And I can speak for all of us here that your hard work is much appreciated.
