how many of us here would care if rifleman one hit use by doing 2000-3000 H or A and not 1900 mind?

snipers could still 1 hit unbuffed people easy...

let snipers have a huge damage sniper move for the H and the A pool that why they could choose the bar they wanted to target and still 1 hit people...

in my perfect little world...

pistol would do health damage
carbine would do action damage
rifle would do both health and action damage (and have most of the same penalties it does now)

Man, it would be sooooo much better... Rifler's could hang back and support their groupmates, we wouldn't have these mind-damage imbalances, medics might have a purpose in PVP again.

But I really don't think the devs care anymore. They've sold their game, the fanboi's all think everything's just perfect the way it is...

Oh well, I'll reserve judgement for another couple of patches, and see if balance comes up in their list of priorities.

Yeah, eye-shot is bullcrap. Have you seen where it falls in the BH skilltree? 2 boxes up.

So, with just 2 boxes of BH skill, you get an "I WIN" button.

Unbelievable.

Oh, about the previous "Perfect World" ideas, what if only melee'ers did mind-damage. At least then they'd have a purpose. (I know, TKA and 2-handed targets mind, but what if all melee could do 2-3 hundred mind-damage with a styled hit). I haven't completely worked it into my ideal combat system, but I think it would work somewhat.

eyeshot is bad but have u seen flameshot?

now that what our dots should do...

350 damage and 80 wounds to my health every 15 secs lasted like a minute and a half and did like 600 wounds to me as well as make its so my health bar was less than the damage i took so i couldnt even stim

At first, I thought, why can't this be like any game, and have the "mana" pool be undamageable, but used for all special attacks? Then when I took that thought one step further... that would take away one key point of the entertainers... healing mind wounds.

I really don't know the way around this one. On one hand, I think its ridiculous that we can take damage that NO ONE can heal during the fight. On the other hand, you have the potential to exploit, as Elenora has mentioned (which I don't completely buy, although I see the logic). There has to be a way to allow someone to be able to heal mind damage in a battle, without making the mind pool infinate or exploitable. To me, it's counterintuitive to have an entertainer in a battle group... at least the ones I know. They are social animals, they want nothing to do with battle. The ones I knoware more worried about having a coordinated outfit (plus several additional outfit changes, just in case) than fighting mobs.

I don't know how they fix this, but they have to somehow.

You're right about the entertainers Malir. If you make mind-healing an entertainer skill. You'll just make the people who want to be healers, take both medic and entertainer.

It's not like CM's don't have enough to take, what with medic, marksman, CM, and Artisan surveying.

Keep the bards out of SWG. Let the healers heal.

well in that case how about this rather than doing 1900 points of mind damage, rifleman would do say 200-300 wound damage to the mind pool...

this would make more sense...getting hit the head causes long term brain damage...

rifleman are a grieveing class already...

make mind damage do mind wounds (just tone it down)

hence long long PvE will take a mental toll on you...

getting continuously shot in the head will force u to spend time in teh cantina and get over he mental trauma by paying for lap dances...

only problem whould be that entertainers would level 5x as fast with this increase in mind wounds...

Actually, if there's a griefing class in the game, it's either us or the BH's.

Ever seen someone come into the med center with a sliver of non-black left? I'm talking about HUGE wounds to all 3 pools?

Odds are they were fighting a CM. Disease is the griefing TOOL.

BH's can give bad wounds too, but man, when that disease sticks, you KNOW they're going to be spending some time in the med-center

use this power wisely...

hehehe shhh...dont tell people we grieve man...

im trying to get rmind damage nerfed not CMs!!!

diesease is just gay...needs to be rethought out...

i say disease would basically stop HAMs from regeneration via heals or innate abilities rather than grieve...i.e. DAOC disease...maybe an initial wound damage then boom...no more heals for u!!!no more mediation for you ...

I think the quote was taken a little out of context. I think the DEV is thinking out loud so to speak. Some of what you see in the quote may get in the game, but I doubt all of it. As for Mind damage attacks. I'm for personal shields that only protect one of the HAM's. Then plp carry around ps vs. mind attacks and I would hope not as many plp complain about the non-healing. It's not perfect, butI would think an easy fix.

The designers/devs have said since well before beta even opened... There will be no bard-type profession in SWG.

A combat-entertainer-healer is by definition a bard.

It just won't happen. Entertainers will never get that trick.

But I cannot recall them ever saying specifically that mind-damage should be unhealable. So, let's think of something to get mind-healing into the hands of players.

I vote for medics, It's what they spent the skill-points to do.

I totally agree that something needs to be done to increase PvP combat, it ends too quickly now. But, how many of you have actually fought in a real war? "Mind Damage" really happens out there ! (I have been in the Army 6 years now) and Bob Hope isn't on the field when a soldier gets freaked out (which is what mind damage really is) When a soldier cracks he is useless and has to be taken behind the lines and needs rest. Entertainers are the SWG version of Bob Hope.

In my opinion the real problem is how quickly mind damage is given. Lets not concentrate on CM's healing mind damage, because CM's in the real world can't heal mind damage. Let's concentrate on making mind damage more realistic so that real battles can be waged.

And oh BTW if one more Rancor attacks me in PvP while his master is sitting back I am just gonna puke. So in short I have no idea how to fix the problem, but creating heals that don't match reality doesn't seem to be the answer.

Thx for listening and trying to understand my rambling hehe
