Ahh I understand what you mean. I guess part of the judgement calls were from the title which doesn't come out as passive imo. Personally I'm really sad to see the CM skillset change so much. The new DOT's are pretty cool along with the specials but still I'd prefer to have my heals/poisons just the way they were. Yes CM will undoubtedbly be popular as I've been noticing on T3. (if that's at all indicative of things to come).
As for the grinding part or lack thereof in your day to day playing. I respect that. I can also understand why someone wants to get it done in a day & think that's cool too. I just don't want to read 20 posts of how long it took someone.
If you grind and hate it cool. grind and like it great. If you don't grind or don't even play that's fine too

I understand now. But I don't think CM will have the greatest influx of players. Right now people are playing everything to see how it goes.

Simply put, there are always professions that are going to attract many more people than others. Think docs in the pre-CURB world. A dime a dozen, TONS of people had alts just as docs for buffing. TKs were the same way for defenses, meditation, etc. People flock to the professions that are popular at that time. Remember shipwright and how many people initially did that? I knew a LOT of people that were doing SW for JTL, then later dropped it as popularity died off. So maybe CM is part of a new FotM or maybe it's not. Personally I think it's a better situation than before where people would take up CM just to be "uber" in pvp instead of trying to be a true healer.

I think this is what the effectiveness stat is for & the actual damage of the enhancer is a fixed amount. I guess someone will figure it out soon enough.

It doesn't bother me at all. I think CM was one of the easiest professions I have mastered frankly. And as far as spending the time to gather resources, we won't be crafting as CMs anymore, so it's a moot point. *shrug* If they want to grind up a tougher template and then switch to CM, go for it I think.

Maybe I'm being selfish but does it make anyone else sick to hear about all the ppl planning on using the respec to pick CM? I've been a MCM for a long time and it just irks me a little to think we will have a huge influx of new CMs that didn't have to work at it to get there. I liked being in a pretty exclusive group( I felt SPECIAL...lol). I'm just venting a little but wanted to know how some of the other CM vets felt about this. I've worked hard to get good resources for my craft but now anyone who wants to can be just as effective as me after CU do to changes coming and dont even have to labor to get there. So what is going to make the vets diff from the new bandwagon jumpers? I say not a darn thing....
I truly apologize if I have made anyone mad. That was not my intention. Like I said I just wanted to vent and find out if anyone else felt the same way. I have always tried to help anyone who stopped me to ask questions and even have almost died during big fights because I tried to answer tells I got during combat. I know, my own fault but I feel bad not helping anyone trying to make it under the old system.
boo f-in hoo. Like it was that hard to have a pet tumber for 2 hours, and a crafting macro for another 3 hours to master medic. Then have another pet tumber for 3 more hours and a crafting macro going for another 3 hours. No one other then ID's (after that patch) had a hard time mastering there proffessions. It took me no time at all to master anything in the game post cu, and i'm betting you didnt' have a hard time either. The hardest proffesion to master was bh, because 1/2 of the missions where bugged. Everything else took less then a day.

Axefina, I will have to disagree on a few things with you. Depending on when you mastered professions they were easy or hard. The slicing in smuggler was not easy in the opening weeks of the game because nobody had large amounts of containers then much less had them on a vendor you could buy. Master rifleman used to have accuracy of somewhere around 80 something not 180 something. There were massive amounts of bugs they made everything in general difficult to deal with. So yes, after armor and buffs were improved most everything was easy, but before that things weren't so easy.

While i do see your pointon rifleman, and slicing maybe i never did that untill they gave away the 15 day accounts for free, and i messed around with alts. I remember hitting a mod with mind bleed then running them into a wall waiting out the mind pool and killing them in one hit. I used that to master my first3 proffesions, because you could hit them with a mind bleed then pull out a pistol and you'd get pistol xp. Or how about with CH when you only had to tell them to attack befor the mod died. I remember mastering CH with out ever having the pet hit anything. What about the joke of a grind that squad leader was, 4 hours at the fort on tat.I could go on and on for every proffesion. I was here at the start too, i do know for a fact that all the classes where made into jokes because of the quest for a jedi. Jedi killed this game.

Imagin how the BH's feel
people are specing into there prof without even doing the invest tree (the invest tree alone takes longer than grinding master combat medic 10 times)
or Smugglers, new smugglers dont need to slice or craft spices, all they need is pistol xp
people can also respec into BE, and sampling dna and tryign to grind with it is no easy task
CM's put in a lot less work than many others with reguards to the grind
the only thing id be upset about is losing the crafting

Is MCM all that hard to get ?Couple of you guys make it sound like it takes weeks or something.
I Mastered CM for the Holocron in 2 days and recently made an alt 4-4-0-4 in only an hour or two. How is that hard work to get where you are ? just my two cents /flame away

Thats the old system and every profession can be mastered in roughly 3 days. Doctor and CM need med exp which is easy to get thanks to tumblers and macro's. That has changed in the CU. Now you can only get med exp while your group is in combat. Those that respec will be in luck and not have to deal with this. Those that want to start a CM,Doc, or regular medicafter the CU will take a long while to do so. We have about 2 weeks left before the CU hits.
Is this good or a bad thing? You'll find out that mid-high level content and pvp is going to require 1 or several dedicated healers. Dabblers need not apply.

Two replies I want to answer:
Amerika : Yes I KNOW I eventually cap on XP. I have walked around on different planets for a week or so capped because I didnt feel like like taking the time to go train. I would rather be actually playing (meaning out questing or fighting).
Axefina: If you actually read one of my later posts you could have figured out that I did not use tumblers because I hate grinding. (Crafting macro? OK u got me there I did do that!!! lol) But tumblers no, because who wants to sit there watching someones bars go down over and over to heal them for xp. A little hint.... if u go out and fight using the occasional area poisons.... XP rolls in by the butt-loads. Any new CM gets that tid-bit of info from me when they ask for help on getting xp. By the way I got 50k of xp in 15mins on the corvette doing this. Wish that cap wasn't at 80, I could have filled a whole FS tree with a few trips to the vette.
