OK I understand other profs worked hard to get where they are today and I do not discount that any, as I tried many b4 becoming a CM. It's not the work that really bothers me. It's that when I see a CM now I feel a comradery (spelling?) towards that person. That will be lost due to free respec. Will I respec? Maybe but it will be to ADD to my CM. Say I pick up (and this is just for example don't scream "You won't have SPs to do that") BH. Will I expect vet BH to treat me as a wannabe? Certainly.
It just feels like I won't know who my REAL brothers and sisters are anymore. Over time that feeling will go away, sure hope so. I think CM is awesome now and HOPE it stays that way. Are RM, TKM and MSM awesome now? Yes they are IMHO but I feel the same way about CMs or I would not have stayed as long as I did. I want to stay and will try as long as I feel I still can contribute in a big way. Magic healing and disease.... don't like it. Losing my crafting..... don't like it. Being equal to everyone else new and old to CM.... don't like it. There are WAYYYYY better CMs out there now than me and I'm sure they aren't happy about becoming my equal soon. lol
I will shut up now but to close..... Some things about CU I am looking forward to, some Im not. What I will miss the most is the Brotherhood of CMs that I feel now........
It is not a free ride. People have worked hard on their professions too. Regardless if everyone respecs to CM, the main core of original CM's will always be better PvP's. We know how to play our character, what foods, what to fight against, what to do. They dont...

I totally agree with ya man. For me, it's not so much about the grinding, as the crafting. I spent alot of time and effort collecting resources, experimenting, and learning how to be the best that I could be. Now all that goes byebye.
My personal vent is that all the time and effort I spent gathering up my 12pt suit is officially a total and udder waste of my time. CM exp no longer exists. All my resources are worthless to me. And even the poisons i already crafted will be reduced to mere stims. Ranged healing is now a skill for sub master medic....
....I've been reduced to a mere dot machine.....in a way i feel robbed.
and thus is my vent,

Yah cause 2 days of playing is such a hardship. Get over yourself. Everyone who respecs "worked" on something else already. It's not a free ride.

Maybe I'm being selfish but does it make anyone else sick to hear about all the ppl planning on using the respec to pick CM? I've been a MCM for a long time and it just irks me a little to think we will have a huge influx of new CMs that didn't have to work at it to get there.

Truth is they just made it easier to be a cm so why not? The reduction in skillpoints, the lack of crafting & not having to have items to apply states. The fact is there's certainly some enticing factors about being a CM now.
Don't blame the users. It's an advantage (having CM). I won't fault someone now just because getting CM is easier.
It's a dev issue. If they wan't more CM's this is an easy way to do it. If they don't... well add in some more recs & or crafting sort of things.
A CM's damage output still seems small compared to any marksman or brawler dmg.
*(Referencing the tusken base from another post.)
Last night I spent about 5-10 minutes applying different states to a tusken warrior. At the end of applying my states I shot him several (and I mean several times). eventually this led to a kill but this took between 5 & 10 minutes. Not much later A Mcarbineer/BH spent about a minute or 2 to kill the same guy. Gee that's different :/. Although not terribly dissimilar to what we have today in terms of damage. I don't even see an effect on the ham bar from poisons now. it's odd.
As for the number of new CMs? I understand what you mean. I like my class & the fact there aren't hundreds of them on farstar. That can't be said of TKM, RM, & other combat profs.
On the other hand this could be just a phase
but I doubt it.
Too bad changes aren't being made based on the poll... 74% do not like the experience in the CU.
If you want an exclusive prof be a squad leader now I guess...

and honestly people let's not make fun of someone for spending more than a day for grinding through to MCM. It's a dumb pissing contest.

I'm not a CM, and I doubt I will respec to one either. I came here to try and get a feel for what CM's and Docs think about the CU.
What I don't understand is why all the animosity to people that respec to another profession? It's on the BH forums too.
I have a friend that grinded through Investigation in the early days of the game. I grinded through slicing in the early days of the game. Neither one of those were pretty back then. Are you saying that we didn't work hard enough on those to respec those points to CM if that is what we wanted?

Prolly makes you feel the same as pure bounty hunters and commandos, with people just taking 4/0/0/0 in those professions due to force grinding and hunting jedi.

I think some of you missed my initial point. Which was (is)..... there are not 100's of CMs around and when I DID see one, I was like "Oh Hey man whatsup?". I thought it was pretty cool. Did I grind through CM? No because I HATE grinding. I grinded the crafting part then went out to fight because thats why I bought this game to go out and fight!!!! When I got the xp to lvl, I got trained the NEXT time I was in town. I stayed out fighting not running back to trainers. I will probably never make it to jedi because of that. Who wants to travel for 10 mins to trade in pts for xp when that time can be used out killing? Not me. Anyways MY point was it was an exclusive profession you didn't see everywhere you went and THAT is what I liked. Now alot of ppl that I talk to are saying "Hey I'm gonna have the extra pts, Im gonna pick up CM. How you like it that prof?" If they want to grind or trade to CM that's fine. But I when I see one I won't be thinking "Oh hey that's pretty cool" anymore. I'm a MP/MCM and am thinking about a respec on MP. So I cannot hold anything against someone else who respecs.

Huh? To be honest, CM is included in a lot of templates on live, combined with rifles or TKA most of the time as far as I can tell. My initial reason for taking up doc was to be able to counter CMs because I was tired of being poisoned.

apparentally you are unaware that eventually you cap your experience so you are forced to go get trained... The 10 mins going from the village and back is easy, considering most people just hunt random lairs on dath and toss gernades like a whore...

As someone who plans to respec into CM, I don't see what all the fuss is about. Anyone who has the elite points to respec has worked enough to be in any elite profession. Is it unfair for any current CM's who don't like the loss of crafting and meds meaning something to use their points into respecing into another profession? No, absolutely not.
My desire comes from 2 avenues. One is thatI'm a casual player, and the respec allows me to getint oa profession that might have taken me months to grind. Two, I'm happy to actually be able to master CM finally. I'm a Smuggler tried and true since launch day, and I wanted to try CM to differentiate myself from the Pistoleer or TKM or Triple Threats that most of my brethren were. The problem was that I could only do 8-10 boxes depending on how useless I wanted my pistol to be without any mods. So after maxing out as far as icould, I had to drop it all and go back to MP. I really wanted to be MCM, but wasn't willing to give up MSmuggler for anything. Well, guess what?!...Now I can.
Respec-ing into MCM wasn't available for me before without dropping my true profession, now I can do it, and am proud to do so. Doing so is not a "free-ride" and people who do so shouldn't be treated as second class profession citizens.
