Thread: All the new CM wannbe's

Two replies I want to answer:
Amerika : Yes I KNOW I eventually cap on XP. I have walked around on different planets for a week or so capped because I didnt feel like like taking the time to go train. I would rather be actually playing (meaning out questing or fighting).
Axefina: If you actually read one of my later posts you could have figured out that I did not use tumblers because I hate grinding. (Crafting macro? OK u got me there I did do that!!! lol) But tumblers no, because who wants to sit there watching someones bars go down over and over to heal them for xp. A little hint.... if u go out and fight using the occasional area poisons.... XP rolls in by the butt-loads. Any new CM gets that tid-bit of info from me when they ask for help on getting xp. By the way I got 50k of xp in 15mins on the corvette doing this. Wish that cap wasn't at 80, I could have filled a whole FS tree with a few trips to the vette.
So, you still proved my point. CM isn't a hard grind. Nothing in this game is a hard grind (other then ID now). I don't care if you sat down in a med city with pet tumbler, or you went down to Fort Tusken and tossed area a's at mod's that couldn't kill you because you have 90% comp armor on. Every proffesion is easy to grind dancer set up a bot to pet tumble and quick heal himself. None of this is hard and all i was saying who cares if they give people a free respec because right now changing templates is a two day event.

Maybe I'm being selfish but does it make anyone else sick to hear about all the ppl planning on using the respec to pick CM? I've been a MCM for a long time and it just irks me a little to think we will have a huge influx of new CMs that didn't have to work at it to get there. I liked being in a pretty exclusive group( I felt SPECIAL...lol). I'm just venting a little but wanted to know how some of the other CM vets felt about this. I've worked hard to get good resources for my craft but now anyone who wants to can be just as effective as me after CU do to changes coming and dont even have to labor to get there. So what is going to make the vets diff from the new bandwagon jumpers? I say not a darn thing....
I truly apologize if I have made anyone mad. That was not my intention. Like I said I just wanted to vent and find out if anyone else felt the same way. I have always tried to help anyone who stopped me to ask questions and even have almost died during big fights because I tried to answer tells I got during combat. I know, my own fault but I feel bad not helping anyone trying to make it under the old system.
Are you kidding? CM is one of the simplest professions to master period.
Friend on a tumble macro, you on a heal macro by a trainer - go watch a movie and periodically skill up. Then you have 1 line of crafting *shiver*
Aside from that, CM's not exactllya "rare" profession. It's FOTY(year) up until more recently and is still commonly used.
So no, I don't agree with your points.

A CM's damage output still seems small compared to any marksman or brawler dmg.
Actually it's not because of two reasons: (1)A CM DoT never misses. The DoT hits for damage every tick., and (2) While the DoT is ticking the CM can use his other profession skill set to deal more damage at the same time. Any marksman or brawler can only hit for damage one weapon source at a time.
For this reason, MCM as it is now on Test (and soon to be on Live), is out of balance. My prediction is that CM will be the first profession to get hit with the inevitable nerfbat. I say this impartially as a MCM myself. DoTs are overpowered.
I think two solutions for the problem would be: (1) Have a roll whenever a DoT ticks so that it can miss doing damage sometimes, and (2) Once the CM is DB'd, then the DoTs he placed on players should dissipate. These seem fair and reasonable solutions.

With the CU making the CM gods of PvP combat, don't be suprised if everyone wants to get in on the action.
Personally, I don't like it. I dont want to be a CM. But from the testing Ive done, CM is going to be the most effective combat profession. You cannot beat stacking 2 DOTs along wtih 2 de-buffs then switching to an alternate combat profession and dealing out reglar damage on top of that. If you want to blame anyone, blame the developers for making CM so powerful.
And no offense, I mastered CM during the old Holo grind. It was not one of the harder ones to master.

What would you say to all those aspiring to be a Combat Medic post CU... without a respec? The XP required jumped to nearly 10× what was previously needed and anything I can fight with Master Doc and 0300 CM gives me 1xp.
..... let's see if I can find anyone who needs a lvl 59 doc in their group.

First of all I think that CM's are the gods of dueling combat and the gods of PvP healing. CM is the most effective healer so far and if you pick up some doctor even that basic version of bacta infusion is a big help. In real PvP where a lone person is nothing CM dots have turned to "extra" damage.
Sorry bud but if I'm going to blame anyone I'm going to blame the Dev's for not balancing out doctor with us and I'll blame the 1vs1 nubs who spew out false info about PvP effectiveness.
None, taken. Too bad the fast medical grind days are over. I mean now thata group healeris kind required to be successful its going to hurt alot of people who will want that nice dedicated healer. You'll lose everytime in a PvP fight if you dont have one.
