I ment to say"in pve CM's are overshadowed by all the pure combat classes where in pvp it is almost the other way around"

I remember before the 75% damage reduction in pvp I got killed by BH's eye shot in 2 hits poison killed me in 2 ticks but no one used it because it was too much work for the SAME result. Now it takes eye shot takes 10-20 hits to kill me, but the CM poison still kills me in 2 ticks

Ummm.. yeah, but it would take 20 seconds for those 2 ticks. An MBH should be able to get in 20 eye shots in that same time frame for more damage, so I'm not sure I see the point there.

You must be forgetting that a CM can tag 30 people at once. Every single other profession has a way their specials can be countered without having to actively rely on another person (i.e. doctor). There is NOTHING you can do unless you're a doc or you have one standing directly behind you (providing he heals you before he heals himself).

I don't disagree that there are some issues here, but the arguments seem to keep coming around to the amount of damage that CM DoTs do as beng the problem, when I just won't buy it. You're right, CMs were virtually non-existant before the 75% reduction, because we were, in effect, already 75% reduced compared to everyone else. The reduction just brought everything else in line with us in PvP. It's not our fault if folks got used to it being that way and thinking they should be able to jsut ignore CMs completely in PvP. In that respect I think the balance really is there.

Talk about the amount of damage itself, however, and I just can't seen anyone making a viable case here.

I'd say a good non-spider venom poison does around 400 every 8 seconds. (400 * 30) / 8 = 1500 DPS. I've seen 1000 dmg spider venom poison that ticks every 10 seconds. (1000 * 30) / 10 = 3000 DPS.

Couple that with CMs being able to toss through walls/floors and it basically defeats the purpose of PvP.

The real question here, then is what is the point you are arguing?

(BTW, your damage figures are off. Poisons tick every 10 seconds, not every 8. Feel free to get a CM friend to help you time that if you need to and don;t want to take my word on it.)

If you are arguing LoS issues, that's one thing. If you are arguing range issues, that's another thing. If you are arguing AoE, that is yet another thing. All of these things, IMHO, do have issues that need to be addressed, but in almost all of those cases those issues actually ARE being addressed, will be addressedy by the Combat Revamp or are being looked into by the Devs.

But if you are arguing damage alone, I'm sorry you just aren't convincing me that we have a problem.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Every other skill/special/attack in this game can be effectively countered without relying on an active player running behind you (doc) EXCEPT poison/disease.

Unless you've been living under a rock you'd know that CMs are in control of things like base attacks.

Ok, (400 * 30) / 10 = 1200 DPS and it all hits, there is no reduction.

Well, once again I have to ask... What are you arguing here? Is it that AoE attacks are overpowered? Is it that allowing 30 people to bunch up closely for attacks should be allowed? Is it that there needs to be more resistances added to the game?

Chef food should exist that give users around 90% resist to poison/disease. Don't complain that this is too high since I can make food that resists 93% of *all other damage types* for around 10 attacks.

More resists would be fair, as you say there are very high (in the 90%'s) resists to all other state attack, I agree wholeheartedly (sp?) that there should be one for poisons/disease. As someone else said don't knock peoples powers down, bring others up to the same level.

Maybe you should stop crying and be a doctor. Perhaps you're too ignorant on the fact that you want to be a defense stacker and not pick up some basic skills to cure yourself the poison or the disease.

Look at it this way, if you're one of the many get hit with poison and you heal your own, you can effectively go and kill the Combat Medic instead of come on to this board to moan, groan and **edit** about it. Stop bitching about things that you can control yourself. Let the others worry about themselves. You'll be much better and could acutally complish something if you stop worry about others and do something about it.

How about being on fire? Flame DoTs from flame cone 2 hit for about the same as a poison tick if you're unarmored.

And oh darn did I mention that if you're on Tatooine your screwed. You think poison is bad?

Combat Medics are a combat class. Their primary weapon is poison. How many times do we have to say these thing.

Armor doesn't protect you from poison ... it's not supposed to.

Poison is like smoke if it's thrown inside a base just like mustard gass it would kill everyone inside it.

The fact that if the CM doesn't get disease off that everyone could possibly survive is stupid hey why not implimenting a poison that will kill you almost instantly and that's uncurable for that matter just to piss off the uber hypocritical nerf cryers who would just love for the devs to make their individual characters invulnerable so they can make pvp miserable for everyone and not just the CMs

hrm, lets see

400 damage AoE poison / 10 second tick = 40 dpson the player

Now if 30 players are within the area effect diameter, each player has a chance, depending on potency, to resist the poison. If these players also have SEA/AA/Food resist bonus for poison/disease increases there chances of resistance.

Your usage of 1200 dps as adamage indicator is an incorrect assumption. As your statement tends to fool those lackingtheknowledge of what combat medics can do into believing that 1200 dps is right, which is not the case.

Since when are chefs defense stackers? /boggle

As I've said before even a pure crafter can survive*any* attack from *any* other profession via armor and buffs, neither of which help at all against a CM. You're also assuming I can attack the CM who's usually abusing the LOS issue.
