Thread: Should Bounty Hunters get free Medic skills?
stupid freaking forums, I didnt click that crap...
anyway, yeah, those guys are on drugs. if you want the skill, spend the points, stop being a grabastic idiot ![]()
Just as an FYI:
most of us (BH's) realize that your skills would be infringed on. but, the current version would have us only able to heal ourselves, at increased mindcost. so, the ability would be /selfheal and would act like novice medic /tenddamage self with no stims.
personally, i see that as zero threat to medics, but also as virtually zero advantage to bh's.
even so, i voted "no". i don't think we should have medic abilities w/o spending novice medic skill pts.
At first glance, this seems similar to our grab for surveying skills. However, I'll immediately point out some differences:
- BE and docs are the ONLY crafting class that doesn't get survey as part of their normal progression.
- There is NO precedent for a combat class getting healing abilities at a novice level. The only precedent for any healing at all in combat classes is meditation, at MASTER tka, I believe.
I agree wtih what someone else mentioned above. I think they're going to fix skill attachments and BE tissues very, very soon. Before doing this, however, they've stated that they are REMOVING med use from all of those items. Which means to me that they really don't want people to be able to use stims without taking nov medic.
I suspected they'd do something like this, and tried to point this out to all the BH's that have posted offering ridiculous amounts of credits for +5 or greater med use skill tapes. Oh well, guess they gambled and it looks like they're gonna lose.
"I don't inherently have a problem with adding healing abilities to BH's so we could heal up to say half or 2/3rds as well as a master medic."
OMG. How can these people be serious in these requests. While we're at it, lets give BH the ability to make their own droids too and give them an ability to dance. DUMB!

Oh I wasn't worried about +5 med use skill tapes.
I was more worried about +70 med use sets of outfit.
All I can say is GOOD. Hope they paid arms and leg for these stuff which are now junk.

I agree. There are some exceptions, but BHs, and more recentlycommandos, are the two classes that the type of player I don't like will take. I'm so tired of hearing that one combat class should be able to kill all the others in 1 on 1 combat. Ever hear of strengths and weaknesses?
Typical BH response: *GASP*You mean BHs should have weaknesses? But Boba Fett didn't! And I spent 214 skill points to get here, more than any other master, so I should be better by definition.
My response: Ever hear of dual masters? I spent 232 skill points to get here.
I never seem to get any posts responding to that one. Wonder why.
Does this mean COmbat Medics and Doctors will get LLC certifications?
Justifications can go 2 ways..
The cold, hard truth is this : Jar-Jar Binks has a higher bodycount than Boba Fett.
That is absolutely excellent sig material right there. ![]()

This is the same reason I am opposed to medics/doctors receiving survey by default, although I appear to be alone in this. Also, you should add Scouts and Rangers to the list of crafting professions that cannot self-source their requirements.
Funny how people just like to troll the boards to get people started and in a bundle about the most childish things.
Actually the discussion did start like that thread about giving us first aid 1 but its came to this. Most of us BH's dont want to take away from what medics have. But we are kinda stuck between a rock and hard place being we only have 33 points to spend when we master our profession. So the coorespondent was just trying to make things easier for us, no this fault for throwing around ideas. Anyway, theres a lot of talk about just making Stimpack A's and Woundpack A's no skill req and can be used by everyone. Make them decent so they dont suck too bad and most professions that dont use medic at least have some sort of healing in heat of battle, as little as that is, at least its something.
Has this been brought up on the boards here? i dont scroll through other professions boards so i wouldnt know?
Thanks in advance
