Thread: A BH just trying to float an idea (very simple medic)
I couldnt see why medic skills should be related specificly to BH's.
The only reason I think, for you to propose this is that you want to save the points needed for novice medic so you can take CH instead, to become even more powerfull in PvE, because as I can read from your other suggestions, you couldnt care less about PvP.
But for the record I actually couldnt care less at this point what they change or dont change, the Devs have openly admitted that they dont know enough about the classes and by god it shows, I wouldnt be surprised if you wish were actually granted somewhere down the line.
I doubt you'd get much support on this here.
But seems like everything you ask for is already floating around as Stimp-A requiring 0 Med use (no novice medic) and that one is getting some wide support. Maybe you'd want to spread that one around.
It'll give you lot of what you want, just that now everyone else will benifit too, not just BH.
I'd say you'd have better support there
What makes a bounty hunter more worthy of the ability to heal oneself than any other class? What about a ranger? Sure seems to me that a ranger would be a real "loner" type of a character and would probably want to be able to heal themselves. How about a swordsman? With all the damage they take in battle, you'd expect them to know how to heal themselves.
In short, there is nothing "special" about a bounty hunter (in my opinion, anyway) that would warrant such a change. If you were going to give healing abilities to bounty hunters, you'd have to give them to everyone. And, if you did that, you'd turn every medic in the game into a crafter, plain and simple. It'd be all the would left for them to do since everyone else could heal themselves. What would be the point of bringing along a now worthless medic only to have to split mission payouts with them.
You'd see a mass exodus from the medical professions.
Why not just ask a medic to help you in your BH missions. I would be glad to heal bounty hunters (and I do in Anchorhead) without thought of reward. Just ask for help, and we'll give it to you.

Healing = Medic.
Healing /= Bounty Hunter
i use to be expert bh/master pistoleer/llc2, ican tell you this i owned everyone and anyone in pvp no problem at all, luckily i didnt come across a master combat medic lol, otherwise i would be screwed!
Anyways i think bh is overpowered thats why i got rid of it, it made pvp no fun, no challenge at all, all i would do is get buffed by a doc and kill kill kill everything, little downtime because everything regens fast(im a zabrak with max mind)
BH does not need a medical skill, they would be way too powerful then, what i have to say is make the novice skills suck for bh, i remeber just getting eyeshot made pvp way too ez. Well those are my 2 cents.
Now i am Master doc, working on tka to get (0, 4, 4 ,3) then novice combat medic? Think that would be badass? poison people that run from me?

I tried this and I was marked with a TEF even though I was grouped with the medic. I didn't last too long considering the BH targets right now areridiculously overpowered. This is where the game is truly messed up for a BH. Bounties themselves are supposed to be relatively easy to take down once you get to them, but the real danger of BHing are the repercussions of making a hit.
As for most of the other people, I wish you would have read what I wrote before you decided to give it a one star. You are angry because BH are way too common in PvP right now. I completely agree. You ask why the BHs should get such a skill and a class like rangers should not. Well, I am both a ranger and a BH so I have perspective on this. If I were a rifleman/pistoleer/carbineer/TKA ranger, I would still have plenty of points left over for medic. In addition to this, I would have considerable value for the points that I spent. If you haven't played as a BH (a real BH, not a PvP BH abuser) then you would understand that BH right now is incredibly boring. If you don't understand why I say this, read what I wrote here six weeks ago. Almost all of it still remains true.

I have one lastthing to say in regard to this. BHs are a completely independent class. There should be no reason for a BH needing another person to tag long. I guess what this comes down to is that most people don't understand why BHs are making this request. For the most part, PvE (and largely non-PvP) players are asking for this. If you are a real BH trying to play the role of a BH, you'll know why some of us think this is a good idea. I think that a lot of people are tired of BHing being so poorly portrayed. It makes me sad to think that the role of BH in SWG has been reduced to a simple component of the ultra PvP template. Between the extreme numbers of CHs and BHs, the poor functionality of the DE, and overall lack of feeling of accomplishment, this game disappoints me more and more when I think about it. I just keep hope that they will be able to complete it asthe game should be within the context of the SW universe.![]()

If you go master Carbineer/master Ranger, you'd have 18 skill points left over, which is just barely enough to get some medic skills. If you go master Bounty Hunter, you'd have 33 skill points left over, which is enough to take plenty of medic skills.
Are you saying that your bounty hunter skills are a waste? That they're not worth anything? Frankly, I'd love it if I could use a lightning cannon or set someone on fire with a pistol. In my opinion, if you want to do things like that, you have to give something else up.
Perhaps, the way it is set up now, some of the bounty hunter required skills are a waste. My guess is that, once most bounty hunters get to rifle 4, they never pick up a rifle again. So that would be 14 skill points that you're getting little benefit from. But, being able to use any weapon is some of the "mystique" of a bounty hunter - they're expert marksmen with any weapon. Maybe asking for bounty hunter missions where you had to use a given weapon would be a good request (like a mission where you'd have to drop your target from 90+m away so you'd have to use a rifle).
But, you're certainly not going to get any support from medics for a couple reasons. Really, it has nothing to do with bounty hunters, per se, but it's something that most medics are pretty upset about. Medics are crafters. Plain and simple. We have to do a gob of crafting to be a competent medic and, in order to make any money, we have to craft medicines for sale. Honestly, if this is what most medics wanted to do with their time, they'd have been artisans. To couple that, we're not even capable of gathering the resources that we need to do our crafting without "wasting" 15 points on Novice Artisan. If you were able to heal yourself on your own, you really would turn medics into a true crafting profession and, like I said earlier, you'd see a mass exodus of medics leaving the field - and they'd probably all become bounty hunters.
There is actually a very simple way to fix all of this without trivializing medics.
First, every class in the game needs a way to heal. Whether they get it without medic is up for discussion.
Second, medics need to fit in the scenario however we can't always drag along a medic.
This is my proposal. Create a stim -- let's call it Stim Z for now. Stim Z is usable by everyone. Stim Z has no charges; it's single use. Stim Z also costs about 5x the resource of Stim B to make and delivers Stim B effectiveness. Stim Z are craftable at Master Medic.
Now everyone can have the ability to heal as long as they're willing to pay the price for someone to make it. Stim Z is only useful for non-medic professions while still giving medics cheap, easy access to stimpacks.
A bounty hunter's choice is simple, eiither take the medic along to heal him, get novice medic, or fork over the crazy amount of credits to get stim Z. Substitute any other class with "bounty hunter."
