Maybe I'm being selfish but does it make anyone else sick to hear about all the ppl planning on using the respec to pick CM? I've been a MCM for a long time and it just irks me a little to think we will have a huge influx of new CMs that didn't have to work at it to get there. I liked being in a pretty exclusive group( I felt SPECIAL...lol). I'm just venting a little but wanted to know how some of the other CM vets felt about this. I've worked hard to get good resources for my craft but now anyone who wants to can be just as effective as me after CU do to changes coming and dont even have to labor to get there. So what is going to make the vets diff from the new bandwagon jumpers? I say not a darn thing....

I truly apologize if I have made anyone mad. That was not my intention. Like I said I just wanted to vent and find out if anyone else felt the same way. I have always tried to help anyone who stopped me to ask questions and even have almost died during big fights because I tried to answer tells I got during combat. I know, my own fault but I feel bad not helping anyone trying to make it under the old system.

I totally agree with you. I worked hard to get where I am and spent a lot of money getting good resources. It makes me ill to think someone can pretty much get MCM handed to them for free.

Take up BE 0004, and use your resources to craft enhancers to set yourself apart from wannabes with no resources.

I can understand this sentiment to a certain degree, but there's something you need to understand at the same time.

These people who are planning to respec into CM (not sure if I'll be one yet or not), DID work hard for SOME template. However, the game is changing to such a degree that they now feel compelled to adjust their build and explore these changes. Just because they didn't work hard to become a MCM doesn't mean they didn't work hard to become something else.

The same can be said for a number of different professions. People will be respeccing all over the place, taking up professions that they won't have to grind - but they did endure a grind of some sort, or they wouldn't be able to use the respec option in the first place.

After making MCM, someone told me to go to CU and see what life will be like after the CURB. I've only been MCM for a little over a week, but here's my views...

I worked my butt off through all of medic, new MCM will only need one ladder. Less than 1/4 the work, as the med crafting ladder is as much work as the other 3 ladders combined.

After getting to NCM, I scoured the galaxy for the best resources, especially for the advanced components. The CU is making such that, all will have about the same ability to inflict damage. I vastly prefer crafting. I put a lot of effort into finding correct resources to maximize my potential, and they're taking that away. The lazy and uncaring will be as effective as those who research and put a lot of effort into it.

In a guild where bounty hunters outnuber all other professions almost 3:1, healing wounds was a valuable skill. These guys come back from some bounties with big wounds, but I seem to be getting robbed of my ability to heal those. Another item I put time into getting the best resources so I could maximize my effectiveness. It feels like they're taking the 'medic' out of combat medic.

They took away crafting entirely, and gave it to bio-engineers. From what they have posted, many of them don't want it. And all we're offered is 'enhancers'. As I haven't found any yet on CU, I have no opinion on them really.

My vision of myself in the current system is having a set of sorta grenades, packed with assorted toxins and other nasty stuff to make it easier to take down enemies. My vision in CU is that of magic, and since we apply mostly poison and disease related damage over time... that makes me a sci-fi necromancer. Had I wanted to be a necromancer, I could have as easily stayed in EQ or EQ2. I DO NOT want magic. I want to keep my crafted components.

Combat Medic was only supposed to be a prof my alt used for the occasional PvP, or If someone wan in water. It took me 1 day to grind the medical XP, and about 1 1/2 Days for the crafting because I got lazy. I did it with the macros, but I started actually playing with my CM, and I have been one now for about 8 months I understand some of you enjoy playing the game, and getting xp by actually healing on the battlefield, but for most people, they can easiy grind our prof in a day. I enjoy being apart of the select group as well, but think about it like this, all the jedi with alts are going to respec their grinding BH's to master for FRS.

i understand you are venting, but i think there's a lot of people that feel the CU is "unfair" to those that have labored hard on your profession. i am a master doc on valycn and i feel that way too. i spent millions - not overestimating on resources, just to know that they will be worth rancor dung in a few weeks. so, i dont think its a isolated occurance. players will always flock to the "best" or at times "better" template to gain an edge... this is unavoidable. from creature handlers, to swordsman, to rifleman, to tkm etc.... it keeps changing. i personally am hopping this "rebalance" will really be a rebalance... and the days of dizzy, lunge, attack will be over.

Well Rogue_C, I have to admit that I also am kind of depressed about the influx of "respec cm's"...but for a slightly different reason. I have worked hard to build my cm and just became a mcm over the weekend. I have been grinding for over two months completely atk and trying not to use the tumblers (unfortunately I'm nervous about how hard med xp will be in the cu and tumbled my last few boxes). I have read this forum religiously learning the tricks and advice of all the expert CM's in the game that get posted here. I looked forward to finding some of you guys and you being able to recognize my hard work, take me out in the field and show me some cool tricks that make this the most revered professions in the game!

But now, their will be no way to differentiate me from all the respec wannabee's. I don't have good resources and it's really too late to get them, so I won't be able to show my hard work that way either. I'll just blend in with all the others, but hopefully some of the tricks and strategies I picked up in this forum will show through and as the wannabee's go on to decide they "wannabe" something else...I'll be able to get respect as a TRUE Combat Medic!

Alot of professions are going the same way especially BH. I worked hard to master doctor i have previously mastered CM and many other professions. I think that many people will WASTE their points on CM only to find its not want they really want. In all fairness the things about uber resources is irrelevent you see this is a Combat Balance meaning they are making it equal. From now on your going to need to use your head and not just farm for the best stuff. I know you were venting but you arnt the only proff taking a huge hit like this.

One thing, I doubt you'll see a thread like this in the Teras Kasi forum!

OK I understand other profs worked hard to get where they are today and I do not discount that any, as I tried many b4 becoming a CM. It's not the work that really bothers me. It's that when I see a CM now I feel a comradery (spelling?) towards that person. That will be lost due to free respec. Will I respec? Maybe but it will be to ADD to my CM. Say I pick up (and this is just for example don't scream "You won't have SPs to do that") BH. Will I expect vet BH to treat me as a wannabe? Certainly.

It just feels like I won't know who my REAL brothers and sisters are anymore. Over time that feeling will go away, sure hope so. I think CM is awesome now and HOPE it stays that way. Are RM, TKM and MSM awesome now? Yes they are IMHO but I feel the same way about CMs or I would not have stayed as long as I did. I want to stay and will try as long as I feel I still can contribute in a big way. Magic healing and disease.... don't like it. Losing my crafting..... don't like it. Being equal to everyone else new and old to CM.... don't like it. There are WAYYYYY better CMs out there now than me and I'm sure they aren't happy about becoming my equal soon. lol

I will shut up now but to close..... Some things about CU I am looking forward to, some Im not. What I will miss the most is the Brotherhood of CMs that I feel now........

What's that supposed to mean? I purposely TRIED not to insult anyone. Or was that remark not directed at me?
