Yeah... good idea. Personally, even with the different floor plans and sizes, the houses all look alike on each planet, with the exception of the generics, but even they get old after a while.

Customizable walls (interior AND exterior) would add a lot of flavor to player cities.

My personal request would be to let me put furniture down on my balcony. What good is having that lovely spot on the second floor if you can't USE it for anything? - Would also increase the variety of furniture from vendors. We could add BBQ Grills, Patio Furniture, hanging plants, etc.

a customization tool would be great for this purpose. An architect would make it, a master artisan would have to provide components for it. DE's, MA's and SW's already have this option.. it seems like a logical choice to allow a tool to do such a thing. Since all the current tools have 2 options.. this one could have Paint and Carpet.

my idea is more like Horizons (Empire of Istaria) with their upcomming house (if its not already been placed) building system.

When you decide to buy yourself a home it starts out as a plain old plot of earth. nothing on it but dirt and grass. You must build your own home. customized to the fullest... so to speak.

When you first begin to create your house you have a varied sized plot of earth (you buy the size of land from the government. in a city or outside of a city, you are given a set of construction tools. sorta like Sims if anyone has played it. you custom build your home and select the theme. Stone, wood, plaster, straw/dirt, etc. placing windows where you want and doors where you want. on that plot of earth you can create as many buildings as you want (as long as they fit) and you are also given the option to designate them certain things such as 'storage, home, silo, etc.) each different theme for a building allows you to place certain objects inside and outside.)

Get tired of the old look og staw and dirt? revamp the house using the sign post outfront (like Galaxies managment terminal) there you can change the colors, look, and in cases the layout. if you have the materials needed.
For galaxies you could use the terminal and provided you have a kit or the materials from an artisan/architect you can change your house over. changing colors (new ones if the devs would be so inclined so were not stuck to Naboo/generic on Naboo or Generic/Corellia (which look VERY similar).

the rest is just an idea. although it probably wont be done because companies dont like it when other companies even slightly copy their stuff.
