not really a bug as much as part of it isnt implemented yet... im sure they wrote the old lot checking system thinking that a situation where something needed to be placed while already taking up lots would never happen.

in any case im gald they are finally putting this in... it was ovbious since beta that players needed this option.

Cities die, you meet new people, the game changes.... Moving your house and all its items is a must. This really opens up the the possibility of freeing the landscape of dead structures.

Now that a house can be packed up and placed into your datapad, making things like factories and havesters do the same wouldnt be a huge problem. Hopefully the devs will start "auto packing" structures on accounts that have been inactive for some time.

Server mergers might be on the way as well, this would make this a lot more simple. Those that say it will never happen need to take a look at some of the older MMORPGs... its not a question of IF it will happen, its a question of WHEN it will happen.

I'm quite sure this feature is a necessary prerequisite to the abandoned structure cleanup. It's a good idea to keep the structures fully replaceable, just in case the structure isn't really abandoned. There are some valid reasons entirely beyond a player's control for not logging in for a very long time.

Saego, Wanderhome.

So true, long ago I was very sick and lost all my factories and I had all my resources and crates in them.

I was doc and it nearly made me quit the game because it was months of works as organics, specially nice avian and herbivore meats where so difficult to get.

Wow this is a great feature and perhaps we can hope it is the first step in the DEV's working on the condemed housing problem.

Have you seen the server populations recently?? Last night 4 were at 'Very Heavy'...seems to be a lot more people about now...either that or SOE have changed the settings to make it look busier than it is.

This makes me downright giddy lol... We've got a very nice guild hall that it took me an extremely long time to decorate. Every room had work put into it (except the crafting room lol, that was basically drop and run but excluding that) and the problem we now face is that the hall is on Naboo but our player city is on Rori. IMHO I'd rather just leave the hall on Naboo but we're gonna put it to a guild vote and see if people want to move it to the city. This new feature thrills me to death because I was seriously dreading having to move and redecorate the hall, if this goes through well I won't have to be stressed about it anymore : )

this brings up an interesting question....can I pull up my tatooine house and drop it on naboo for instance? I dont see how it would work because of furniture placement etc. so this will be a limited feature at best. unless say a "loot" container were added to houses and the items moved to it during teh packing process...then when unpacking a player can choose the planet and the house changes based on it.

I may be reading too much into this, but this also seems to point at the Devs getting ready for cleaning up the seemingly infinite numbers of abandoned structures and possibly even server consolidations. Definately a move towards cleaning up the game, I've been looking for a good reason to move out of this ghost town I've been living in.

They would never have had a top priority put on that if it wasn't for cleaning the servers.

They need space for the new theme parks and they need a way to cleanup old structures without deleting them and keeping the possibility of old players to come back.

They had better do guild halls too!!...all my stuff is in 2, but ill be making a museum with 1 and then move it if all the clutter from around Coronet is ever cleared.

now you will be able to take your museum on the road and visit different player cities as a touring exhibit. Just need to get you a vendor and some trinkets to sell at the gift shop

Hmmm... very good.Given that feature, you could say that player houses which have not been used for 1-2 months are automatically stored in the datapad in order to save server lag and building space...

Would allow my guild to rebuild our playercity... we're unable to do it because of 50 buildings 30 belong to players who aren't active anymore.

That would be great, wouldn't it?
