breath of heaven you can take once. But as soon as it wears off you can drink it again. There is no unbuffed time. In addition my alu boh is in stacks of 19 about 90% of the time. The new BoH is in stacks of 1.

with the new boh, if you pump the buff that high, you are looking at a 30-40 min unbuffed period.

ok, heres a total comparison on one combine of breath of heaven.

Old Breath of Heaven my avg is 560buff for 550seconds (9minutes) in 19 serving stack size. Resources used 270. Total points of buff per combine is 31,920pts (560x3x19) for a total of 10,450seconds or 174 minutes. Can be continuously taken with no down time.

New Breath of heaven 250 buff for 11 minutes in 1 serving stack size. Resources used 100. Total points of buff per combine is 750 points for a total of 660seconds or 11 minutes. Causes downtime if used more than once.

Do you still think the new is better?

I'm scared $hitless of this revamp... I've spent months and MILLIONS of credits getting a large customer base. I've been weening them onto food and drink OTHER than FISHAK and BoH. Ryschate? Ever hear of it? Its a BoH Lite I can Experiment to get it up to +350s across the same stats as BoH and its a food. I sell Ormachek by the crate...Thaktillo, Veghash (with BE components its just as good as Vegeparsine), Picca Thundercloud, Sunburn... and I'm always experimenting and trying NEW stuff.. IMHO only a LIMITED number of food/drinks need fixing. I think by and large some Chefs should take the blame for not trying to sell new foods!!! Please don't nerf my Fishak business...its not all my business but it's the draw that gets the players to look at the other foods.

As much as I want to see Seafoods, Mollusks, and Milk in large lots... I'd do without this revamp altogether if it means losing my core foods.

Pls, no changes, not these ones on the test server.

My suggestions:

- Fix small things first, like the appearance of our stuff. Everything looks the same, not great for rp.

- Why dont leave everything as it is right now and only make an option to integrate be stuff in ALL our buffs?

Would be great imo.

90% of the Chefs are happy right now. I think since last september more and more people apreciating our stuff. And now the devs wanna change everything... im sad.

It seems that one of the biggest benefits is also our bane. We (as chefs) know that we cannot compete with doctor buffs. I feel that this was one of the primary reasons the "revamp" was done. I admit, I was excited about the revamp, but after hearing that some of the items that made chef's so popular (read: can't find a dancer? *gulp*fishak*gulp*). I realize that some of the new foods/drinks have not been made with top quality resources, but c'mon. People know us for our Mind and Secondary buffs.

What baffles me, is that this "revamp" seems more like a New Class that we "mastered for free". We were not offered new schematics to compliment the great schematics we already have. We were robbed of what keeps us in business, and given schematics that NO-ONE other then the TC chefs (and chef board visitors) know about.

Anyhow, I will see what happens and if I can rebuild my customer base, but if not....

oh well. I guess that's why we have the ability to change classes.

My vote is to hold back the patch and get a little more feedback from the player base before implementing something that appears to be "half-*****"

I was thinking about something...

I have come around and realized that, with the new schematics, average quality resources will give us weaker stat buffs overall. Mind you, I don't think the buffs SUCK, they're just not quite as good as what we have now.

However, a lot of the numbers being tossed around don't include additives, and since the addition of a food additive slot to every schematic is one of the big changes...

It seems that the new schematics will be somewhat weaker than current ones sans additive, but when additives are present, the new stuff will be much better than what we can do now.

additives still dont make it better than we can do now...with the possible exception of the brandy. Altho they do make it much more palatable.

Ive made several posts regarding the additives being so important to making the food worthwhile. I love additives...I use BE comps now when i can get them. My customers love them. Im concerned about 2 things about the additives..First that the food is not enough to make people want it unless it has an additive. Now if I have pate with and withoutnutrients...people will buy the nutrients first because they want it. But if its not there, they will buy the normal. I just worry that the new stuff without the components isnt strong enough alone to get people to use it. Im afraid if they dont see the BE enhanced they just wont buy. Obviously thats just a possibility that may or may not happen.

Assuming that does happen, BEs are going to have to make load and loads of components. Since our stuff is so highly consumable we go through it very fast. I could guess that I make anywhere from 5-10k food/drinks per day. (that may drop after patch dunno) That means Im gonna need 5-10k components...the components all require meat...some use domestic meat..and someone mentioned some use milk? Using these resources there is no way a BE is going to be able to meet our production needs making products that use these resources. To which some will say ok due to supply and demand the prices will rise on these so that chefs can keep tem on the vendor etc etc but what happens when you just cant get supplements? Your BE is totally out of meat or someone orders 50 crates of food. If no one is interested in food without supplements,a chef could possibly have a very difficult time earning a living.

Of course Im not saying this will happen. Just that its a possibility.

My 2 cents: LEAVE CHEF AS-IS. I LOVE IT. If anything, add some schematics or skill mods to EXISTING food.

To me this patch means:

- Some neat new food abilities.

- A lot more downtime without buffs (stomach timer)

- Loss of mind buffs, the mind stim is nice and all, but it's not helping you when somebody hits you through the armor hole bug for full damage to your mind pool. Game over.

I think the dev team did a good job adding things, but this revamp does not belong in the game before the combat system HAM changes. It just doesn't fit into the puzzle yet.

I don't think they should make any profession changes of this sort until they have Character Copy working. I just can't make an informed decision, I don't have the time to go to Test and make a Master Chef to see if I like these changes or not. Anything less than Master, would not tell me if I will like the changes when I get them on Live.

They should just fix the Milk and experimentation "less than great success lowers values" bugs, fix the Food/Drink status bar updating and whatever other issues there are then wait until Char Copy.

I like the changes for the following reasons:

a) They give us our own market. Now we won't have to compete with doctor buffs and spice.

b) Far fewer useless schematics.

c) Longer durations. I think a lot of people shy away from food because they don't want to spend credits on something that's only going to last a couple minutes. Right now, you better go to the bathroom before consuming any food, because it will wear off by the time you get back.

I have heard some people say they will stop buying food if these changes do through, but I think they will quickly change their minds once they see them in practice. Just go to the commando forums and see how paranoid they are of people using Flameout.

So yeah, I definitely say go with the changes.

My opinion is still that if this new chef class was made to go with the new HAM system, we need to wait until that is live before the new chef revamp Is put into play. Other wise, as one person put it, we are being re-vamped for a different game. Right now it's important to have mind stat buffs and that is the niche we fill. With the new system it's not supposed to be as much an issue, unfortunately we are going to have to play with the current HAM system for a few months after the chef patch goes live. Not to mention, we don't even get to test our new foods out with the HAM system, maybe if we could see on TC how great our new foods work with the new HAM we wouldn't be so skeptical even if we had to put up with it on live for a month or two.

I have noticed all the schematics for our best sellers are gone with this new re-vamp. Is that on purpose to make us think different? In some ways it's a blessing. I don't want someone buying my Fishak off my vendor thinking it's the old Fishak that buffs mind, when it's really the new Fishak thatgives +9 to droid assembly (just making that up). Course, that won't happen, cause , like every player reads the boards and the descriptions you put on your vendor, right?

And while I will miss the buff of Glucose Pate, I won't miss the hunt for domesticated meat. It's one of the most requested items from my fellow guild members, lol. The meat can be a pain to get.

Maybe a compromise could be done. Keep in our best seller schematics for now, like Fishak and Pate, since they are going to be deleted eventually anyway, to go with the current HAM system, change the other schematics as planned for the revamp, then when the new HAM system kicks in, delete the shcematics they were going to cut anyway and are more for the old system. This would be the best of both worlds and we could gradually introduce people to the new foods and wean them off the old, while still having some good selling items until the HAM changes come into play.

I am concerned ,too about the one hour stomach timer. Maybe skill mods and healing foodscould be on a one hour (better half hour) stomach timer, but Stat mods can be eaten as soon as they wear off. Sort of a compromise.

Until we see the new HAM system we just don't know. I hate to convince the devs to not change chef, only to find that our current system would be outdated and useless with the new HAM changes. I also have members of my pa , who don't use food now, excited about the skill buffing food and already putting in orders.

This doesn't really apply to this board, butwhoever said Entertainers don't go into the fieldto give buffs, maybe it's because on one asks them. In fact I have heard from entertainers that they are told that some people won't let them go out with them thinking they are useless in the field. In my PA we consider having entertainers along as important as havingmedical personelalong, so much so that my second character is a Pikeman/Musician. They can re-apply your mind buff in camp and heal your mind wounds. Entertainers are invaluble in PVP where mind disease and mind poison are flying about. In pvp we try to make sure each group has a dancer and a musician as well as healers. Maybe more entertainers wouldn't feel like being AFK all the time if they were included in more groups.
