Not only that, if you happen to quaf Aitha while on a Muon Gold downer, you actually have the value of the intended heal **subtracted** from your mind pool.

  • 1000 Mind natural

  • 1500 Mind with Muon for 10 minutes.

  • 500 Mind with the Muon downer for 3 minutes.

  • 380 Mind while on the Muon downer if I consumeone shot of Aitha with a heal value of 120.

  • 260 if you do it again, and so on. Didn't test to see if this would incap.

  • Normally at the expiration of the downer, you get a 500 point mind heal. I was hoping that I'd get back the Aithapoints that were so buggishly taken from me. Didn't.

There is a Chef drink that heals mind also, I can't recall the name, and I have not tested that (I'm not a Chef, just a Master Artisan). Some of you may want to test that also.

Edit: Just tested. It *will* incap. On the downer, take enough Aitha, down you go. Also, the numbers I give above aren't so cut and dried. The Aitha I'm using to test with has a heal value of 148. Each time I consumed an Aitha while downered, my combat tab shows the following:

"You feel refreshed. 148 points of mind damage have been healed."

However, not only was I not healed, but the damage I took wasn't even equal to 148, like I thought on first noticing it. Damage #'s floating above my head were, on 4 trys:

  • -91

  • -178

  • -348

  • -243

I can't explain why the damage I took varied so widely, but those are the numbers.

I think it possible that Aitha is bugged in a way that is actually beneficial, so I'm afraid to metion it b/c we all know that the Devs are a lot quicker to fix bugs that help people than they are ones that hurt.

I get healed for too much if I use Aitha while I'm on the upper from Muon Gold. Roughly a double value. I can heal as much mind in one shot of Aitha while on the Muon Upper as I can from a Blue Milk all other things being equal.

Is is possible that the heal value calculated by Aitha and Blue Milk is based on some function of the intrinsic heal value of the drink and also a player's 2ndary mind stats? When my secondaries are artificially low because of a Muon Gold downer, I get hurt by the drinks instead of healed. However, if mysecondaries are artifially high because of aMuon Gold upper, then I get healed for way too much.

Take that for what it's worth,

We have blue milk (completely redundant item), vagnerian foc/will [food], brandy m/foc/will for mind stats;

We have Accarragm [drink](great item imo) for a/q/sta;

Then we have these seemingly incomplete, near the mark, almost, but not quite worth while making, foods:

Kiwik Clusjo for q/sta

Won Won for str/con

And finally thefoods that make you wonder if someone ran out of ideas and needed some fillers (forgive the pun):

Ahrisa for focus (entirely redundant)

Gruuvan for str

scrimpi for quick

Seriously who will ever make any of these last 3 except for a nice vendor showcase window?

At the same time I see people queueing up (yeah single file lines 10 deep) for Doc for 15k a pop in coronet.

I had become doc so I wouldnt have to stand on lines or wait for wound healing

I became chef so that I wouldnt have to stand on lines or wait for buffs

For hardcore pvp you might need 3k+ hp in all stats but for the average player somemodest food/drink ham combos would be a refreshing addition to the game.

Atm I can make 2 of the 3 items I consider the best chef items: brandy, accarragm and garrmorl.

I consider garrmorl to be comletely dependant on ingredients that make it impossible as a consideration for consumption and marketability. So you can trash that one as far as I'm concerned.

Leaving aside for the moment the snowcake, thaktillo, veghash, granlinyn, synthesteak, which are all good practical items I'm still left with the feeling that chef is not what I envisioned embarking on it.

Keep the casks, keep the barrels, keep the plates, trenchers and troughs. I'd like to see an item that can modestly boost my stats evenly and practically so that I can survive in the wild w/out joining the buff parade in coronet every 2 hours.

Blue milk? Completely redundant?

It's my most popular drink (yes, more than brandy) and my second character (rifleman) wouldn't go out without it.

maybe im missing something but why use the blue milk and take up stomach space when you can get enhanced mind/focus/will with brandy not just the heal?

lol and how much milk are you getting per week and where are you getting it from?

sure i can make blue milk by hand and have plenty to go out and work my rifleman with all day but a decent factory run to supply demand ...I dont think so

I've been grinding TKA (yes yes, I'm a holowhore) and doing pickets on Dantooine. Plainswalker pickets can all be milked, and I get between 60-110 milk per each, which ends up around 750-900 total milk per lair. I milk em, I kill em, I milk the next spawn, etc. I've gotten about 20k milk doing this, and the stuff on Kauri right now is top notch stuff (OQ 940ish, PE like 850ish). It works. I'm stockpiling it for a time when there's no good milk, and then I'll sell to a BE or Chef =). Getting milk isn't as hard as everyone seems to think.

I use brandy (and canapes, lovely that they are food) and then top up mid-fight with the milk. The combination is deadly. The milk is also much more useful if you only have intermittant mind problems (for example a head-targetting mob) as a straight forward heal to save you from incap.

In terms of quantity, I'd say 3k of the same milk per source-shift is easily doable by one person. With people collecting for me, I got 6k of a decent quality milk in no time at all. I bought a further 3.5k from someone at 7cpu. Can I keep up with demand? No, but I can't with brandy either. If I spent all my time focused on these drinks, I guess I could, but I'm easily bored.

What's killing me on milk resources is Bantha Butter, not Blue Milk.

Sorry to derail like that, feel free to delete my posts to keep this on subject.

Blue Milk: has the same issue with Aitha if you drink it during the moun downer, instant incap. Although my tester felt it was not a bug ("serves you right for cheekily drinking blue milk whilst on a downer").

Parwan Nutricake: if you eat one whilst still "tired" you get a success message that implies you are burstrunning followed by the "too tired" message. You do not burstrun but the cake is used up. This means that unless you are watching your spatial carefully, you don't dare use two in succession (wasting the second if you haven't recovered yet).

Ihave a problem and I don't know if it's a bug, or something I'm doing wrong!

I have Novice Chef. I made about 5-7 sopyros last night. I'm using a Food/Chemical Crafting Tool (and trying the same items with the Weapon, Droid, General Item Crafting Tool) and after making several different foods from Novice Chef I had no food crafting xp. What am I doing wrong? I am getting no xp. I'm so lost! I'm new to crafting professions and wanted to try chef.

Same for me. i have novice chef - using personal chem/food crafter with a public chem/food crafting station and the only item yielding xp is alcohol at a rate of 32xp per, any other item I make gives no xp, i have loged out and back in but this has not worked either. this has been the same for days now.

Same here, tried making 4-5 different foods several times a day over the course of the last 4 days. (obviously I've logged in and out in 4 days) I'm still not getting any chef crafting xp. That xp bar is definately stuck.

A couple ofthings about not getting xp :

1. Make sure the foods you are crafting are from novice chef and not domestic arts (artisan).

2. If you are using a macro to end the food production (like most grinders do), standing near a public/private crafting station will screw it up. The reason is the macro are not designed to deal with the option to create a schem or make aprototype.Stand away from any crafting station and then craft.
