ok let's try this again using proper reading comprehension skills.

Now, would you use these as they are now?

Yes

Which food stats are most important to you? (Buff Amount, Filling, Time of Buff,or Quantity)?

All of them except perhaps quantity.

Would you buy this food as it is now w/ no BE components or better resources if there was nothing else to be found?

yes

What are the Top Ten of these foods for you?

BOH and anything else that buffs as many secondaries as possible.

Please List your Name, Server, In Game Professions, and when you started playing the game. General comments also welcome, but please try to stay on topic as much as you can.

I see your point, being that all classes are fully dependant on others I would see this as not so much band-aid'n the situation as opposed to being the first step in the combat re-vamp. Givin that we havn't gotten there yet I definately see the concern. Although, I would want to think that chefs would be more apt to embrace the changes as it bring new customers into the market who previously would have no need for the foods as they were. The current combat system being extremely flawed and the changes to come I'm glad that this is coming ahead of time. You all got your work cut out for you, and maybe that is the reason why this update comes before the others insofar as the adjustments that need to be made. 90% of combat persons will need to relearn everything they know and use very shortly, the other 10% will make a seamless transition, in part due to the efforts of their favorite chef

It would seem odd that you need to bear the load for the time, but I can also see why. I do recall awhile ago chefs being up at arms due to the fact that they had no special implied purpose. Ya'll got one now, but I'm sure you can also remember the days when the entertainer buffs were much easier to come by, and the demand for the mind buffing foods was primaraly spice. Now as the demand shifts once again, soon the mind buffs will be more importaint to medics than combat personel (to a degree).

I just see alot of negative reaction to things that everyone wants to fix because it's broke, we learn to deal with the broke, now we resist the fix. Besides, it would seem that alot of chefs belive wholeheartedly that this is nothing but a nerf. And if there is a flux of people leaving the profession there will be a serious supply and demand problem for alot of the simple (read as non mainstream) stat buffs which can prove to be extremely helpful for the people climbing their profession tree.

So my fear, along with an unbalnced food market. Is that the dev's might get scared into rolling back, even just a little bit, the changes. If that happens everyone will be effected.

You obviously dont get the point.I think the changes are bad to be made in a system they werent designed for. I think that until the system and revamp are together chef is being hung out in the cold without much of a purpose. I think being useful and serving a purpose is fun.I enjoy making things that people WANT and LIKE and making them well. Im well aware that you think all these are things are the way the new patch is but I currently dont feel the same about it.

Once again I have to try to explain to you that your opinion is not a fact. I do not see fun in being less useful to others than I am now. My opinion of fun is not making a lot food that looks pretty and putting it on my vendor that gets visited once a week when someone walks into my shop wondering what it is. I know this. Why do I know this? Because I was a chef when chef was broken. For me fun means that it looks goods, its nice stuff and people want it use it some way. Theres no freudian slip here. Theres only you thinking that your opinions are the only ones that can be right and that your idea of fun is the only one thats right.

I reserve the right to think milking cows is fun if thats what I like to do (sorry scouts couldnt resist). You dont have any right to say that you idea of fun has to be my idea of fun or else that means I just want money.

Its a da*n good thing that everyone in the world doesnt think the exact same way imo. Its also a da*n shame that some people always think they are the only ones entitled to opinionsand everyone else is certainly evil.

Im really tired of arguing semantics with you. You think the patch rocks. I think it sucks. Youve given your reasons and Ive given mine. I respect your right to think the patch rocks. I wish youd shutup and respect my right to think it sucks.

I said that if you were concerned with fun factor and creativity of patch only, and not money, you should be impressed by this revamp. I did not say that you have to like this new system. It just seemed to me that you are more interested in sales and making money than actually making this profession different, inventive and creative. I was merely pointing out that the way you've been posting recently, one might think that you were only interested in large sums of money for what you make (Which we'll still make post patch).

This patch ISN'T a nerf, I never said it was. It is a change to balance the profession. I'm not speaking out of both sides of my mouth, I'm expressing my opinion on this patch. Balance does not equal nerf.

Btw, the post before this one is awesome. GREAT points!

You really need to take another look at all the previous "Balance changes" by the devs and notice that it is easier for the Devs to Nerf something than fix the rest and this is just another exmple of that.

Chefs will be SCREWED for the several months that it takes the devs to get around to changing the rest of the sytesms and if you think that is comming next month you are sadly mistaken. Keep in mind tht the chef fix is comming in the January Patch but guess what...... that patch isnt going to be live till most early Feb. so that feb batch if we get one will be sometime in march

We all know that any change the devs impliment you will agree with but trying to claim that this isnt a nerf but is a reblance that reduces the usefullness of the foods that chefs can make is counterintuitive.

oh no wait i want a crate of that food that gives me 2700 more weapons xp once per hr. oh wait no i lose 20 times that amount by the devs forcing me to use speicals to kill 3-4 animals then sit for a few do something else in the hopes that someday the devs actualy lower HAM costs like they claim is the plan

Doesn't it follow that if we were more than just different, inventive, and creative, in fact reaching into the realm of fun, good, and beneficial, the sales and making money would be a very good indication of that? Just an opinion.

New Coke was different, inventive, and creative. So is the McGriddle. Different, inventive, and creative only worked for one of these two. The other one was swiftly un-nerfed and met great rejoicing from all.

This would be a good comparison if we saw sales results. But we can't say these new foods will be a failure with so many people excited by the changes.

So by that logic, its perfectly ok for me to say one might think you are an obnoxious knowit all that crawled out from under a rock when this revamp came up who insists he is right about everything and that others opinons are invalid that just likes to agitate people more than anything else?

Im not actually "saying" that...just that one might think that.

Jerecki. I feel like Im arguing with my child. This is called arguing semantics and Im not going to do it anymore. Its obvious you are the only one on this forum that has a clue about anything. I think I shall follow suit of the others previously and

*worships the ground under your precious feet*

Why do you insist on just agitating people? I accept that you have an opinion. Now leave me the %*&^ alone. I do not expect you to accept that other people can think differently from you. Youve shown time and again that you incapable of any thought process regarding a subject that is different from your own thinking.

My conversation with you is over as it has all been one sided anyway, just like everyone elses conversations with you have been. Feel free to respond with another little play on words if youd like. Im not to worried about accusations being made from you. Most of the people that are regulars around here know the kind of person I am and you trying to say crap about me isnt going to change that. Anyone thats bothered to read thestuff youve been posting knows the type person you are. You do quite a good job looking foolish on your own. Good day Jerecki.

On Eclipse, from the people I have spoken with who have some idea what they are talking about, there is about the same number of revamp supporters as revamp haters. We can not say these new foods will be a success with so many people hating the changes, just to play devil's advocate, and share my thoughts.

Have any other chefs announced preorders to their customers with a link to the food revamp spreadsheet and food effects thread? I did so with the caveat that my resources will be much better than this and therefore the posted results should only be very conservative estimates. I'll update them all on BoH as well, but so far, I have lots of orders for anything crafting related (Orma, Pyollian, etc.) a couple of dizzy and dodge orders, a bunch of Vasarian, and a handful of unarmed damage (my guild has several tkm's). Considering we have nearly 70 members and literally every profession represented at least twice at the master level (with the exception of Bounty Hunter and Politician, we have no MBH and one Master Politician), this is more than a little disappointing. The CH'es don't want the pet buffs, and everyone else is relatively disappointed with their class's buffs (entertainers and medics especially) other than the TKM's, who love it all.

The only boon that I see so far in this revamp is that to provide these, I'll be stimulating theharvestables economy quite a bit. My customers really tend to pay attention to the amount of time they get buffed for each crate of food they get (425 BoH per crate X 8 minutes each is very nice for them). Since nothing high level, or heavily ordered for myself, seems to be even remotely high-quantity (BoH comes to mind) I will have to use BE enhancements and barrels to get things up as high as I can, and even then, my customers are already crying to me that they'll need to order five times as much at a time just to keep up their buffs for the same amount of time.

I don't really know where I was going with all this (it is late and I am still grieving for that Swedish Chef ) but anyway...we're not going to have sales figures that are reliable and stable until at least a month after the combat revamp goes Live. That's a long time from now. I do not see why people seem to be content to sit and wait without even making a fuss that this means we are stuck for an entire publish (as a length of time, between 4-6 weeks, generally)or longerwithout any judge of our future as a class other than what TH deems to tell us will be changing.

I guarantee it won't be hard numbers and it won't be the details that we need until it goes on test, and by then, who knows how far gone we will be? I'm not saying there is no chance of success for this patch, far from it. But it is quite a way's away still, and it's at least one full patch development cycle away, and for THE biggest system in the game, combat. They WILL take their time on this next publish, and we WILL be left in the cold for the majority of it.

Stopping now because I have no fancy conclusion. See ya later!

Yeah, but with the whole "Prepatch food now won't even come out of the crate, let alone with bugged stats" debacle, I am giving daily updates on all the info people should know just in case.
