and to "force" us, the chefs and master chefs, to be dependent on artisans, tailors and BE's? Go figure! I don't play this game to be dependent on anyone...I can do that in real life!

This is the same argument as the "forced PVP" that is going around. Noone is forcing you to use additives. Noone is forcing you to make drinking with something higher than the current amount. Suppostedly Brandy comes out in about 7 charges. Why is that so horrible? Didn't Fishak come out close to that?

There is no reason why a Master Chef can't still sell food. Being dependent would mean that you can't make food without their help. That isn't true at all.

Sorry to see a lot of long time chefs go, but if people are leaving based on some little issues like not being dependent on others then there was probably other issues that you were having problems with before this patch. The patch was just want pushed you over the edge, not what got you to the edge.

Dranak - this is GREAT news for you if what I read yesterday is accurate. Someone posted that you can grind Soypro (I think) which takes 20 resources and gives 80 exp. You can then eat it YOURSELF to get an extra 40 experience. Also, since this is a component, it doesn't have any filling, so you can eat as much as you want.

Compare that to grinding Mist which took (iirr) 80 resources and gave you 120 exp. Plus, if you were grinding Mist, you would have tons of wheat and Corn. All you'll need is the vegies, and knowing how many "good" schematics now use wheat, you can probably trade wheat for veggies. Offer a 3:1 trade (i.e. you give 30,000 wheat for 10,000 veggies - any quality, any type) and I'm sure you'll get all you'll need for one tree.

Well, not quite. The original announcement sometime last week was that the patch was going to be released on the 12th. TH's post about releasing the patch today was posted yesterday evening. So anyone who was expecting an extra day to either gather more resources for post-patch food (::raises hand:, grinding through the last of their wheat/corn on Ithorian Mistsor doing up some last-minute Angerian are were caught a little flat-footed.

But really, I think we should put all the blame on this guy.

You guys are really funny.. before the patch I had a some Vegash and some Sunburn. I still have the sunburn since I think it's not that great, so Vegash was the only food I really used. With the patch there are many foods I really like and will use.
Actually I was even thinking about becoming Chef myself if skillpoints allow me to.

It seems some people are only happy if they can complain *shakes head*
Now you can 1-star me if you like..

The chef changes rock!!! The new foods are awesome... going to get a much larger client base now... many people are very excited about the new foods... I had people queuing up outside my house last night for taste tests. I gave away heaps of freebies and tried different BE components with our local BE. Can make some great stuff!

One thing I've notived is that it's much more economical to make small glasses than large (at least with my resources).

Anyway, moan all you want and leave the profession... more clientelle for us who stay then.

Cheers, Nefer.

rofl..hmm where t0 put my 100 stacks of DIFFERENT resources in my house that holds 150 . I can understand the BE tissue thing because they had no purpose before really except in clothing. 1 food used them. BUT as far as the master artisan thing for componets sux i have so many resources as it is they're hard to keep track of now i need another 10 for these componets?. also I dont agree goin live with a patch until the bugs are fixed..2 magor bugs are the barrel/filling ..$hit thats half the profession lol get stuff right. Anyways chef is back to the same old crap of having 50 schematics and using only 5-6 lol..who the hell wants a +50 action buff ? But i do like a few changes so i will stick with it for awile and see what happens

I'm a Bio Engineer, and since the patch affects me I thought I'd check these forums to understand how you guys use our suppliments.

First off.. wow... you guys seem to cry a lot? Here's my perspective on food, and its pretty simple. My main character is a fighter, I rely on food buffs to keep my specials cost down. I must spend tens of thousands a week on various food that has never been bio enhanced and I was happy. Now I see the example on the chef revamp article:

New Breath of Heaven (Average Experimentation)
Strength, Quickness, Focus
+500 for 10 minutes
Yield 3, Filling 60

The heavy nutrition tissue is called "Intelligent Nanonutrients," made by a Bio-Engineer. Using an additive made with this tissue in Breath of Heaven will result in a +1200 buff, instead of +500! That's without maxing out experimentation.

First off +500 is more than I got before (about +400), so yay for new food! Then I see the BE bonus and I nearly wet myself, a buff for +1200!

So from my point of view you can make the exact same type of foods as before (in some cases better now), but if you want to make them even better than you can use BE suppliments (like you could before).

So whats changed that makes you all of a sudden need BE help to survive?

Anyway, I'd be interested in seeing how much you are being charged by BEs for light/medium/heavy suppliments if this is your main concern, because I think most prices are WAY overcharged and maybe this is whats causing you problems.

I myself am looking forward to new business relations with Chefs, as it makes the whole game more fun when you have friends and people to interact with. Doing things on your own for a quick buck is just boring

Couldn't agree more KindredUK... I think my BE is going to charge me about 200 per medium additive (that's for ones made with good resources I believe). I don't know how that'll affect the cost/client base of the final products... only time will tell.

I look forward to it though. And as you say... it's much more fun playing when you have to interact with other people. Solo players shouldn't play MMPORGs... I mean... MP = Multi Player after all.

Cheers, Nefer.

200 for a medium nutrient is VERY good price, considering it needs: 35 organic, 25 flora food, 20 creature food.

I presume thats someone in your guild not having to buy resources? Meat usually goes for 10c/u for the good stuff, thats 200 credits alone. 60 flora is obviously cheaper since its harvestable, but that needs power to run as well.

I haven't looked properly at my resource costs yet, but I'll probably be selling medium nutrients for about 450c each if I buy my resources myself. But that will most likely change with the type of meat cost.
