People forget this is a GAME.. if it is not worth your TIME to harvest things for no CREDITS then fine.. for me.. it is about FUN of playing a GAME...

You are absolutely right. Unfortunately the influx of people chasing the buck do not post on these boards. They do not care about the chef community. Yet it is on these boards you come to complain, to blame us. And it is the people on these boards who wind up defending people like that.

You are right, it is a game...and with the attitude I am seeing in this board, for the first time it is no longer a fun game. The developers have made us dependent on BEs and Tailors and Rangers who are pretty much going to gouge us...and then put up with customers who are going to complain that our prices are too high.

It is just not worth it.

If people are whining about prices it doesn't mean they can't afford it. They just like to whine A couple of days ago a master doc spent half a million on Brandy and Blue Milk. Hesaid the prices are stiff but then admitted he can get it back in one day. Even if you spend 300k on BE brandy it's going to last at least a month and how much money can a combat class or a doc get in a month with the help of this drink?

Actually, if you have been reading what I have been saying, while some interdependency is good, I think the developers went too far and our base products need to be increased.

And I never, ever thought I would be seeing the attitude I have been from bio engineers and chefs.

Like mentioned before I don't think it is the cost that most people are truely complaining about. No one begrudges the Chef's right to make money. What gets people is that the Chef is reliant upon two other classes to make this money(and it is good money), yet they(and by they it is likely a select few, some of which post on this board... nikkii) seem to really begrudge the BE and the Tailor the ability to make a decent profit on their very high demand products that they need in order to make the Brandy.

I'm am not aBE, I am not a Chef and I am not a Tailor. I don't mind paying high prices for good items, but to sit and listen to the person charging me high prices complain nonstop about his suppliers charging him high prices for their goods just drives me nuts. You are not the only profession that deserves the right to make money, that was the purpose for adding the interdependancies to help spread the wealth around. You have a great product that is worth a good price for the high end producers but expect to have to pay well for your rare or hard to get components in order to do this. Not to mention you have a non-reusable product meaning your customer Has to come back to you when they run out. 300k for a crate of this brandy sure is better profit than the armorsmiths charging 600k for a full suit of composites. That brandy will be used up and they will be back easily within a month. Armor decays very slow now that they removed PvP decay and it will be several months before a buyer returns to purchase more armor. Granted I expect prices on the Brandy will die down some eventually and won't be as much of a Jackpot for the Chefs but it still will be expensive and it will still be in demand and you will still make a decent profit off of it probably about as fast as you can produce it.

Just by visiting this board I've gotten a very bad taste inmy mouth from several of the Chefs, and yes even a BE or two as well. There are some that I am glad to say are not on my server cause it doesn't matter how low they were selling them after reading there posts I would not buy from them. If everyone can learn to treat those that they depend on with some consideration and fairness this wouldn't be an issue. And yes that works on both sides there are some BE's that being just as bad as some of the Chefs.

If there are some Decent Chefs on my server that would be interested in crafting a couple of crates of various food items feel free to contact me ingame. Seems to be difficult to find anyone that can keep the good stuff in stock and for some reason can't seem to find any of my normal Chefs online to make an order(perhaps they are hiding from this mayhem). Anyways I'm looking for two crates of BE enhanced Brandy and two crates of BE enhanced Canap. Willing to pay the high prices for them as I understand the need for the Chef to make money . Hopefully his BE and Tailor will be making some money as well.

Nikkii you may be a good guy in real life but after your posts I've read on this board don't bother trying to contact me(don't think you are actually on my server anyway).

ok,so the brandys takes several runs. but in order to sell em you need the BE tissues right. off course you could sell some, but not likely as everyone is going crazy with the brandys these days. us BEs we need the creature food,hide/meat etc. and thats like THE most expensive stuff to get these days. so i think that a BE and a chef should share the final profit 50/50 or at least 40/60. If it wasn't for the meat we probably wouldn't sell the tissues for that much.

surely you wouldnt try to say that the tailors time is only worth 2cpu? Cause Im kinda getting the impression thats what you are saying.

Nikii, perhaps you didn't notice, but I *am* a tailor, lol, I have been since August. That was my primary profession for about 4 months. I know tailor prices, and I can quote them to you. This is pointless for you to argue because you do not know this domain, I do. Tailors have been selling their synthetic cloth components to armorsmith and architects since the game was released (this inter-dependence thingy is a new concept to chefs, but certainly not to most other crafting professions). Tailors charge between 2.5k and 3k per crate of synthetic cloth. That product has been commoditized to the point that there is almost no variation in price. At 2.5k/25 that comes out to be... *holds breath*... 5 credits per unit. Trim is a very very similar component. The only difference between it and synthetic cloth is that it requires 4 more units of fiberplast and 1 more unit of petro. So yea, tailors will sell you trim at 2.5k-3k per crate, unless you piss them off and try to charge them 500k for a crate of brandy. If you do that, all bets are off.

Also, if you want to compare chef dependence on trim to their dependence on bio components, there is almost no similarity in that comparision. Tailors need trim to make clothing. You contact any "legit" tailor and they'll have piles and piles of trim. It is a required component in about 1/3 or our schematics. It is dirt cheap to make. All the materials can be bought for 3cr/u on the bazar in huge stacks, or you can mine it yourslef for almost nothing. Quality makes no difference at all in this component, so there is a pretty good chance you could walk 5 steps out the door of your house, drop two harvesters, and get all the petro and fiberplast you need for months. Also, all you need is 0-0-1-0 in tailor to make trim. Anyone at that level can make it just as good as a master tailor. For a BE on the other hand, the only thing we can do with chef additives is sell them to a chef, they are very expensive to make. Quality is extremely important. You need to aquire very large stacks of high quality meat. Also, skill is highly important. Someone with say0-2-0-2 BE would probably make additives that have about half the quality of a master BE with the same materials. Alsothe value that they add is extremely easy to calculate and I would hope this would be appreciated. Please don't compare BE bio additives to trim, that is a rediculous comparison.

Oh, and Nikki, please don't try to claim you can buy quality meat in large stacks for 5-10cr/unit. Because, in general, you can't. I have extensive experience with this, both on the supply side (as my ranger alt) and on the demand side. If you visit the ranger forum they have a real nice discussion and formula for pricing meat, and believe me, you as a chef wouldn't like the nutrients we give you that was made from 10cr/u meat. And in general, the larger the stack, the more it's worth (even though that is somewhat counter intuitive).

Ya know this whole thread just annoyed the hell out of me... I don't find either class to be greedy, I don't find either class to be asking for any more or any less then they think their resources, time and everything else is worth.. what i find however is people biting off each others heads when they do not understand..

I am a Master BioEngineer myself and I have been known to GIVE AWAY .. yes thats right GIVE AWAY my schematics to bio enchancements on foods.. you give me the resources to make the schematic.. I'm gonna give you the schematic for FREE!! you need it already made.. I'm gonna only charge you 10x resources used to make as many as you need... think I'm crazy.. think I'm stupid? why?? I sell what I make for what it is worth.. Chefs sell what they make for what it is worth.. so to those bio engineers out there (And yes I am one so I have room to talk) get off your high horses (if your on one) and sell your stuff for what it is worth and leave the damn chefs and tailors alone!

Anyone needing bio engineered components at reasonable prices and NEVER asking for more then what i spend to make it.. contact Kay'li in corriban.. I am even willing to make trade offs.. you need my stuff I need yours. we find even ground and deal from there (I have this type of deal going with Ak'bear a master chef)

Its easy as that guys.. so just let it go and get back to doing what you do best.... and I don't mean complaining!

I'm not trying to piss you off. Just meant it as a jokeing comment of sorts. Guess it went over wrong, Sorry.

And I agree this BE vs Chef this is utterly retarded. They have a product to sell to us as a subcomponent. We have a product to sell. Its really as simple as that. It just so happens that thier sub component is now required to make food worth a damn so they are trying to strangle us by it.

That is still not counting in a lot of stuff. That is not counting in the fact that we need 275,000 units of material besides the materials that go into the nutrients. That is not taking the fact that we need 7 different harvesters running to get those materials, or pay people to find them. That does not take into account we need to do buy our trim from tailors. That does not take into account that this is a minimum of 4 factory runs to make 500 brandies.

Even if you deduct the chef expenses the price of the meat and then split it 50/50, it would still mean that the chefs were doing most of the work in resource gathering, making all the schematics and running the factories. Do you honestly think that seem fair?

Arthur thanks for summing it up for me that's pretty much been my point all along. Chef's(certain ones) are complaining that BE's are gouging and charging too much but they turn right around and do the same thing. Now I am fine with Chefs if they want to do this. However, dont' expect your suppliers to sit back and take the shaft on it, they are going to turn around and do the exact same thing to you.

that makes sense to me...the thing is...we see the numbers rising...and you and i both agree that a 2:1 trade is really a 1:1 trade and we both agree its really not a fair trade.

So to me...the 2:1 just seems like another way to get ripped off. Its basically the same as 50% profit...except that by the original posting (he clarified later) the BE then becomes competition in the chefs arena because he has as much product or more than the chef does.

Additionally..what about other foods that need tissues. With brandy seeming to set the standard, and all prices inflating over brandy..what about our 20k foods? They need supplements too. So to the 50% peoplewhen I make a 10k profit of a crate of cheap food, are you going to accept 5k in return? For the trade people...what about when I put enhancements in 20k foods thatyou dont use? Are you going to be happy with that in trade?

Also, another problem..as has been said. We are the current FoTM. We are flooded with people who joined us to get rich. These are the people BEs are basingprices on. Well next month when the FotM is DE, whats going to happen? The people that came to get rich overnight will be gone (hopefully). When that time comes, how is your *real* chef going to feel about the fairness of their business situation?
