It was about trying to open the eyes of the community and the chef's to the fact that this isn't going to last much longer. And they need to start learning how, and WANTING to work with the system.
Most of you will have to lower your prices because no one will buy anything, other's will quit and move onto the next "hot" crafting profession.
Go on professor, please teach us.

QUOTING
"I think it's great that you are charging so little for decent food. I'm a chef on Kettemoor. I have +25 to both my experimentation and assembly. I also have fs experimentation and piles of very good resources. I'm not worried at all about being undercut. As you stated earlier, there are a couple different types of chefs. I fall into the, "I want to attempt to make the best product possible" one. Sure my stuff may be "better", but I think that not only do we have different goals, we have entirely different buyers. There are always players out there looking to buy those uber foods. I know my food isn't worth over twice as much as what you make because it's marginally better. The thing is, those players out there with lots of credits think it is. But in the end, I hope you do sell lots and maybe open some eyes in the process. I suppose if I was concerned with making the maximum amount of credits possible I could feel threatened but that's never been my goal. My point of view is... if my food sits a bit on my vendor, it just gives me more time to play around with different product "
first person i agree 100% with a fellow kett chef. i try to make my stuff as best as possible i get a satisfaction out of seeing how good i can make it. we will deal with the economy when itfalls. no need to lower prices now when the economy has tons of money thats only hurting yourself. if the economy falls apart thats when you lower the prices. preparing for a loss of business is foolish. im actually thankful sometimes when my product doesnt move it allows me to work on other things such as pilot or jedi.providing foods/drinks to noobs is a great but old idea. when i first started i was lucky enough to get a buff when i hunted.
and as for saying everyone is out for money. its not true, although that is a perk of being chef. with the money i make i put back into my city, and buy overpriced resources just so i can keep going, then i take a cut and give my guildies foods and drinksks for 40k and under.
