So like pre-update, you didn't go to any chef vendor in the galaxy and find 1) crates of Fishak 2) crates of Sunburn 3) crates of Ryshcate and a few other odds and ends..... right? Isn't this what being a Chef meant? Grinding up to Master so you could mass-produce the 3 most popular schematics in your datapad?

And if it's not and you only stock a small cantina or your PA, then why is the profession suddenly devoid of the ability to produce quality material? Why can't we still pay mind to the quality of our food? I guess what I'm asking is why do you think you are so much better than everyone else?

First of all, this is what this thread is about. /return salute

You're #3 on the SWGCraft.com Master Chef list Branr, its sad to see the loss, and you were there through the thick of it. (fatgit beat you with #2, but ya know didn't ya drop once and remaster, fats? /wookieetease) Not that it matters, but it not only shows a presence here but on another community forum.

And now...since I have said what I've said about Branr, while I agree with you, I am still going to make due with what we've got just cause I've got some dough under my nails. Yea the changes are a bit of a hassle, but from what my customers are telling me...they are in heaven. I may be sweating, but it salts the pkneb =P

And all the old posters in here, and community junkies, I agree with you on all points when you put whoever that new guy is in his place...(what was his name again? ive already forgotten...)

EVERYONE GRAB AN APPENDAGE!!!! PULL HARD!

/wookieeroar on Jaar!

You show respect, youngling, or you'll find yourself swimming in an elder chef's blood chowder.

We'll miss ya Branr.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I have been posting on these boards since release, and I know who are the "long time" Chefs.....you know...the ones actually responsible for the recent revamp (in addition to SirVimes of course
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hi,
I've been playing SWG since October. My chef was my second character. She's been working on chef since ooo...about November or thereabouts. I lurk on the boards, with a few postings. I tend to not post 'cause I usually don't have much to say.
But, did you know I was a chef?
'Cause I am....not a Master, but then I didn't sit and grind my way through it like I've seen many a being do.
NOT flaming...don't put on the asbestos undies yet, just stating what a lot of beings have told me...and I'm not talking the holochefs. Got training in the first of my boxes recently (YAY!) and was told to go mixology so I can grind out something else faster. No thanks. I PLAY the game. Means I work on chef and several other parts of my character. She's a whole person, with a set of likes and dislikes and friends.
I haven't been playing since the game came out...so if that's what you meant by "long time" chefs...my bad, mea culpa.

Whatever reason Branr's reason for leaving the game, it is his reason and who are we to argue? I disagree with what he is saying, but that is me.

I hate posts that rant about how they hate this game and they are leaving. Good, bye, whatever. This doesn't come off as that. Bran was a respected part of this community, and his post was not a rant but a good bye to friends.

Ignorance is bliss...so say the new chef. My store kept over 20 types of food in stock. Sorry if you didnt have that experience. I loved being a chef and I explored the profession fully instead of worrying about stocking only what would make me money. Not my fault that 80% of the recent chefs only thought about how they could make money and therefore tried to only make the things that sold fastest with the biggest profit margin. Thats not a reflection on the chef profession thats a reflection on type of people playing the chef profession.

And if it's not and you only stock a small cantina or your PA, then why is the profession suddenly devoid of the ability to produce quality material? Why can't we still pay mind to the quality of our food? I guess what I'm asking is why do you think you are so much better than everyone else?

Because I havespent 6 months collecting the best ingredients on my server. Which gives me about 4 months experience up on every other chef on my server. Because I took the time to get 2 extra experimentation points. Because I did things like spend days learning the best way to experiment components.Because I DID make more than 3 kinds of food, I actually LEARNED my profession instead of grinding it with a macro overnight and then mass producing 3 things to get rich. My question is why is that all these novice chefs keep posting that masters dont know anything about the profession.. Im so freaking sick of seeing...You guys are so whiney and chef sucked, now it rocks! Look at all the awesome stuff we can make..Signed Loopy - Novice chef 1,0,2,1 Please. Give me a break. Your damn straight I think I know more about the profession than this person.

As far as the quality comment... I challenge you to make say..bivoli with your very best ingredients (non - BE, this is about CHEF not BE). Then make it with the most abominable resources you can find. Now look at the results and tell me that its worth the effort to spend hours every day tracking down the best resources in the galaxy to make "superior" food. Superior = 1 pt better. Who the heck cares if your food is 1 point better. Who will even notice if your food is 1 point better.Since 2/3 of our menu is now skill food, 2/3 of our menu is now almost identical to every other chefs irregardless of your ingredients or if you have 2 extra experimentation points. Have you not noticed everyone posting stats on their brandys that were made without BE additives, that the stats were almost identical? Doesnt that strike you as a little odd?

Someone that has never posted here before sounds new to me. So sue me. Im horribly evil since I think someone that had made 1 post on the board is new to this board. God Imsuch an elitist. I forgot than in the online world the word new is terribly bad. Sorry new really doesnt mean new..it surely means ...something else other than something that insulting. You really are gonna sit here and argue with me that me saying someone is new is a worse offense than someone coming into a goodbye post and saying dont let the door hit you in the ass on the way out it just means more business for me? You really think that?

*falls on the floor laughing* lord no wonder we dont agree about the revamp.

Actually I have no intention of sitting here doing *anything* with you.

What I was calling you out on was the "You new people think it's so easy ...."

Just go back and read the passage of yours I quoted. Don't analyze it too much. Just read it, read the generalizations you are making about the "new chef" community, lumping us in with someone who you don't like because of their comments towards a longtime member of the "old chef" community.

If you can do that then you'll know why I was picking on you to begin with.

For the record, Nikki, I didn't feel that saying "so long, more business for me" was the absolute most tactful way of contributing to the thread ever. Not for one minute. If I had been that poster I would have probably either chosen to overlook the entire thread or simply thought about it for another minute, especially given what I had observed about this board community and how they seem to stick up for one another.

I am not that poster tho.

... are you following yet? Your attitude and your comments that quickly digressedfrom "you're a rude SOB" to "you people are all the same" is what I have a problem with. Do you not want people like me who are new to the profession and actually like it to be able to ask your opinion, advice, draw on your experience? No? Ok, because that's what you've managed to achieve so far.

-Nah-
