You are right. I did. Its been something of a thing that has been happening fairly regular on this forum lately and due to the regularity of it, I have pretty much adapted that feeling. Pointing out peoples sales, the variety of buffs etc etc are fine...but the thing is they dont replace what many or some or however many feel was lost. Yet the people who have voiced this have been continually met by posts from people that have never even been on this board calling them idiots and asking them wth is wrong them etc etc etc. If you are new to chef (as many of the most adamant revamp supporters are)..then honestly, you probably dont know what we are talking about. But if one is new to a field, I would think they should consider the fact that the people that have been doing it for months and months might have an idea what they are talking about especially since many of them agree. I really dont see where a novice chef who has never been here before gets off coming into this forum and calling the old timers idiots and telling them they should quit because the revamp rocks. At the novice level they really dont know what cheffing was about prepatch. What they see is they have foods they can sell not being a master (as it should be). But unfortunately thats only a part of the whole picture not the entire picture. After listening to this over and over and over for the last month...yea Ive developed a bit of an attitude. That statement was directed to the people that come this board since revamp announcement and cussed at people and called them names and told them they dont know anything. Not all new chefs are like this, no. But unfortunately many of the new chefs have chosen to take that route. That guy coming here and posting that was just rude. No way around it, it was offensive.4 months ago this forum had a totally different atmosphere. Now its like cutthroat ugliness all the time. And well Ive a big mouth so I usually butt in when the new chef shows up being a punk (ie the guy that got jumped in this thread this time around) New chefs that pick up the chef profession out of interest in cheffing not to get rich or because chef got new toys and that treat the other members of the chef community respectfully, will always have my respect. Unfortunately from the posts throughout the last month, they seem to be the lesser percent of the newer batch of chefs. Before that it was holos... maybe in 3 months this will be a nice place to be again. Tho the number of old chefs that had been productive members of *this* community that have left is rather sad. Frankly, I dont think the community will ever be the same without them.

I guess my point Nikki was that despite your elitist attitude about "ignorance is bliss" look at it this way. The board community notwithstanding, the fact the class got revamped in the first place was because SOMEONE noticed that the game chef community still thrived (is that even a word) on 3-5 schematics. In plain English : chefs making their livliehood on crates of Fishak were in existence LONG before the class revamp. You're simply choosing to ignore that fact. So basically whether or not you admit it, you've always been a minority.

I only recently started even using factories at all, for instance, to make alcohol. Before this I was literally a live bartender in my PA's cantina. I only RP a chef, I don't make money off it at all. I can't imagine trying to keep up with demand and I probably won't try now. I intend on keeping my business local despite the fact my other character is a bio-engineer.

My point, you can still play a chef if you RP one, you can still carry your reputation as the best chef on your server if you really want to. What it sounds like to me is that you're upset that it's suddenly harder to maintain that reputation and now you're throwing a fit about it.

The guy that's quitting, he opened his post by admitting he hasn't logged into the game in a month.. hmm.. something strikes me as fishy there, tells me there were in fact other reasons for him not wanting to continue playing, let alone being a chef. If that's what he needs to do then so be it, but please don't make other people who just weren't lucky enough to sign up at the same time as you, bear the blame for it. And I'm not talking about holo chefs or chefs who decided to switch because of the money out there. Some of us started on the class because we like it, not because we saw the profit in it and despite what you think we deserve a little respect too. I guarantee you I will still be a Master Chef when the "flavor of the month" craze has passed and the next class gets a revamp.

Youre darned right Im pitching a fit about chefs being glorified spicemakers. However, this thread wasnt about that and Im certainly not the one that brought that into this thread. My initial post was a goodbye to someone who even tho you havent a foggy clue about was a long time contributing member to this community. My next post was in response to someone being rude to him for saying goodbye. If you guys like the chef changes (from your obviouslywell balanced and long enduring experience) then great, but somehow you think that means its ok to be disrespectful and rude to someone saying goodbye because they have a different opinion than you? On that basis alone, a person doesnt deserve respect. This thread wasnt about game mechanics or the right or wrong of the revamp... He didnt even complain about the revamp..just said it wasnt what he wanted. But yet you wonderful new folks felt it was perfectly acceptable to come in here and blast him on his way out. Im sorry but in my eyes, the person that did this doesnt deserve to be the dirt underneath Branrs feet. Some person who has never ever posted on this board before gets the urge to just come here and be a jerk to someone cause they posted goodbye and Im supposed to respect that? I dont give a crap if this persons been playing since 1969. His first post on the chef board was to blast someone for saying goodbye. Hes an obnoxious twit period. He couldve kept his butthead attitude to himself instead of just lashing out and being rude for no reason.

As far as game mechanics go...feel free to go to an APPROPRIATE thread and tell me to quit there. Thats not what this thread is about.

Yea really go ahead. Im aware that out of the first 3 posts I made in this thread there was a paragraph responding to SOMEONE ELSE who started talking about their sales as a way to say the revamp is good. Sorry but I didnt bring the quality issue into this thread.Perhaps with yourvast knowledge you can share with me, what exactly someones sales has to do with someone saying goodbye?
