As for the stupid people comment please proof read your post or at least have a friend who is smarter then you proof them.
Okay,"i" should be capitalized in each instance of paragraph 2. Same paragraph, "im" should be I'm. Paragraph 4, the correct spelling is gratefully. "Several of individuals" should be "several individuals" in paragraph 4. "flaming thanks" should be "flaming, thanks".
Branr...sorry to see you go ![]()
I'm in the same boat...I think I've achieved SOE's definition of casual play (an hour a day). ![]()
Take care fellow master
I'm sort of torn with the whole direction this post has taken.
On the one hand, I think it's very sad when a long-time chef such as Branr leaves the game/profession.
On the other, as distasteful as jmpmstr's comment was, the criticism about that post had nothing to do with what he actually said, rather with his lack of participation on the forums.
As for myself, I've posted here infrequently to say the least. But I've been with the game since release, and have been a chef since September, Master since December. One of the things that I enjoyed about the profession was its openness to newcomers and that it wasn't a veterans-only club (compared with other profession boards), with those who post the most taking credit for everything and where no dissenting views are appreciated.
I've seen the "new chef" posts, too, so I know where the comments are coming from (and in many ways, I sympathize with those who criticize them), butI think that the direction to go is not to ostracize them for being new, but rather to bring them into the fold. Clicking twice, I found that that was jmpmstr's first post to the chef boards, and sadly, it was not a very good one. As bad an ice-breaker as that was, however, let's not use that as an opportunity to indict all new people who might be attracted to the profession.
Flenst, you are probably right that we were a bit harsh, especially considering the normal jovial nature of this forum.
But I personally feel my comments were lashing out not only at jmp, but at the general "status quo". The Chef forums these days look like the Jedi forums...all the really good work done by SirVimes, Kriles, and everyone else taking the time to provide the community with hard facts....well its getting lost in the shuffle. What is taking its place is "0mfg FISHAK IS GONE!!!! SOE MUST HATE US!!!"
I have not seen any posts where long time Chefs are saying these things (which the exception of the occasional holo-bashing), so I would bet they are just lashing out as I am, and this was just the proverbial straw.

Dig at every possible thing wrong in a post.this will be the forums down fall
Refering back to my orginal threadI simply said, "Good bye...more room for other chefs. Oh, dont forget to turn off the oven when you leave".
Where didI dig at the original poster? If BranrStarkiller took offense..my apologies. None were ever directed at you, more to the general community saying "I'm leaving" over and over then finding their posts later taking about how they just did this last night in game. Was there sarcasm in the comment...you bet! Tends be a natural reaction of those who become scheptimistic. And thank you for pointing out my gramatical errors in your response! I tend to learn from my mistakes, and can take the critisism as well asI dish. I also now understand why you chose to take a hiatius from playing.Good luck with what ever you choose to do![]()
Nikii, You attack my post first with what reads to me is that he dislikes me. Don't know why he dislikes me, but fine it's his opinion!
Next Vishna calls me a rude little snot and thinks I am a ftom chef. How can you come to that conclusion? I dont post, therefore I am newb? Goodconclusion Vishna![]()
Gerorb79, can't figure out how you determine I'm stupid. Did you score one of my IQ tests? Funny I never remember taking one for you
.
Cyene, you make the attempt to imply that I'm a ftom chef also...how do you figure? Because I don't post to everything i read? Then you realize that your true intent of making a comment was directed at me and the "status qou". So now you make a comment like I did, that is intended more towards the majority of folks who participate in what I was being sarcastic about (ie posting about everything except for the topic). Kind of a double standard don't you think?
But the person to hit the nail on the head was Flenst, he caught on to how i was being criticized for not participating in posting to the forums, even though he disagreed with my comment. Thanks for seeing the point in which i was making a poor explanation of!!!!!!!! How can you flame someone for not holding the same opinion as you?
I think the overall feeling by those who read and/or post is the forums have become a griping areana/chat channel. If that is what i was looking for i would certainly be somewhere else. I truly enjoy this game (bugs and all) in all its vast concepts that are trying to be developed and played. I always look forward to thought out discussion for gameplay improvement and player interaction. The constant flaming and bashing of players that occurs in these forums will eventually lead to lack of relevant posting by other players who wish to help their fellow player. I think we are begining to see the down slope of this idea.
But those who are veteran players, you should be the first ones to notice this and should be holding yourself to a higher standard. Fighting flames with flames only creates a bigger, hotter fire.
I am done with this thread, and hope all a better game experience then a forum experience this was

I have been a master chef for 4 weeks, hardly posted at all but read a lot of what goes on. I have contributed a few things these last few days since the patch on stats etc etc, but then i've only had the game for 6 weeks. On the server I play on, a lot of people know me as a chef who isn't doing it just coz a holo told me i had to, as most chefs I see are master chef one day, and novice something-or-other the next.
Just because I haven't been around long, or posted masses of posts doesn't mean that I can be classed as "not a part of the chef community". We are all a part of the SWG community, therefore whatever profession our character is, then we fragment into that part of it. If people decide to flame then that's their choice, I don't condone it, but then I tend to just skip through any non informative replies and not comment. Maybe this is why I don't have so many posts. Although I felt to reply to this one.
sorry to hear that your leaving....![]()
I've been a chef ever since the 2nd month of the game, but haven't been master till about december... ![]()
I know, no one knows me since i hardly ever posted, but... once again sorry to hear that your leaving, and i think i might be also in a coupleof days too ![]()
Ack-Dum
This is the saddest post I've ever read.
Not because someone is frustrated with the direction their chosen career has taken, but because of their inability to adapt to change.
SWG is just a game, but it is a reflection of how you choose to respond "realistic" situations.
This is not a flame and no sarcasm is intended in this post, but you seem very conflicted with comments like;
"chef had been the only thing that had really kept my interest in the game"
and
"I guess I kept waiting for the "Star" part of Star Wars to appear"
I think you may be expecting too much to get the "Star" experience from Chef.
