I see. So you would be happy with selling 3 types of clothing in shop? Currently I stock about 15-20 foods regulary.Yea great Im excited to have 3 foods people may want. And Im wondering as a tailor, what is your food experience with the current menu?

I think that number is low. Many of these will sell to the PvP crowd. Defense stackers, accuracy stackers, combat medics, fencer/pistoleers, etc all have specialized PvP needs, for example.

There may be fewer useful PvE foods (particularly for high mind users). And I understand that this is the biggest market. But the PvP market shouldn't be under-estimated. They are also the market that is willing to pay the highest margin to get whatever edge they can.

Im not even going to keep trying to convince the fanboys that are still saying this is not a nerf. If you cant see how this is a nerf your math skills are obviously lacking.

Sure you chefs get some nice gimic foods but i will personaly go from purcasing hundreds of thousands oc cr worth of food a week to nothing in a hurry. The fact that most others will end up with a crate of each of the new foods that seem good, all 3 of them, and that will last them for a month due to the reduced effectivness so we use them less and the longer digestion times.

If the devs want us all to go to pistoller so we dont have to worrt so much about the HAM costs they should just remove the other classes insted of nerfing the foods that alow us to opperate

It's obvious admins aren't absent from this board as Nikii's "intelligent" post was deleted while I was writing a response to it. Then I won't bring this matter up although someone should calm down and remember that personal insults aren't leading anywhere much less to intelligent dicussion.

To the matter of "3 foods" - I didn't mean we're getting "only 3" foods, I was talking about at least 3 new possible things for just onegroup of players, Jedi.

No, what Id like to see is the revamp at least be tested with the system its supposed to work for.

Im a chef because back in June or July when chef was broken I thought it sounded like fun. (of course I didnt know how broken until I got my feet wait).

How are we supposedevaluate a new buff system when its not with what it is designed for. Im guess that my enchanter from everquest probably wouldnt be very good at SWG.

I think if the chef system is designed for the new combat system it should sit on test until its been tested with the system its designedfor. It seems kinda putting the cart in front of the horse to design something based on something that hasnt yet been created dont you think?

Frankly I dont need credits. I could care less. Im sorry that you can seem to think past the credit. But credits have ZERO to do with why a profession shouldnt be broken for 2 months intentionally.

Ill say one thing. There sure are an awful lot novice chefs around that talk a lot of smack about stuff that makes no sense at all. Gotta love holos. Spread the foolishness around everywhere.

The removal of literally every food and drink we had (because even the ones we have retained are not the same buffs and should not be considered the same food or drink) means that we would have a sum total of 0+3 items to sell, which makes 3.I regularly sell at least 7 items alone as it is (GGP, BoH, Fishak, Sunburns, Fire Stew, Vegeparsine, and Ormachek), so this would be a big decrease for me, personally.

This is not apples to apples. I never said we have nothing that will sell. IAM saying that weaponsmiths sell over15 types of items regularly, armorsmiths as well, and droid engineers need love just like we are getting, but better. Architects sell nearly every item they can make (with the exception of some ugly furniture and player city buildings).

We are being totally built up from the bottom, as the patch notes and Thunderheart said. Why couldn't we get more than a handful or two of the foods that WILL make sales, especially in the master box. Smugglers nonwithstanding (they are getting their own revamp), Doctors, Musicians, and Dancers seem to bein heavy demand for100% of their buffs. I do not expect this, but it is a ratio I would like to see us coming a lot closer to.

Excuse me haven't read the whole discussion either? I can see at least three times as many useful recipes then chefs have now. Also don't forget the stat buffs are still here even if they don't seem as impressive as the current ones.

The point that we disagree on is that there are alot of useful foods. Ive seen less than 10 people agree to that. My customers are coming here and coming back to me and going ummm thats stupid after they have seen the new menu. Maybe 1 in 10 likes it. From my view Im going from selling 21 items on my menu to most likely about 5-7 if I had to take a guess. Your menu currently exists of...hrmm well nothing much at the novice level, sunburns if youve gotten that high. And now you see things on the menu you think you might be able to sell. So yea seeing stuff in the tree at that level does look good. And it *should* that is one thing good about the revamp. I dont like the buffs. But it looks like they did a much better job spreading stuff throughout the trees. However coming from someone with a full menu now, I can say that until we know what the new system is like, my menu is going to be greatly reduced. By more than half easily.

Im very aware of what is going on in my profession as Ive been reading this board daily for many months. I dont need you to educate me about what food is in the revamp. I was sitting here waiting on results from ezran and the other folks on test when the patch happened.

There is no reason to break a profession on purpose.

No we just disagree on the word useful.

You may find 1000 credits useful. Personally I wouldnt.

Try to remember that useful is up to the person doing the using. Just because YOU think something is useful doesnt make it a fact. And it certainly doesnt mean we didnt read the thread. It means that despite the fact you think its useful, others dont.

Okay, I'll take the bait, but taking my post out of context there is a big misconstruing of the point I was trying to make. I guess it wasn't clear, so I will try again.

If you look, I have been participating in the acquisition and discussion of the revamp info since it went on test on Thursday. This is not a credibility battle. Somebody commented on a post where I mentioned 3 foods that Jedi might use insteadmore realistically than ormachek, so I used their number of 3 foods, not mine. I mentioned 3 offhand, and it was taken out of context. I know several foods will be of SOME use. I am looking for foods that make me think the revamp is a SUM TOTAL positive change.

And as I have said numerous times, people's interpretation of "useful" foods or drinks is very difficult to judge. I have about the same number of customers looking forward to the revamp as against it.

Most of the ones looking forward to it have one certain food in mind that appeals to them (Flameout, Blue Milk, and Pyollian stand out in my mind), and the rest say things like, "It looks good that you guys are getting so many new recipes." When I explain to them that the old ones that they used to buy are no longer going to be available, they are usually upset. I do my best to offer them alternatives based on their profession and interests, or from the http://home.comcast.net/~sciguyCO/swg/FoodChart.htmsite, but some of them still tell me they will only be buying food for the new art, if at all.

I am not making arbitrary decisions about what is good and bad. I am asking my customers, because they are the ones who will have to buy the food. I'm not talking about "This doesn't look like it will sell" because I have been wrong about that in the past. I am talking about what people who buy my food right now say they will and will not try.

Demand will vary server to server, profession to profession, and with changes in game systems. What I have yet to see still though is again, a sum total positive change for the profession. Very few people go into my cantina and leave without seeing something that would have a real, practical use for them. I pride myself on that. With the diversification of the buffs, we are losing a lot of the types of things that customers of mine are interested in, at least based on the results from the test center data.

This may change when I'm using my DR-996 PE-935 OQ-992 corn instead of the resources they're using on test. In fact, I REALLY hope it does. But for the moment, I remain skeptical of the overall change of this revamp.

I guess only time can tell, unfortunately, as it's not clear cut enough for many of our tastes.

That's what what I'm trying to say! It's not like I'm making it up, I'm trying to figure it out by reading responses on this forum, talking to the players I know, etc. From what I've read and heard a lot of new recipes look promising.

Would make more sense if they added new stat buff recipes together with the combat update but I think they're doing it because only a part of the new food system is related to stat buffs but everything else is supposed to work already.

"Frankly I dont need credits."

Congratulations!

"I could care less. Im sorry that you can seem to think past the credit. "

I can't or I can? Before you make any other assumptions about what I think or don't think I must admit that credits do matter for me. I don't need gazillions, but I want my trade to cover my expenses and pay for other thing I want to do. But my main concern as a crafter and as a merchant is meeting the needs of my customers. Since the new update is coming soon I want to figure out what's going to be in demand and from what I see there's more than just a handful things worth crafting.

"Ill say one thing. There sure are an awful lot novice chefs around that talk a lot of smack about stuff that makes no sense at all. "

As I said my thoughts are based on the responses here. So if people say they need so and so based on their needs it makes no sense either?

"Gotta love holos. Spread the foolishness around everywhere."

Umm, you can't keep from insults, can you? Be careful, anger leads to the Dark Side.

Guess youve not been around here long enough to know my knickname is psycho chef. Since well today is the first time we've seen you around here, thats not surprising.

You are the one that made the money accusations dear saying that the *cough* chefs wanted to delay the patch until after the combat patch so they could score major credits since it would take a few months after that for chef to be balanced. You are the one throwing accusations.

You are also the one insisting that your opinion is the truth. Great Im glad you have an opinion. Once again I have to say many of us dont agree with you. Ive seen FAR more people say the patch is a nerf than not. If youll look even people who started out claiming it wasnt a nerf, agree now that it is a nerf. Theres basically about 8-10people saying its great...over and over and over. And of those, most of them are not master chefs and have been in the chef profession less than 2 months. Your opinion is not a fact. Just as my opinion is not a fact.

And for the record you came here and started insulting people. You came here and started saying that people that didnt agree with you were obviously posting without reading information and giving us your advice that we read threads before we post. As if we don't know what is going on. Then you start throwing the accusation that chefs want uber buffs for a couple months after the combat fix so we can make billions. It was a very grand introduction to the chef forum community to come in and proclaim that in all your noviceness you know everything and all the people here that disagree must not know how to read.

So yea you are right, I cant post a response to you without slamming to you. Because every single post you have made in this forum has been slamming people.

well i don't play in test, have no clue about the combat changes... but i see a nerf to the 7 or so foods/drinks i alternate between... all of the are for the mind, yea we still get BoH, thats a saveing grace

petbuffs- bah the stats i want buffed on my pets are the regen rates of the pools, not an extra 1k added to the HAM, i can do that already with embolden pets

-stat defences sound nice but what good will a +15 do for me with nothing to stack it with???

-the digestion time, what a joke... if i drinkone thing i woun't be able to take another for a set amount of time... ok, dumb thought but in RL if you are more active you burn more energy... why does everyone thatworksout have something to drink on their person???? why does the military preech staying hydrated at all time???

for all of you that haven't seen a real nerf (i have CH) and call this a 'fix'... its a nerf... look at what this will do to those of you that have the 90% triple layers composite armor, think its a pain to put on now???? try it after the patch, then tell me its a 'fix'...

this nerf really hurts the chef profession, all it does is make doctors (getting hard to find ones that buff), entertainers (i can find maybe 1 musician a week), and smugglers (10 mins up/3 down, then pop another) all the more in demand.

my opinion is that chefs are finally a viable profession as is... but the devs see them as adding to the combat pro's being overpowered... same as they saw CH being overpowered when added to a combat pro... when this chef nerf doesn't really change the better combat pros from being good, doc buffs will get 'fixed'to something like the entertainer buffs are now... this part is just looking in the crystal ball...

my 2 cents is FIX WHATS BROKE, NOT WHAT WORKS
