From what I understand, any skills within a combat profession will be eligible for the respec. Since Doctor and Medic skills are now considered combat profession (except perhaps crafting skill boxes), all your skillpoints should be eligible to respec. Nothing is final at this point, though, so stay tuned. The first few days of May should have more concrete info.

Can't you type /bactashot <insert helpedguy name here>for healing him during combat without changing target?

I have played for quite some time. I played on the TC5 for a while on Sunday. Iam no "uber" player and the only profession I have matered in my 2+ years of playing has been rifleman. I origionaly had a Master Rifleman and a Squad Leader combo, but gave SL up for Creature Handler due to SL not really doing anything to help except clear states. My Current char has Master Rifleman, scout 4-0-4-4, CH 4-4-2-1, marksman 4-0-0-4, and medic 2-2-4. I throughly enjoy this set up.This allows me to play solo or grouped and be of beneift to all.

I am concerned that I will have no AOE specials. Rifleman's best shot was a AOE? So if I understand right I will have to master some carbine tree? I am maxed on skill points as it is now, how can I hope to retain my flexible play style? I see changes in medic that will cost me 4 more SP's to resemble what I have now and then I look more and see I need more SP's for AOE shots. /sigh

I guess I am just concerned that I will no longer be able to play as I do now which I have grown to love over all this time. I am trying the TC5 and have high hopes, but as hard as I look I am just seeing that I will have to start all over again relearning everything and find a new place to try to fill the void of the old game.

Hope is all I have.

We are definitely changing our face to the world - It is both bad and good.

bad:

yes we do lose AOE's

We do lose heavy AP bonus

we lose our front line troop status

everyone moves slower with weapons equiped (ranged more the melee)

RESERVED FOR UPCOMING ISSUE

good:

LOS works

we gain nuker status vs 1 target

we gain limited stealth

we keep the longest range in the game

Definitely differences in weapons now

specials stack (in your case this does not help)

so yes it is a new game and you will need to learn new things

I guess it makes sense why you can only get xp while in combat and grouped because it will get rid of all the tumblers ect. But the only thing that concerns me isI don't have alot of time to play each day and mostly just solo. I never group, I do everything myself. I don't play during peak hours and alot of times its not always easy to find a doctor buffing let alone find some group to tag along with somewhere. And now I can't even heal wounds which was pretty good xp at the starports. Oh well maybe I should just try to get enough now heh.

I tested the group thing, now medics/doctors/CM are required for groups (Doc and CMs aren't in the game so medics are required). Finding an xp group is really easy in TC, it take only a couple of mins to get in one.

I was in a couple of groups yesterday as healer working up my skill boxes, my ISP got problems and i went LD in both groups, when i finally managed to log in back the entire group was whiped due to the lack of an healer.

/bactashot dosn't accept a player name as parameter, so you have to target the player you want to heal.

In a group of around 8 player lvl 7+ today i was able to get 2 lvl 4 boxes (70k xp each) in a couple of hours.

The command lines don't work the moment, with all the people abusing the system on the second day testing (don't ya love people, they just can't help themselves from cheating..), the option was removed until it can be addressed till later, so yeah, using someone's name as a target isn't going to work. I also believe the same disabling is the cause of traps, grenades and bacta toss ablities to be temp disabled but can't confirm that one

Not being able to heal action already got rid of the tumblers.
