Now here is what is confusing me, you make 1 glass empty then you crate a keg per say and the keg itsself has 30 charges soo you click and drag the cup on top of the keg causing it to fill and the keg to go down in charges. Now if you make a crate of these kegs theorticly you now multiply a keg which is 30 charges by 25 which makes it a total of 750 uses.
Now dont quote the #'s I just put them in there for the example. Is that the way its going to work? I hope everything goes ok.
If thats not the way it works can someone explain it to a person with 102 fever forced to work

the keg and glass are components for our schematics, and the type of container helps determing the total number of uses.

So we just added an additional component to recipes that already require components.
Also this will definetly require you to have more factories as you will now have to produce double the amount of components.
In short it will take even more time to complete a run of drinks.
I like this idea however It think it may need to be refined.

Don't know if you misread but I think you are assuming some things that we don't know.
lets look at specifics.
Under the current system
10 metal +15 cereal + 15 reactive gas = Starshine Suprise.
2x Starshine + 20 reactive gas = Tattooine Sunburns.
Ok, now there are two ways this can work under thenew system.
1 container +15 cereal + 15 reactive gasses = Starshine suprise
2x Starshine Suprise + 20 reactive gas = Tatooine Sunburns
or
1 container + 15 ceral + 15 reactive gasses = Starshine surprise
1 container + 2x Starshine Surprise + 20 reactive gasses = Tattooine Sunburn.
I don't know which one of those will be the case. If it is the first one, then I don't think there should be a problem. If it is a second one....well, this could be a real pain. But I don't know which one it is. I think it is a valid question for greenmarine, one which I already asked...but I don't think we should get too upset before we find out which it is.
Having to do a run of kegs, then a run of alcohol, then the final combine would be a bit OTT - I'm hoping that this change actually replaces alcohol's, which would make sense.
I'm looking forward to seeing SirVimes screaming on the forums once these changes hit the TC

Don't forget they're also reducing factory times. So there may be another component run required, but it'll complete faster.

Ohh man I hope they really make sure this works because it would be horror if something were to go wrong.

SOE don't have a very good track history in this area.
What will probably happen is that factory times will be reduced, but the extra stage in the crafting process will make it take longer in the end.
Until I see that the process is faster with my own eyes, I'll ecpect the worst
Perhaps the the schematic could have a place for a small glass, and then you could add metal to "optional" areas to make the glass bigger or to make a Keg. Like you automatically need say 2 mineral to make a small glass, but then if you wanted to make a keg, you could just drag more metal into an optional box for keg. Takes place of one extra step. ![]()
It would be like the BE components that we use in our food. Optional. ![]()
Being able to set drink size at a component level is basically what Medics have been doing since the beginning. This is actually something I approve of. It's very easy to determine and control your stack size. And this, I like.
Okay.. the brain is churning here. So we get another crafting stage and step. And we have to deal with forethought with regards to factories.
But let's just say that to simplify everything, ALL food and drinks get containers. Make the containers a real component and allow resource quality to affect charge amounts in a small way. So that perhaps a small container has maybe 1-4 charges. And the largest container maybe 15-25 charges base. If resource qunatities can be managed such that a 24 charge container is 6x as much as a 4 charge, then balance can be maintained in the chef economy.
The only real problem that I foresee is the need for masters to always make kegs, or be undermined by someone willing to make something a little lower quality but put it in the largest container.. At least, based on the assumption that a container is JUST a component, and has no control over resources used but for the container itself.
My only concern is that something lame will happen with the larger containers, like them requiring smaller containers as components for the larger ones ![]()

Ok I love the idea of the containers, especially Keg at Master Chef but I have one question about them.
Do I have to use a equipment factory to make them?
It doesn't quite seem right to make glasses and kegs in a food factory, but theoretically that is what we were doing before with the mineral component.
