Thread: Major change to drinks
Hummm dont know about this, we'll have to see I guess. Seems like adding a step to make it easier on them and harder on us. But who knows it could be cool. If they DO make this an extra step there better be a benifit for having us do this.
I mean i already make fishak with 15 charges without any extra effort. Now ill have to do a run of resource expensive (probably) Kegs to get them to 15? (yes i know it was an example sirvimes, just running with it)

Or maybe you'll be able to make fishak with 45 charges. ![]()
I hope the container schematics are going to stick to somewhat general categories: Steel, Wood, Polymer (plastic containers), etc. If we're going to have to compete with weapon/armor/medical crafters for Dolovite Iron, Platinite Copper and Neutronium Steel things might get a little tough.

Ok, so you already make fishak with 15 charges. If you use small glass, you will still have a fishak of 15 charges. If do the extra run of resource expensive kegs (assuming they are x3), you will get a fishak of 45 uses. How much do you charge for the 15? ![]()
For me, it all depends on how easy the small glass is to craft. If it is cheap and very quick, I don't see itbeing that much work for us. It will be the same results for a little bit more work, and then if we want to do a lot more work we can get really great results.
1) What factory/crafting tool would be used to make containers? Since it is mineral-based, it sounds like a wpn/droid/general crafting tool and equipment factory would be used to make containers rather than Food & Chem.
2) Understanding the multiplier thing, but need a little more clarification. A multiplier is just a pure number on the final quantity? It doesn't mean we need to add 3x the number of resources if our container multiplier is 3?

Another question I asked Greenmarine and have not gotten an answer on.

That's right.
ARGH!! Figures this would happen a week after I emptied my bank account to buy 1.2 million units of OQ 1000 metal.
Will the quality of the containers matter?
My (now semi-retired) Kettemoor character is a Doctor/CM, so I'm familar with the issue of components. And it can be a pain .. but it's not terrible .... as long as we can craft them ourselves and don't have to rely on another profession or another type of factory then I don't *think* it would be too much trouble ....
maybe ... we'll see in a few days.
Ok at work have the flu. Soo please forgive lack of understanding. Now here is what is confusing me, you make 1 glass empty then you crate a keg per say and the keg itsself has 30 charges soo you click and drag the cup on top of the keg causing it to fill and the keg to go down in charges. Now if you make a crate of these kegs theorticly you now multiply a keg which is 30 charges by 25 which makes it a total of 750 uses.
Now dont quote the #'s I just put them in there for the example. Is that the way its going to work? I hope everything goes ok.
If thats not the way it works can someone explain it to a person with 102 fever forced to work
.
This reply is brought to you buy Georb dying in MA at 16 degrees outside windchill temp and Sponsered by Tropiciana Orange Juice. Wish I had a Breath of Heaven now.

I see the question was answered already, and in addition adding the burden of having us get equipment factories will be really tedious, I have 8 food factories now, so that means I will need just about the same number of equipment factories to keep up production. And as someone else said above relying on other classes for somethings is ok, but relying heavily on any other class then your own puts people in alot of tough spots.

I don't know the answer to this yet but I am sure that we can make them in a food factory. If they aren't I have found soemthing else to scream about.
Previous drinks usually just required an alcohol and then the main ingredients. Now, unless they do away with the alcohol component, you will need:
Alcohol
Main Ingredients
A container component.
So we just added an additional component to recipes that already require components.
Also this will definetly require you to have more factories as you will now have to produce double the amount of components.
In short it will take even more time to complete a run of drinks.
I like this idea however It think it may need to be refined.
Perhaps I misread something, I will check again, however this is how it sounds to me as it stands.

Huh? What? No!
I don't know the answer either way, so don't assume it is equipment factories. Having them constructed with anything else besides food factories would just be...dumb! So for now I am assuming that we can make this stuff with food factories....but as soon as I know for sure I will tell you.
But I agree completely, if it is equipment factories, that will cause major problems.
