Thanks for keeping the post positive, hopefully without whining and crying on swg boards, the devs will take a look here and help us out.

Salvation is near, We've been seen!

I have been hanging out in the cantina all day, finally doing ok, nothing substancial but some regular business. I also have been charging about 30 credits per 3 units of beer, I cant justify selling beer for more than 10 credits a pop, I mean...its beer.

How can you guys afford to sell your goods for 30 or 50 creds a pop? Is these quality goods? My Starshine raises Strength and Stamina by 130 for seven minutes with 4 servings per stack--I NEED to sell it for 175. My Noodles go for over 200 due to the expensive Hide costs.

Sure, I could do delivery missions and help create inflation faster, but I'd rather help the economy more than my character.

An issue with bio-engineered components - they have no effect seemingly.

A BE friend made numerous components (about 100) for me to use as he gets 150UXP each from them when I use them. Each one was supposed to increase duration.
Added them to Soypro & made meatlumps & blood chowder, and not one was any better than test batches made with no BE components - in fact most were worse.

I very much agree with what Nova and Hajj had to say. I believe it is more detrimental to scream at the Devs for attention; this is a sure way to be ignored. It may be your perception that they are not aware of chef issues; it is my perception (having been in beta) that they are very aware of the issues and are working on it. I think they are more concerned presently with stability issues.

The original post was nicely written and points out most of the main problems with Chef. I anxiously await for the timewhen Chef comes into its own; meanwhile, I do what I can to educate people on my server about the value of food and drink.

In beta, however, the developers were also a lot better at responding to the issues.

Still, I know Holocron has seen this post. And with a chef corespondent (sp? I'm dyslexic, sorry) the lines of communication will get a lot better.

I would like to see a more obvious display of buffs. I mean, in other games (you know which ones, hehe) You knew when u were buffed and when you were not, u only had to glance over and u knew. Why not here have an option to drag the little things out like u can with others, so its there and obvious. Better yet, make it perhaps colored (red, green and blue, corresponding to the appropriate HAM bars and their secondary stats) so u can more accuratly know what you've got buffed up. Oh, and make them long term buffs, and have the spice and stim packs the short term stuff, like it should be.

I think most chefs are selling at a loss. Lets say you weren't a chef, and just collected resources, and sold them on market. Market price for bone is 4 credits in corrillea and will be bought instantly by armoursmiths. If you put harvesters up, or sample you can get 4 credits per metal. Water 4-5.

Meaing the resources base price is around 4 credits per resource you would sell it for.

Now if your a chef, instead of selling those resources, you want to make more of a profit, if you are converting your potentially 4 credit resources, into 2-3 credit resources by selling your food, you are loosing money.

Instead of harvesting meat, harvest bone. Instead of sampling wheat, sample metal, you will be richer, not a chef thou. ooo well.

PS: Someone please apply for that chef correspondent job (i'm to lazy), but someone needs to help this proffesion.

An excellent idea. If players had symbols showing what stats were being buffed they would be reminded of the buff and could see it when it runs out. This would have a much greater effect on players seeking buffs if they were made more aware of the buffs. I would even settle for a way to make the food drink status float to the main screen, but a symbol for stam, str, mind etc would be superior.

A shout out to all the Chefs....

Heya guys...I didn't know that the Chef prof was so tough and that the devs certainly need to work on this art for the value of the game.

As an Armorsmith I always recommend to my clients that they seek out a chef and start sourcing goods made by them to counteract the (insanely high) encumbrance that armor places upon the wearer.

If you haven't thought about this, you may want to find your local armorsmith a strike a deal with him. I personally have a vendor in my house (just set it up yesterday...woot) and was thinking about buying chef made food to place in it so ppls can buy that when picking out some armor.

A station behind the bar would be great, along with drinking emotes, maybe drinking games.
