i'm just totally an-al about the way i make stuff... i set the # of crafts on the subs' schematics to 999 usually to account for the fact that i gotta use 1 tissue to make the additive schem, i set the # of crafts on the actual food schematics to however many of the subs are left and i split resources so that nothing will be leftover after the factory finishes. the fact that2 runs ofcasks works out to be 998 is almost enough to make me foam at the mouth and twitch uncontrollably. i don't care if i can just take 1 cask out of a different crate and use it with the run,it's bad for my OCD

Crystalline gemstone IS a pain, but you should be able to find someone on your server who has a static mineral extraction farm and has stacks of gemstone lying around unused. I'd try the trade forum for your server and ask for stacks of grinding grade gemstone. You don't care about the quality, offer 1 or 2 CPU for it and you'll probably get lots of offers. Tazz controls a 18 MMI farm he inherited from a guildie and depending upon what has spawned under it mines whatever is most efficient to mine regardless of quality, and as a result has a large supply of blech gemstone that is ideal for cask runs.

new to chef, guild asked me to pick it up on my alt.
so are casks the best container to make for drinks?
whats the difference?
are barrels ever good? they look like a super pain in the ass.
and what craft makes trim?

Yes, casks are the best container because they give the largest stack size. Barrels are totally broken, and have been since they were introduced into the game. Don't bother with any other containers aside from casks.
Tailors make trim. You can buy the resources and ask one nicely if they'll make schematics for you, and then you can throw them into wearables factories and make the trim yourself. Then you take the trim and combine it with crystalline gem in a food and chem factory and out pop casks.

Trim isn't the problem. Its the Crystalline Gemsrone. I have tons of odds and ends that just take up room and I don't know anyone with any static lots that has any. I check the vendor search and 100k is foing at 4cpu+ and there isn't that much out there. Tons of the other Gemstone.

I preffer useing large glasses when i can and the more expensive drinks useing casks.

Agreed. I just bought 900k of the stuff and its already being used before the runs are even finished!! Thankfully I got it at 1.5cpu but there isn't much cheap crystalline gemstone out there. I could get it for about 3cpu which suddenly makes drinks a bit more expensive to make!!!

I had a million units a couple weeks ago. They went super fast though.
It's amazing how many things seem to need casks these days.Methinks I need some static mineral harvs.
