Casks are not "serial" specific meaning any cask can be used in any recipe regardless of which one you used during the crafting process for the schematic.

EXAMPLE : Vasarian Brandy schematic using Cask A can be made with Cask B in the factory. It does not have to be the same cask.

Also because of the above tip, donot throw away your gemstone...just make smaller runs and put them together. I use 6 factories just for the cask process ( 3 Wearables for trim, and 3 Food for the casks). Once a day I start up a fresh batch of trim and a fresh batch of casks with yesterday's trim. I keep a backpack titled "CASKS" in my crafting house and any leftover casks from crafting are placed in there. I use these to make my schematics or whenever it gets full, I use all of them in a factory run of product.

******IMPORTANT*******

Gemstone that has been recycled cannot be used to make casks. It is labeled something other than crystalline gemstone and will not fill the crafting slot. Don't waste your money on the recycler. The only recyclers I use as a chef are the creature recycler(it is used all the time) and the flora which I use to clean up my small stacks of component grade resources.

Cheers! Was hoping for a miracle solution but I guess that was too much to hope for!!

Easy way around it is to contract a tailor to make them for you and deliver them to a vendor on a regular basis but since you are a tailor seems pointless.

I am fortunate that my g/f is a tailor as I don't have the SPs myself...so I get her to make a load of runs of trim, and I make a large run of casks all at once. Then thats me sorted on casks for a while. It becomes managable if you work it like this.

It is great that they aren't serial dependant...that saves a lot of headache

Worst thing about casks is the darned crystaline gemstone. I swear I'm constantly having to buy it and yet never seem to have any (I have lots of grind fiber/inert leftover from way back when).

I keep telling myself to harvest it in-between good flora spawns but the I hate the idea of finding a spot & plunking them down just to have some yummy flora spawn the next day and have to go pick them up and what not.

So basically I hate casks cause I'm lazy.

Cask are my biggest headache atm.. So many drinks I need to make, not enough cask for it all /shake fist

150unit of Crystalline Gemstone (really!!! ugh)

Just recently harvested 500k of it and now its all gone, its as bad as ore for an architect. Us chef are going to sing the Crystalline song soon.. like they do for ores in the Architect forum.

I love casks, I wish all our components didnt have serial numbers like casks...

I'd prefer it if they fixed barrels instead. They've only been broken, oh, forever now...

I love that we can use casks without worrying about serial numbers, but I can't stand making casks either. There's an awful lot of harvesting/moving/shifting/dragging/begging (tailors for the trim schematics, since I lost my tailor ) for only getting 20 crates of casks per full run of 40 crates of trim. If we could all get along using large glasses, it'd thrill me. It's too bad the day that happens will be the day h-e-double hockey sticks freezes over.
