"The best spices smugglers have to offer for action is booster blue. That gives you 400 action and 400 quickness."

I was looking at spices last night on the bazaar and I found some that were a lot more powerful than that. I found one that gave 1000 points to two atributes, and over 500 to ALL the others. And that can be stackable on top of other foods.

I know what I saw. I will look it up tonight and get the exact numbers.

And have you looked at what chefs can make? Nothing we can make can compare to what smugglers are making except for the sunburns.

How come I got a feeling you are a smuggler character who just wants to see chefs nerfed into non-existence?

Heh I'm a chef and I've never used a Tat Sunburn, so I'm sort of at a loss about what the ruckus is about. Can someone explain to me what has this guy so upset?

Strength and Stamina are not Primary HAM bars, they have no impact on how tough a creature/person you can take on.

They do have a big impact on downtime, due to their effect (stamina) on health regeneration (it is health isn't it?)

So is the issue (remember I've never used one) that the Tat Sunburns allow you to regenerate so fast during combat that you can't be killed unless you are 1-shotted?

I should hit Mix II tonight so I'll be able to find out the answer on my own, but someone humor me while I"m at work and let me know what the actual problem is.

Thanks

Also I'd like to add that I'm NOT AT ALL adverse to balancing too strong (I think Tat Sunburn is the only one that people can even question) schemas if at the same time all the other schemas are also revised to be more useful.

I want a balanced class, not one that has ONE insane product and 100 useless ones.

However in defense of Tat Sunburn I'd also like to point out that people in my group NEVER incap or die due to Health or Action with or without Tat Sunburn. If someone takes a dirt nap in my group (I"m a Master Doctor as well) its because they are borked in the mind. Tat Sunburn does nothing here (in fact if I remember right it has a negative modifier to one of the mental stats)

LOL...

Someone came to the Chef board and suggested a nerf...man people really must have WAY too much time on their hands.

Ok lets look at this from a different angle. Sunburns buff a regen stat and an efficiency stat.

+1560 to STR = less cost on my health based combat styles (but not so much less that they cost nothing)

+1560 to STA = less effect on my action usage for action based styles

So lets see...the only people who get any benefit are those who use styles which affect Action and Health. So basically Carbineers and Pistoleers. And, it makes them so overpowered because they can chain styles? Which people pretty much do anyway?

Not to mention, what would be the point of drinking multiple sunburns? Action regen is so high i can't make it go down withmy carbinewhen only drinking one at time.

So maybe you could explain to me a scenario where sunburns are actually overpowered, because right now all i see is someone who knows VERY little about food, buffs, and secondary stats yelling nerf because they see a +1500 buff and assume it MUST be overpowered.

So I assume your next stop on the "Nerf Broken Professions 2003 Tour" will be the Commando forum, followed by the Bio-Engineer?

Move along, nothing to see here...

+1560 strength +1560 stamina -97 focus 375s

He is complaining because the stats for sunburn is +1560 strenght, +1560 stamina and -97 focus for 375 seconds.

And you are right about not wanting this class to be one great shcematic and a bunch of worthless ones. I think that schematics like sunburns should be at the top of the skill trees, and then we get schematics that build gradually towards them. Right now it is unbalanced, but I don't think taking away the only decent schematic we have will improve things.

SirVimes, just ignore him.

Coming to a Profession forum and yelling nerf for the ONLY item on our recipe list worth a **edit** simply because in his opinion it's overpowered is definitely a troll. Either that or he's a smuggler and doesn't like the fact that people are buying sunburns instead of his garbage.

Sunburns are balanced by 2 things: Duration and cost.

So yes, you can buff your str/sta by 1561 for 5 minutes at a time for about 100 credits a shot. And, to the original poster's logic, if you drink more than 2, you are going to be full for quite awhile longer than 5 minutes.

So it is overpowered to have my weapon style HAM costs reduced for 5 minutes at a time for 100 credits a pop, not counting the actual time to find a chef selling them.

Sorry that I don't agree with you, even ifyour suggestionwoulnd't gut the entire profession.

I don't want to call him a troll. If he thinks that they are overpowered, that is his opion. I strongly disagree with him and don't really think they are that overpowered.

However, the correspondent reports are suppose to reflect the community as a whole. If it seems that more people agree with him than not, then it will go into the report. If more people disagree with him, then asking them to nerf sunburn will not go into the report...and right now it looks like it won't.

as a doctor i can buff all health and action stats and substats by 2000 for 54 minutes. You are right sunburn is overpowered and needs to be nerfed.

I think most of us are just amazed he is even whining about it. Perhaps his comments would be valid if it was the only buff in the game but its 1 buff out of thousands and is not even the best buff. Jesus he is complaing about 6 minutes of buff, sheesh. He will have a Heart Attack if he gets an Enhancement Boost.
