Thread: I hate to say this but...
Tatooine sunburns are overpowered. Like, big time. Other chef food may or may not need a buff (I find that its not too hard to find buyers for the stuff, so I dont think it needs that large of a buff) but +1500 str and stamine for any amount of time is just wrong. Plus you can drink more than one.
If youre going to say that your other foods are underpowered, fine...but you should also include that Tatooine sunburns are overpowered in your reports.
Btw, the Enhancement Packs from doctors can boost your actual Health and Action bars by up to 1500 pts and can last for over an hour. Tatooine Sunburns pale in comparison.
"hehe sounds like someone got killed in PvP"
Nope, not at all. One of my friends just started making them. While I am happy that he can make something people will want...I realize that its ridiculously overpowered when compared to any other buff.
"I disagree. I do think that they should be much closer to master chef, but I don't see them being unreasonable overpowered..especially when I look at some of the spices smugglers offer. "
The comparison to spices isnt nessecarily a good one. The best spices smugglers have to offer for action is booster blue. That gives you 400 action and 400 quickness. 3000 stamina is far, far better than that, plus you get the 3000 str as well.
"Btw, the Enhancement Packs from doctors can boost your actual Health and Action bars by up to 1500 pts and can last for over an hour. Tatooine Sunburns pale in comparison."
But can it boost constitution or stamina by that amount? Constitution and stamina are far superior to health and action, because they give you more potential hp/action.
They are only overpowered if they imbalance things... like CH pets. Sunburns are available to anyone thus not overpowered. They may be underused by some people and thus those people may be at a disadvantage. However, that disadvantage is completely voluntary.

No your logic is flawed. A pistol with 999999 damage is only useful to someone who has the skills to use a pistol effectively. I'm certain that a 9999999 damage pistol would have a high weapon cert on it, therefore only pistoleers can use it. Also a novice pistol user has lower accuracy and worse specials than someone who is trained in that skill. Anyone can use a Tat. sunburn and can gain the benefits from it. There is no limiting factor on which proffessions or which races can use a sunburn.
Also, why don't we wait til they restructure our buffs (either up duration, up effect, include skill buffs, or a mix between any of the above) before we talk about nerfs. Tat. sunburn is just about our only saving grace buff that is marketable that allows us to make money using our profession, not running missions all day. Most other crafting classes can make a good amount of income using their skillpoints they have invested in their profession, why shouldn't we be allowed to as well. We need money in order to gather resources to grind our way up a very large xp curve ratio compared to xp given per product made.
The only thing it could possibly unbalance is the PvE game. I don't think this is a major concern though, its not as bad as 3 rancors in your pocket.
Doctors and Smugglers buff more than us, even though WE are supposed to be the buffing profession.
Go look it up. It's educational.
Plus the Tatooine Sunburn is the ONLY thing that buffs +1000 in the entire Chef line. How pitiful is that?

So by that same logic, if i made a pistol with 9999999 damage and made it availableto everyone, it would be balanced?
If you made a pistol that did that damage, it wouldn't be balanced for the reason above PLUS the fact that you made "a" pistol. It's not available to everyone... once it's purchased its use is available only to the buyer. A better analogy would be a universal weapon powerup that increased weapon damage to 9999999. That would be balanced as everyone but pure h2h (is there a h2h that doesn't use vibroknucklers?) could buy one and use it. However, in this case, I probably would agree that the powerup was overpowered as PvP battles would be a "first shot" contest.
TSs fall into the same category as armor. It's not necessary as people can fight without armor. However, going toe-to-toe against someone wearing armor while the other person is wearing their duster gives a decided advantage to the person in armor. So, your actual point is that Chefs shouldn't have a product that gives a decided PvP advantage to one person over another.
Wouldn't that make Chefs absolutely pointless? The reason people buy any product is to improve performance and give them that edge.

It doesn't matter if everyone can use it.
If they added in a new "hydrogen bomb" weapon in the game that could clear out anything within15 squareKM and anyone with any skill set could use it, it would and wouldn't be unbalanced.
It would be balanced in a sense because everyone is equal in killing ability, some just don't know about it, can't afford itor choose not to use it.
It would be unbalanced in way because, well, vaporizing every Gungan on Naboo is just way too powerfull of an ability for ANYONE to have. No matter how much they deserve it.
I know this is an extreme example, but you get the idea. ![]()
This is not to say that the Tatooine Sunburn needs to be nerfed. I would cry for weeks. I'm just pointing out that "everyone can do it!" isn't a proper reason for abilites or items that might be too powerful.
