well, i am paying from 2.5 to 3 cpu, i plan on working in practice mode so I will not affect the market.

Yes it is going to cost me a pretty penny, but I am in and out quick.. only thing I will ever produce is a case of tatooine sunburn as per my earlier post, as a gag gift for a friend.

Nothing against chef, you guys and your tat SB saved me many a time, just not my style and damnit if SOE didnt make me do it.

I dont know what I could contrubute to this profession, but if I can be of any help I will try .

I don't hate Holochefs per se, I have a really good friend who is a holochef.

Chef is a broken profession. It has taken 5 months to get any action on this. Before holocrons came out there were prolly 600 chefs in the whole game,

Chef is an unpopular professions played by a select group of players, but what is most important to me is that WE ALL WANT TO BE HERE. We love being a chef, and are dedicated to fixing the profession to make the game better and we all chose to become chefs.

Holochefs don't care about the profession. They are only intrested in gettting in and out as fast as possible. Holochefs don't become chefs because they are intrested in it, they become chefs as a means to an end. And because chef is a hard profession to grind through it is usually non stop bitching about how the profession sux.

I know this sounds strong but holochefs have sullied the Chef profession for me. I still love chef and the all the true, pre holo chefs are the best people in the game, but holochefs just learn the profession, take what they want and then cast it aside. So for my money holochefs should shut up and grind or make up another character and hope you holocrons don't tell you to come here again. We will both be better off for it.

geesh kalos,

you need a hug? I am sorry you have such issues with people trying to get to where they want to go. I am not stepping on any toes, actually quite refreshed with the perspective most chef's have.

and I love tatooine sunburn if that helps at all hehe.

Yazule,

I'm with Kalos on this one. I think everyone should be sullied with their professions after the idea of Holocrons. Holocrons, in my opinion and only my opinion, were a bad idea.I think it is disrespectful to all professions, not just ours, to jump in, spam the boards for the quickest and easiest way through the profession, and then gloat about how fast you did it and how much you spent on coffee, chocolate, and Mountain Dew to get through those two days.

I appreciate you, though, coming here and raising the question as to why we are a little hacked off, instead of making a spamming post like:

You chefs are all a bunch of whiny babies. I made the grind through chef in one day and made 100,000 credits selling everything for a credit each. You're nothing but a bunch of worthless, pathetic gamers, because you can't make food that does anything good and won't amount to anything worth pursuing! OH!!! How I HATED going through the chef tree!!! How boring!!!

Yeah, okay, so you get the picture.

I believe we have all given you honest answers in our frustrations.

I wouldn't say no to a hug yazule

My bark is worse than my bite. I also think holocrons are a bad Idea. I would have rather Jedi been chosen on their actions in the game and the merits of their character, not because they mastered Fencer, Marksman and Doctor.

Yazule I hope you don't take my post too badly. The Chef profession is more than a stepping stone to alot of the pre holochef, we chose to be chefs because we like the idea of the profession, it didn't matter that Chef was broken (although that didn't help).

Now we have a bunch of people walking through the profession complaining all the way because a holocron told them they needed chef to be jedi. I think it is a sign of larger problems with the game.

Now there are some holochefs who mastered Chef and said, hey this is really cool. I glad that they found a profession that they really enjoy and it makes me think "Wow, Holocrons are good for something"

The funny thing I have found is that whenever i get one of those annoying "help get through this torture the fastest" tells, they talk to me as if I'm another holochef, and when I inform them that I am a REAL chef, they are dumbfounded. hehe.

I am a HoloChef and i dreaded the fact that i had to be a crafter. I am a Combat class by heart. But i must admit i was very surprised at what a Chef is capable of crafting in the way of buffs. I also like the change it has given me.

The only problem i have is the prices people have put on the resources is outrageous. I am actually looking forward to Mastering Chef and then undercutting these criminals with my cheaper resources. I mean on eclipse server people ask for 5-10cpu for grind quality water!!!!

I have personally worked out what my harvs cost to pull up one unit of wheat and corn and it is 0.4 credits. People are charging 3000creds for 500 units on the Bazaar and more on vendors....this is stupid. I could make 1000% profit and still undercut them by 33%. I cannot wait to do this.......

I am not a HoloChef but I am grinding my way up to Master Chef as fast as possible. This is because I want to get a cantina, not just for my love of cantinas but also for my PA's player city. Once I hit Master Chef and get my cantina I am going to be the best chef I can. I am only grinding the skill path because the city needs a cantina fast otherwise the city isn't going to have many visitors. I have always intended to be a chef just needed combat skills before hand so I could make money to buy all the amazingly overpriced stuff. I haven't a clue what I am doing in this skill because I haven't had time to stop and play with things due to needing to grind. I ended up making about a million items of food from my generic crafter before some nice person told me what practice mode meant . All that food ended up on tha bazzaar at what ever price I thought was good. I haven't a clue whether it was so I am going to take it all off and find out and just give it to people in my PA so I don't annoy any other chefs. Hopefully once I hit Master Chef and have time to actually look at what I am doing I will be able to get help from and give help to other chefs.

heres what I did with any food I made from the grind....petfood. The drinks (yes IM) I actually was able to sell slowly on the bazaar over time, I also used them at parties where people care more about the looks and just having something to drink than what the drink is.

I am a Chef trying to get master, there isn'ta good one-item food to make for Chef expat the novice lvl. If anyone knows what tree I should go for, so I can grind out a particular food type with only one type of resource that would be a great help, thanks

i personally categorically object to the whole thing. While I have helped cron-chefs, I fail to grok. Seems to me the entire "grind x number of professions" just drains the game of what fun there actually is. And if holo-chefs ever unlock their "FSCS" they will have already been conditioned to grind, and that's what they will do. and more than likely that's what they've done with every game they have ever played. feeding habits that destroy the future viable of this game was a poor choice for developers, if in fact that is all there is to it.

so i say, "oh you want to ruin your gameplay experience? okay, but don't blame me."

Also trading me a holocron for all the FREE training might make me more tolerant of grinders. And because I RP, following a new path does not rob me of my gameplay...
