Hehe i mentioned it in another post that someone had mentioned that, couldnt remember who though.

I wouldnt mind a drop in resource use either. I guess the incriment of the "unit" is just really inconsistant from profession to profession.

Crikey you guys, I just made novice chef and haven't made another skill box yet, but you're all scaring me off.

As a newb chef, I want Sunburn to stay right where it **edit** sure is so I can get there within my lifetime. Realistically tho, it doesn't seem like it should be there from what I know about it and the other dishes. I share the feeling that there are way too many dishes that do the same thing, without any real diversity. Where is the creativity in the Chef profession? Skill buffs, special move resistance, etc would be welcome additions. As it is I'm not really looking forward to the road ahead, but I'm sticking with it because the Chef profession is so danged unique (I mean, I never even SAW one in ANY of the movies...)

I think recipes need rebalanced. No way Tatooine Sunburn should be Mixology 2. It should be in Mixology 4. But I think ALL things in the top boxes need to be increased. There's only 4 or 5 things worth selling, this is ridiculous in a buff profession. Most things in the top tier should be on par with Tatooine Sunburn, maybe a little less powerful. If they are gonna move Tatooine Sunburn to Mix 4, and leave other food the way it is..it's pointless everyone will just go Mixology 1-4. I personally would love to see specialized chefs...Entree Chefs, Dessert Chefs, Bartenders. But the only way this is gonna happen is if people can make quality buffs that sell at least when they hit the 4th box in the line.

I hope they do not think just rebalancing Chef tree alone is sufficient. It has to fit in with the Domestic Arts path growth, as well as with the other buffing professions in the game (Doctors and Smugglers). I completely fear a missing the forest for the trees situation.

I believe they said they are going to do a food rebalance, which should include Dom. Arts 4 items. I would really like to see them post the method of how they are going to change things soon like they did for the bio-engineer. Sure its nice that they responded and all, but they didn't give much detail. It would really be nice if they gave us a nice sized post explaining what they planned to do so that we could offer some feedback on the situation.

I have no problem with them rebalancing, so long as we know what they are doing before the update hits so that we can offer feedback

It'sa necessary evil.

And there's plenty of room for improvement. If their re-balance is worth a **edit**, then MixII will suddenly be able to make a lot more useful items, not just 1 useful item and a bunch of crap.

Just making Novice Chef foods be better than Domestic IV would be a good start, and if it moves up from there, then maybe chef will be worth something.

Too bad that I no longer have any room in my character plan for Chef. Can't sit on that many skill points for what may turn out to be 2 months of waiting for a good rebalance.

Personally, I'll be very surprised if their re-balancing does anything other than leave us with the same old crap but in different places.

please mail them a general direction with these infos :

Master Doc :

Buffing for 2,5 hours the 6 upper stats for 1900 points and more.

The "Mind" stats are buffed by smuggler for 500 each. time period is 800 secs if i remember right.

Those two are professions with ONE buffline. They can rezz or other nice things.

As a a chef is a pure buffer with one elite prof. completly dedicated to buffs, i think we should top those two examples.

Anything to get the profession a little more "buff" diversity, if it stays the way it is there is no reason for me to make anything other than the 4 best foods. The rest would be worthless.

We shouldn't top those two examples. We should come near. You forget that:

a) Spices give the same effect, except NEGATIVE of the buff after it wears out for a few minutes. They also only have a single use each. In addition, only one spice can be consumed at a time, so multiple spices cant be simultaneously used, unlike chef buffs, where you can use 4 at the same time.

b) Chef buffs can be eaten by anyone anytime. Doctor buffs need to be applied by the doctor. I rarely see anyone go to a doctor for buffing, despite the power of theirs... its just too much hassle(and they dont last2-5 hours. Take 30-90 minutes, generally for about 500-1800, at master doctor)

Oh, and I think the rebalancing is great. I have a few buffs I make, and the rest are worthless.

However: A word of warning to lower level chefs: It's very likely that your buffs will become useless... The same way as novice weaponsmiths and armormiths weapons/armor are useless... since the stats are a lot lower, people will just go to the masters. I doubt this trend will stop.

"let's say that you are at Mix II and can make tatooine sunburns. What if they rebalance the recipes and you can no longer make tatooine sunburns...you need Mix IV to do that. Instead you are given new recipes that require different resources."

Fine by me, Sunburn is misplaced, in my opinion.

that doesnt mater that chef food can be eaten anywhere they still need to be the best buffs in the game

We are the Primary Buffers , We arnt the poopy Alchemist that can make tiny little buffs .. if you went threw the Tutorial when you got to the part about food.

The Lady said something to the degree:

"Food is optional in starwars galaxies but very helpful to your characters physical and mental abilities , Food acts as the buffs in Starwars Galaxies. The Chef profesion crafts the must benifical products."

They dont say "Doctors are the buffers of starwars galaxies"

They say Food is.. That led me to believe I would be the best buffer looking at the fact my entire Characters skill line was focused on buffing and nothing else and each tree took more exp then mastering the doctor profesion I figured I would be the best for sure..

Well im a master chef and I have spice craft 4 even at master Tatoonie sunburn is the most popular food I can make .. Smuggler is much easier to level up i hit spice craft 4 in a little more then a hour

it took me sence release of the game to even get to master chef. I do not believe Spices should compare to food at all , They shouldnt be better buffs

The Fact that they STACK with food is all they need.

The Fact Doctor buffs STACK with food is all they should need.

Chef Should be the buffer those 2 class are the Secondary Buffer. Secondary is less effective but stacks with the primary

As for the Agruement Side effects and the Doctor has to be there

YOU forget the limitations every Character has with the Filling Bar for Food and Drink. That is Just as bad as Spices Side Effects.

That is even worse the needing the doctor to be there.

If you fill yourself up you will wait 20 mins or more too gat it back down. so you can eat more then 1 piece of food again.
