Results of my testing. Notes after each time event. Mind stats: 911/484/484

09:34:46 You consume Smugglers Delight by 'zeta'.

*Icon appears for the food consumed.

09:35:02 The Muon Gold irradiates your body increasing your mental clarity and focus.

*Icon showing Smugglers Delight vanishes and is replaced by the Muons. 10 min timer starts. Mind stats: 1411/984/984

09:45:02 The Muon Gold fades, leves your mind feeling weak and slow.

*Normal downer happens. Mind stats: 412/1/1 (-500/-483/-483). Icon for Muon leaves.

09:45:07 The negative effects of the Muon Gold seem to have passed.

*Still at 412/1/1 on mind. No indicator that I have any effects in the stats box. Just in attributes screen.

09:48:40 Mind stats return to normal.

So as you see, the effects of the downtime are still 3mins and 33sec. Why this wasn't caught on test server is beyond me.

may sound simple but did you eat the food at the right time? maybe you need to eat it after the drug wears off/while the drug is active, not before? i dont use drugs so i dont know and i cant make the food yet so i havnt tested it myself but they are my thoughts

No, when you take it, it says it will lessen the effects of your next one taken. And I tried several times.

SD says in it Reduces teh downtime period of the next spice taken. So here we go:

**SD eaten right after taking Muon**

13:54:04 The Muon Gold Irradiates your body increasing your mental clarity and focus.

*Mind stats same as above.

13:54:51 you consume Smuggler's Delight by 'zeta'.

*Icon comes up, starts count down of1 hour.

14:04:04 The Muon Gold fades, leaves your mind feeling weak and slow.

*TImer comes up, 3mins 33 seconds. Icon for SD still there.

14:07:24 The negative effects of the Muon Gold seem to have passed.

*Logged out at this time to clear*

**SD Taken when effects of Muon Downer hit**

14:09:10 The Muon Gold irradiates your body increasing your mental clarity and focus.

14:19:09 The Muon Gold fades, leaves your mind feeling weak and slow.

*Timer starts at 3:33

14:19:19 You consume Smuggler's Delight by 'zeta'.

*Icon comes up, but timer stays the same.

14:22:42 The negative effects of the Muon Gold seem to have passed.

So we have tried it;

1. Taking before. Does not help.

2. Taking during. Does not help.

3. Taking after. Does not help.

If you take it after you eat the muon, the nothing happens. Then on the next spice you take it says the downer goes quicker (see above) but it still has the full downer.

Reasons this wasn't caught:
1) characer copy unavailable
2) no resources made available to testers
3) TC changes made without warning, notice, or documentation every couple days, leaving players retesting the same things they tested the day before in order to see if and how they'd changed.
4) SOE performed no/inadequate internal testing, counting on players to do the testing for them, despite the fact the testers lacked the necessary skills, credits, and resources to even make all the foods, much less test the effects.

Not that catching bugs would've gotten it fixed, mind you. Many of the bugs the testers did catch went Live anyway.

After the first couple of major patches..... I stopped being disillusioned by the Dev Team. They have a sound track record for screwing up more than they fix. I will let their history speak for itself. The sad fact is they are not here for us the current players. They are here to add to the game to draw in new players. The sole purpose of this is to make more money for SOE.

I am not a champion of negativity..... Realism is the path I walk.

That's funny, I gave some of these to someone on the premise that they'd test it.

They said their downer with 34% down was only ~2 minutes. And only 33 seconds with a BE enhanced 83% Smuggler's delight. I remember the 33 seconds because he thought the 2 smugglers delight had stacked to give a very short downer (17% of 3m33s is around 36s, so they likely don't)

Maybe there was some other problem.

It will look like it, it will even say so. But if you look at your stats, you still suffer from the negative effects.

C'mon, give us a break! We had a hand full of chefs (even less with Deserts IV) testing 80 new schematics.

How come you didn't test this on the test center?

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound insulting. SOE also has an internal testing deptartment. One of the things they had said was the were going to make sure they all were working.

I've played on test before awhile back. And I beta'd. I submitted reports quite frequently. And I still do. Its just frustrating that dev's feel it more important to put in a cross server chat system *which is broke half the time if it works at all* instead of focusing on the true problems first.

They compound the issue's by releasing more items faster then they fix others.

And the reason I didn't test it on TS, I have a full time business that takes up quite a bit of my time, I would say about 80% of it. Other 20%, playing.

It worked for me...

200 seconds normal hangover.

115 seconds from eating smuggler's delight BEFORE eating the spice.

Note that it does say that it affects the NEXT eaten spice.

When it says that the negative blablabla left body, press ctrl-c and you'll see that you still have the downer.
