I believe that most professions did not receive the answers that they wanted. I didn't expect to have things fixed right away but I do agree that it's their job to be looking into this. I assume that they didn't know that these problems were present and are looking into it so they can balance it properly. I think that Carbineer's have excessively high HAM costs, but that's not to say that they should cost as little as the Pistoleer's.

As for the special moves, I've already told them about the specials not working as planned and pointed them towards Lagrimas' post. However, I'll have a whole test done on every carbine skill imaginable ready in the near future. We'll get these specials up and running. Currently, as a Master Carbineer, I feel like I did when I was a Novice with a few skill boxes in each branch.

We all know that eachprofession has their issues. We all want something fixed. Some classes are more broken then others. I'm positive that most people were shocked or outraged with the responses. In most cases and from those who I have spoken with, it comes accross as if they don't play the game themselves. However, I remember reading a post stating that most of their reponses will be along the lines as "No, it's working as intended" or "We're looking into it, no ETA yet."

I think that investigating an issue is the general answer at looking at what we mean by saying that X is broken for themselves. I will soon be able to post plenty of screen shots of our skills that are not working as stated or are just not working properly at all. Other than this, I have already informed them as much as I can. I can only hope that they have read my second report.

One thing tha this might illustrate...

Bug reports are absolutely useless.

To imagine that the Developers were not / are not, aware of our issues,

these as well as the far greater, more specific list most of us carry about, and recall as we play,

is to believe that the reports that

you

I

most everyone files on a fairly regular basis,

are going unheeded.

What is done with those reports?

How many times have people posted, in various threads on these, and other, issues, about reporting the specials not working,

HAM costs being exorbinant,

and whatever personal observations on the how Carb was actually functioning in-game Vs. How it was "supposed" to be?

I know that early on I opened a Ticket regarding the HAM costs.

The answer I recieved was that this was the first they heard of it and that I should send a Bug report in at the specific times this occuried,

noting what creature,

what the HAM cost was,

what my exact Cords were.

I had just switched from a CDEF to a DH17,

I found these boards shortly before recieving a response from a CSR.

In a very short time I learned that what was happening was happening accross the board,

Everyone was being affected.

I also learned that I was not the first to have brought this to SOE's attention.

Since then I have filed numerous Bug reports on a wide range of issues.

I am far from being alone in this.

We are a responsible profession in this regards.

I ask again,

What is happening to these reports?

Correspondents are nice,

but,

the question here is whether the Corespondent system is being used to facilitate dialogue and the transfer of information for the betterment of the game

Or,

is it another layer to insulate SOE and Lucas arts from it's user base,

as the CSR system appears to be...

Then hopefully they're going to fix that problem where we end up motionless for a couple seconds anytime we start firing at a new target.

The correspondent reply that started this thread is a template the developers used on every forum, from what I can tell. If you really want some entertainment, check out Commando.

They just copy/pasted the same reply there, too, for all the thought put into the reply.

I love being ignored, don't you?

I said, I love being ig... never mind.

Ok, I may be new posting to the boards here, but I've been a Carbine user since day ONE.

Yes, it should he a clue when I ask in town: "Anyone have a good carbine for sale? Any certification here!" and the responses I get are "There's no such thing as a good carbine", or "You're certified on all of 'em? You sure wasted a lot of points...LOL", or "Get a pistol", or "Carbine sucks", and so on. But guess what, it's still my bag.

Hey, I'm not asking to be turned in to the most desired class around, but at least a fair break would be nice. After the recent "non-answer" session and "no-help" patch, I'm sitting here in awe. With anything other than a crappy CDEF, I literally kill myself and never get touched. I know it's all been said before, but to me this is one of those things like: "I can't BELIEVE this even needs to be ASKED for!!!"

EVERYONE knows carbine is inferior. Hmm, maybe that's why I can't ever find a decent one for sale. No weaponsmith even wants to make 'em! I can't lie. I do GREAT with my carbine; for about ONE kill. Then I usually have to set up a camp for 10 minutes to get my HAM back. A few bugs here and there in the special moves department, but if the HAM costs alone were tweaked a bit, I'd be willing to bet that most folks would be happy to wait patiently for other fixes and such.

But then again, I may just go novice bounty hunter, and only train up the Carbine column. Afterall, they have it better and easier. Again, I know this has been addressed already, but at this point, I don't think there can be ENOUGH posts about this. Yeah, I know other classes have it rough too. My dear commando's, my heart bleeds for ya (literally from my last leg shot 2 a week ago with a DH17).

Just a little of my personal experiences, all of my r/l friends who play SWG (12 total in all) use pistol exclusively. I'm working on the Carbineer skill tree and they're just at pistol specialist and laughing all the way to the bank! They do more damage, they take less, and they're the ones who are "up close and personal". I know the mobs down usually no closer to myself than about 25m and I take more damage. Forgive the term for I know this is fantasy BUT, how realistic is that???

Anyway, I'm never giving it up, and I'll even keep paying to play even when I'm so frustrated I smoke 3 packs/day instead of 1. I'd just like a little something to keep me smiling over this favorite profession of mine. I'm sure others feel the same.

Thanks for listening all, and may the weaponsmiths be lenient on their prices to you.

for the stuttering, drunken-style combat that afflicts us cabineers, rejoice! the fencers listed it as one of their top 5 (i knew that it happened to carbines and rifles, but NOT pistols), and the devs responded that 'its their least favorite bug' and they're working hard to find a way to fix it. umm, another of the melee top5 was that it was hard to accurately judge the distance of mobs, and the devs are actively working on ways to fix that too...should keep the mobs from biting us from 20m away when they get it solved.

maybe, we should talk really nice to the pistoleer correspondent, and get him to post one of our issues in their top5. the the commandos should take 3 of 'em, leaving pistoleers with one. and then, droid engineers/chefs/bio-engineers can each take one from creature handler, and umm, er...some from bounty hunter too, i guess. and lets have the squad leaders get some luvin' from the bh top5 too =D

/sigh

Well then if carbines are meant to kite then that would rock. I was planning on using my pistol skills to kite but if I can kite with a carbine. . . awesome!

Investigate? It's hard?

They managed to triple the ham cost for BH and TKA knockdown attacks in the last update. How about they do the reverse for carbineers and halve the ham cost for our specials? I mean, if it's so **edit** easy to triple costs for certain attacks, how about halving the costs for others?

Honestly, how much more canwe buy the excuse that "it's so complex to test"? Maybe it's hard to fix the experimentation issue for weaponsmiths, but it looks like it's a lot simpler just to fix the cost multipliers for special attacks.

Oh,

and the rear seats had to be supported with a stick (for some reason they were double jointed and stable in NEITHER direction hehe)

One test drive would point out these problems,

All I can come up with is hearing Han's voice over in the noob tutorial saying, "This place is gonna blow." I guess that's about it. At least Han was honest.
Playing SWG is like licking a steel post in the wintertime. Sure it hurts. If you leave, parts of you will remain.
