Yes, you can hit the cap and be firing at 1.0 with a 2.5 carbine, but specials have a speed penalty. Pistoleers can spam specials as much as they want every second, but Master Carbs still have the delay. Pistoleers have guns that fire quicker AND have a higher speed reduction then us. They can get a regular Dx2, and can have it damage sliced with a damage power-up, and still spam specials almost every second. To have a good carbine be 2.5, you'll need a speed slice, and thus have less damage, and still can't spam specials.

yeup pistolers definetly have the DPS advtanage over us, as well as riflemen do too.. which shouldn't be, WE should have the DPS advantage, pistolers should have the firing on the move advantage, and rifleman should hit hard from long distance.
The thing that seperates carbineers from other ranged professions should be the fact that we can multi task. Logic dictates that a shortened rifle, or carbine,is a medium speed/power/range weapon. Carbines areTHE all purpose weaponbecause of this. Balance shouldnot bejust us getting better, it also needs to involve others getting weaker. A rifles should be the slowest, most powerful and most accurate from long ranges of the three ranged weapons. Pistoleersshould be the fastest, least powerful andbe the most accurate from short ranges. Carbines, of course, should be of medium speed, medium power andmost accurate from midranges.
Lessening HAM charges for special attacks, fixing some broken specials, and improving carbine weapon selection is going to put carbineers back in the mix butto be truely balanced the above changes should be made. Then all you have to worry about is how a solo fencer can run off a streak of 4 to 6 attacksat 3k to 4k damage each and have little HAM penalty to show for it.
adding new carbines may help ...but why odnt they actually make the elite carbine an "Elite gun" the 1 i have is 146-211 but thats not even good, i mean shoot my lazer carbine is 123-522 dmg 46.1% wound ...now that pounds the elite into the ground and its not the supposidly highest weapon...bah

Nova, if the whole combat system is being addressed could you prod them a little about our defense? We have way less than rifleman or pistoleer, and counterattack doesn't ever, well counterattack ![]()
It was fine to have low defenses when there was no KD/PC timer because then it relied on your skill of not letting things get close enough to hit you. Now we can't keep creatures off of us, and we still have lousy defense.
im as happy as anyone but we should stop saying fix this 2 when we got REPONSE be grateful ther fixin anything let them fix this first.![]()

So all the carbineer problems won't get fixed until June or something? We've got to wait like 6 months just to get our specials working as intended? God.
