We all know they've changed damage types...but they keep denying it, and saying it has never happened.


...besides, new weapons would be great. Wouldn't you want to hold a T20?

The real problem I see with the "no new guns" more along the lines of the lack of selection. I would be perfectly happy if they added an electricity gun and a cold gun (or two new damage types) that had AP0 and did damage along the line of an EE3 (without the radius stat). I think AP1 would be more reasonable (not 2 or 3, mind you), just so we could be distinguished from the pistols, but that is not the main concern.


It would seem reasonable to have a high selection of damage types with low AP for pistols, a moderate selection of damage types with mid AP damage for carbines, and a low selection of high AP damage types for rifles.


Last count, pistols have 6 damage types, rifles have 5 (I think), and carbineers have 3. I don't expect to have a new "ub3r l33t" gun which will "pwn PvP combat" (so I do not necessarily want one damage type to be stun). I just want a few more options of damage types when I go into combat.


Then again, TH has spoken, and it was not meant to be, it seems.

I think I kinda know how you all feel. I'm hopeing those are some great and fun changes that TH has mentioned waiting for us in a few months. I'm a master rifleman and a master carbineer, and I must say as a rifleman I feel spoiled. What with 3 new rifles.


We did get that nifty new enhanced E-11 from the Emperor's Retreat. Its a welcome little addition. But it would be nice if they would give us something new. So many carbines they can pick from both in the movies and the RPG resource books.

Can we get this raised as a correspondant issue ?


We are now the only ranged class that does not have a stun weapon, which puts us at a severe disadvantage in PvP. Rifleman has had 2 or 3 new weapons, so has pistoleer, most of which are very good weapons and player craftable so they can be loot made. We get the fairly poor Nym's carbine which is barely distinguishable from the DXR6 we already have, and non craftable so is a stock weapon.


Ok, so we have had most of our specials fixed, which is more than some classes can say, but it still feels like that in terms of weapons we are getting the shaft.

A new carbine would be cool but I don't think the answer to balance is to give everyone stun weapons. The whole armor system needs to be revamped so that we are not playing RoboCop Online. While speed does make the Rifleman powerful it was never much of a problem before because pistoleers and carbineers did some nasty damage as well and had those ranged knockdowns (made useless by the ridiculous KD foods added in the game). You'd be surprised how equal the professions are when armor and buffs are thrown out of the equation. Not perfectly equal, but 10 times better than it is now.

Actually the T21 was set at AP0 for the first few months. After a really long "fix the T21" thread SOE finally said they would change it. They changed it in a hot fix the next day. Two hours after the servers came back up Raph made a post saying it was over powered and people were complaining about it. So the very next day they nerfed the T21 by reducing it's AP and damage. They then wrote another post justifying why they did it. In the post he compared the DPS of a below average, unsliced scatter pistol to a perfect T21 with a perfect slice. This just pissed people off more since either SOE is completely retarded, or is willing to botch their numbers to make themselves look good. So after admitting they made a mistake they had another hot fix the next day changing the T21 back to AP3, although it still had a slightly nerfed damage. They managed to do all of this within a 3 day period.

Well I would like at least TWO damage types and about FOUR new Carbines.....but there is a time and place to bring up each issue. Now is not the time for such discussions IMO. And the damage type discussion is a Top 5 item and already in the Devs hands. If we had another 10,000 Carbineers here, then they MIGHT hear us

With all due respect to Thunderheart, he is not the last word. One of our Top 5 Issues is damage-types and it is quite possible that the Devs decide to add a new carbine soon. I am not saying hold your breath, but everything is up in the air still and I push for our issues all the time. Basically, from my point of view, this is not the end of the discussion...
