Carbineer/ doctor here, About charge shot, yes is kool but not the best thing in the world, think about it, all proffesion got very powerful skills and most of our skills are broken or arent than good, and FOR all of you who is calling for nerf, i will accept it if they fix charge 2 and they balance our class with the others ( oh and what about the area dizzy???). But watching how ppl is whinning about MBH and TKA dizzy/kd i think devs prefer to maintain charge shot 1 as it is.


Maybe making the skill hardest to attain ( 4th box for example ) it will avoid to see those ppl with 0/0/02 in carbineer.


Think about charge shot helps but is not the best thing.

Hehe internet is so wonderfull. People defending a completly totally overpowered ability. How can you say a special that KD with NO DELAY REUSE isn't overpowered? Yes your class is broken and SHOULD be fixed but come on this shouldn't stay in game. Got killed like 6 times yesterday on kauri by a guild of guy that are all master carabiner + bh carabine. Let me tell you its virtually invulnerable as long as they got buff and one cm. They ll just spam the **edit** out of you with charge shot.


I have 120 resist KD but chargeshot IGNORE resist, I got kded like 30 times yesterday, how stupid is that? my template is massively toward resist ( 120kd 120dizzy 100 blind posture change, 110 stun) for less melee/ranged def. If some special start ignoring my resist then may as well put the character in the closet huh ?


That special definitely need to be fixed because now thats its out people are starting to get all over it in pvp and if its not fixed in one month or so we ll see more master carabiner running around than mtka/rifleman.


FYI I m master pistoleer/pikeman + fencer 4/4/4/0 and only there is nothing I can do against that kind of template when it should actually be the kind of template I totally own ( considering it shouldn't be able to KD me).

Your a Jedi and I gotta love your setup here.


You had your alt go BH so you could monitor the BH terminals.


Now your screaming nerf to chargeshot as your "Bounty Hunter" but since we know your a JEDI the cat's out of the bag huh.


You sir are a disgrace using false pretenses to scream nerf and dropping it off in the Bounter Hunters lap.

Follow up post.


I see alot of this on the boards. Until you become familiar with the posters it's very difficult to read whats really going on.


Posts like this are a prime example of someone pushing their own agenda. JEDI. And using the Bounty Hunters as the fall guys. You have to wonder why the Bounty Hunter Boards are so entertaining and generally bad. One thing I have seen from being and reading the BH boards for a while now is this exact kind of behavoir of false information and personal agenda's. The is the biggest single failing point of having the boards. It's a shame folks have to use each other in such an outright deceptive manner. It really goes to show the quality or really in this case the lack of quality some people show.


Remember that when you read something like this be sure to click on that profile and take a look at their past posting. Then you can get a sense of where they may be coming from.

Okay...I'm a Heavy Swordsman/Brawler, and people spam Charge Shot on me all the time thinking it will stop me...


...that is the move of a newbie Carbineer...someone who doesn't understand it. The only class that can seem to rip of KD after KD is Teras Kasi.


Most *good* Carbineers charge shot you once, then while you're KD either throw a FAA to hopefully dizzy you, cripple shot or scatterblast you (Damage modifier while KD)


People wanna spam it on me I love it. So busy spamming they never see bleeds on'em.

could always move charge shot up in the skill trees..... or put at master.... so it would be harder to dabble

I agree. I am just a lowly master carbineer. I have not the abilities that you speak of. ok well not all of them. But charge shot doesn't work all the time against those big beasts. The last time I tried on a kimo he took about three before it finally kicked in. If not for the launcher pistol of that mercenary guy, one of my party, and a flamethrower. Well I wouldn't have gotten past the first one.

charge shot is....amusing, to be sure. simple fact in almost every case - things that other classes could take on with ease(riflemen killing them before they have a chance to attack, pistoleers bearing the attack and dodging the whole time, melee of any type tanking) a carbineer gets his tail handed to him in a bag with....EXCEPT that a carbineer is able to keep the target pinned to one spot, unable to attack. this might seem to be totally unbalanced(and i must admit...i'm only a couple days away from heading to tatooine in search of a krayt dragon to see how easily i can solo it), but in almost any other combat situation, a pure carbineer has a MAJOR disadvantage. and as mentioned already, it doesnt really work in PVP.

thinking about a carbine and what it does ingame, one realizes....you're targeting the legs of your target, the things that allow it to move. even a hit that doesnt actually knock the target over should make it unable to move. thus the message "your attack failed to knock down your target" can be considered entirely accurate still while your target persists in its non-motion.

if they change charge shot 1 they darn well better change the other specials to let us do effective crowd control or carbineer WILL become as useless as most people seem to think it already is.

Please don't make asinine comments. That's like saying a smuggler who uses low blow on you hits a dude's groin every shot and therefore you shouldn't be able to move, either.

I hate to say it, although in PvE it lets you do all sorts of "no no's" acording to what the devs have defined asa 'red' con mob, but in PvP, if *just* CS is why you loose, you're gonna loose anywho. There are much more powerfull attacks in PvP then to KD someone for 1/2 a secound. (even if spamed, if you know what to do, it is easy to get off shots/heal ones self, hell those are things you can evendo while kd/dizzy).


The only rebutle I have to keep the shot as is:Crowd Controll. No other class has skills set up to be able to do this. Granted in EQ I was a hardcore PvE , and only PvP in very rare situations. But my duties in EQ where crowd controll, I had the ability to 'Mez' people/mobs for periods of 30sec-60sec+. It was TONS of fun having this responsibility, when it was a group of 6 vs 4-6 nasty yellow/red cons, my groups life was in my hands. I'm a BH now that has dabled in Carbineer and Pistoleeer. I dabled for the defense bonuses. I really love on raids to be in charge of crowd controll. I dontdo tons of damage, but I will be damned if a group of enemies is going to break off the main group and flank our squad.


What needs to be changed is not the shot itself, but some other dynamics of how states work. KD should be on a 10 sec timer. Once dizzied you should have a max of 3 tries to stand, after 3 tries if you fail on each the 4th is a guranteed to acomplish a stand. This would still allow for about 7 secounds before the next KD could be issued.


This would prevent KD spam in PvE, stop all the whining about KD/dizzy combo's (well at least the ones that have legitamite gripes), still keeps the shot usefull, (honestly the BH KD's IMO are a joke) and still allow for a workable system for both 1v1 situations AND for mass raids to allow a little crowd controll w/out hampering EVERYONES game play. I dont understand why some of these solutions seem so hard to come by. Allthey have to do is think.
