Thread: So whats the Carbineer feedback from TC guys?

I know we're testing starting professions, and I'm having a good time doing that, but I peeked at the skills a carbineer has, and I'm curious: We seem to have lost a skill or two. I see scatter shot, leg shot, crippling shot, etc, but wild shot is gone, for example. Being able to stun was nice. Did it just get moved to some other profession, or what?

Reguarding starting professions: The new moves are a nice job. I like the knockdown ability of the close-range marksman move.

Two things I'm noticing:
- I didn't use tumbling much on live, so I'm not 100% on how it works, but the tumble "buff" seems to last an awful long time, even after I stand up, run around for a while, etc.
- I'm not sure if it's a lag issue or what, but when I'm 'kiting' a melee opponent, they seem to be able to hit me if I'm within 20m of them. If we're both standing still, they can't hit me, but both of us running in one direction, they can. That's weird.

Well at Carbines II marksman I could almost solo a nuna, so it gets easier when you reach higher ranks, although often got ganked by his friends though

So group up!

The whole game is changing, look at it like Carbineer and every other prof started with zero Abilities and no role or distinction.....

And yes there are a lot of bugs, hence the testing we are doing......

So far my one and ONLY problem with the CU is this:

The E11 Carbine, one so natoriously used by the Stormtroopers shoots out some green electrical ball!! what the heck??

The NGE is a decent start. Now lets bring the rest of the worlds up to par with Tatooine and Mustafar

Yep, thats pretty much the only thing I dont like, all the weapon effects like stupid now and are deffinatly not starwars, that goes for the sound aswell.

well at first i thought it was a dissaster, but i slept on it and ahve changed my mind. everything looks great so far. oviously a lot of bugs being the first day, but people have been reporting all the bugs and they should be fixed soon.

its definetly more group oriented, and just by looking at some of the skill trees it seems every profession is a little more unique in its role. hopefully i can get on tonight to actually level up a little and try out some of the different things

After a day of thought, the only things that really piss me off are the fonts and the blaster bolts... the bolts look stupid. I'll try again tonight!

The bolts for the lower level weapons (cdef, DC-17 & snubnose) are all much better graphics wise than what we have now...i think they look great....but what the heck is this green ball??

I dont wanna sound like I'm trying to brag here, but it isn't all that hard to solo xp - I did it and hit xx22 in a few hours (marksman of course). You just need to understand that CU Nuna = Current Nuna isn't at all true. Creatures that were 1 hit kills are harder because A) We're all noobs B) We're using free weapons made and distributed by frogs C) Stick to you're level and you'll be fine. Also if you want to solo grind head out to the middle of nowhere and find a lair of the appropriate strenght. Oh and those bug grenades need to be tweaked lol, everyone is near or has Ranged Support IV because of it.

That sentence took a turn for the worse right at the last word there. Boy it really pulls you into the story though, you think to yourself, wow, free is the third word and it's referring to weapons. I mean how can it get any worse from there?

Ifyou took that exact sentence and said it to someone at work they'd look at you likeyou were nuts, and then would probably be making phone calls.

I agree with the context though, the newbie critters seemed fair to those of us who've played the game. Myself and some friends really walked through our missions and ended up looking for randomGorgs because nothing else was interesting or challenging with 4 people consisting of2 ranged, 1 melee and a medic.

I know you guys can only test out novice marksman but,...............Does it look like carbs will be more versatile than rifleman? versatile as in states, AOE, able to work effictevly in close-med combat ranges?

I've played myself up to 0022 Marksman. Been grouped most of the time with my guildies from Eclipse. We're havinga blast.

Try playing a complete newbie on live and it's kinda hard there as well as on TC-CU. Devs have even stated that XP on TC is very slow and are very likely to change.

I'm not sure but today if felt like mobs hit much softer. Yesterday I got rocked for 200-250 by some newbie mobs, today it was like 60-100.

The new laser bolt animation looks much better though.

Can't wait to get my hands on some bigger guns and better skills.

i played again last night and managed to get to 0 1 2 3 in marksman. grenades are way overpowered. i was in a group of 8 of just about every profession mix and it was a lot of fun. we killed cu-pa's and even managed to bring down a greater desert womp rat with a lot of startegy and more grenades then i can count. so far so good... still can't find those certs though

Real shame the non-attackingNPC's on other planets and grenades and access to ALL specials is ruining the testing process......the use of such things just means we have to stay at this noob stage longer and wait for actual Carbineer testing....

Finding the bugs/exploits are key, but using them helps nobody

The real travesty is in rushing this to Public Beta without any Alpha Testing by players.....
