I really like that site, I came up with a not-so-bad template, nothing related to carbines but I might as well mention it:


BH 4040

Pistoleer 0043

Commando 0440

Novice Medic


Advantage: insane pistol speed and accuracy, damage choices, specials and blowing stuff up with rocket launchers and the flame bleeding effect from flamethrower.

melee def +35

ranged def +17

pistol accuracy +115

pistol speed +105

ranged mitigation +4


Disadvantage: slightly less than average defenses.

I'm currently working on the following template. So far, it has been extremely successful for me in pvp.


Master Carbineer - BH 0/4/4/0 - Pistoleer 0/0/4/3 - Novice Medic





Carbine Accuracy - 190

Carbine Aiming - 25

Carbine Accuracy While Moving - 30

Carbine Speed -115

Counterattack - 105


Pistol Accuracy - 115

Pistol Accuracy While Standing - 15

Pistol Speed - 105

Dodge - 10


General Ranged Aiming - 30


Ranged Defense - 42

Melee Defense - 32


Defense vs Blind - 40

Defense vs Dizzy - 40

Defense vs Intimidate - 25

Defense vs Knockdown - 65

Defense vs Posture Change (Down) - 20

Defense vs Stun - 40






Advantages- Max Speed Carbines

Max Accuracy Carbines

Wide Variety of Carbine Specials That Apply Different States

Defense vs Every State

Includes Fire and Mind Bleed from Pistols

Mind Shot From Pistols

Medic To Heal


Disadvantages - Low Melee and Ranged Defenses

Lack of Intimidate Skill

NoState Cures


Summary -This template allows for every Carbine to fire at maximum speed with the highest possible chance to hit. Add a good ideal range Carbine and a snow cake and you are garunteed to overcome Dodge from fencer. The extra accuracy and speed eliminate the need for expensive, hard to replace Skill-Enhancing Attachments or speed-sliced Krayt carbines.


The biggest advantage is you can apply several different states and bleeds to hinder your opponent's ability to fight normaly. Apply stun first and your other states will stick like glue. The pistol is your secondary weapon in which you can quickly put on several pistoleer states, including an extremely precious state - FIRE. Being able to catch your opponent on fire gives yourself an edge when draining an opponents health pool. (Not to mention the annoying health wounds. /chuckle)


The biggest disadvantage is that your opponent will more than likely hit you every time. This is a plague that all Carbine holding fighters must endure. However, you are not completely lost. Good armor and shields work to minimize the damage taken from your opponent. The state defenses will ensure that states your opponent will try to use on you will be less effective. An extremely important thing to note is that your Defense vs Dizzy and KD will help to minimize being stuck in a knocked down position. It is also important to note that dizzy defense drinks will also further lower the risk of Dizzy/Kd.


The lack of intimidate is a big disadvantage as you will not be able to have any effectiveness vs a Jedi. I am planning on altering this template to make up for that loss. I will post my findings in the future.


All in all, an excelllent template. I am having extreme fun with it.The power of being able to effectively killopponents from a distance is extremely fun. Not to mention ChargeShot 2 is always hilarious when 3 or 4 people try to gang up on me.

Justuss, sounds like a good template, but as you found out....tough to beat me with 4440 Fencer and 0043 Pistoleer

i just changed my template to include the bh carbine branch


Carbineer - Master

BH - 0400

Squad Leader - 3214


This give me sick carbine ability while allowing me to play a profession that isnt just a fighter. The catch is that SL sucks right now and i weeded out everything in in that sucks. I still have my xp capped and i will probably run back up it after the revamp but for right now im keeping my BH stuff so i dont get whipped in pvp. Major disadvantage is that my guy has no melee defense except what is provided by SL, although im not sure if i receive that buff or not.

I have a qestion about adding some Pistoller skills. I plan on mastering BH and Carbines. I will have 18 extra skill points and I cannot decide if I should go 0/0/3/0 with the status defenses and use of the geo sonic blaster or go with 0/0/0/3 with the melee defensives which I am not sure if they will be high enough to matter. Any suggestions would be helpful thanks.

Depends on if you're more interested in PvE or PvP.


PvE - go with pistoleer 0-0-0-3 for the melee defense since that is the damage creatures typically do.


PvP - go with pistoleer 0-0-3-0 for the state defenses. Much more valuable.

- You can Hunt Jedi, Great with both Carbs and pistols, Geo pistol Cert, Pretty good defenses.

- I haven't tried this template PvP yet, but when I solo'd in the squill cave just using my pistol, I had no problems evenwhenswarmed by 20 squills. Just make sure you got Muon or Nutron Pixie and Brandy and Vercupti

- Mastering BH is just not worth it right now, and the only time I wish I had Medic skills are when I'm trying to heal my wounds in the Med Center when all the medics are healing tumblers.


If there are any other suggestions to a templatesimilar tothis one let me know I'm open to dabble a bit with it.

The only problem with builds like this are that you have most of your points in carbines and a decent amount in pistols. Yet, you can only use 1 weapon at a time...

Right. If you're going to go all the way to master Carbineer, you're going to want to MBH and pick up /sprayshot.


I am still convinced that the best jedi-hunting combo for carbs is:


MBH


Carbineer 0-4-3-4


Pistoleer 0-0-4-4


Only getting pistoleer for the defenses (states and melee)

I'll raise the same argument. Does 50 or so melee defense stop a Jedi from hitting you? Do those defenses stop a Jedi from applying states on you?


Are those better than the accuracy gain at master carbineer and the increased counterattack?

I can beyond a shadow of a doubt tell you that 4440 Fencer and 0043 Pistoleer with Master Carbineer does not have enough DEFENSE to stand up to even a mid-level Jedi.....so those Pistoleer defenses are a waste for fighting Jedi....I have first hand knowledge
