Master Carb (of course)

BH 3400 - Jedi Hunter and exetreme Carb loving.

TKA 0004 - 87 Ranged and 59 Melee Defense. Decent Unarmed Damage too.

Hey nova, could you edit the list and throw in the Ranged / Melee damage mitigation levels as well?


A MBH/MCarb Combo might be less 'balanced' than throwing in a melee profession to get the melee damage mitigation as well. So it would be nice to know which templates have that included.

I suggest using this editor: Kodan's

It's a downloadable one that has teh BH changes in it.

As a previous MBH/carb dabbler, I can honestly say the the best special (even in the game) is /sprayshot. No serious carb user should be without it.


Of your templates, it's tough to pick which one would be good against different things. For example, as it stands now, all ranged professions are hopeless against jedi with 0-0-0-4 lightsaber (~90% blocks). I'm partial to the MBH/Mcarb build, but I wonder how useful Medic will be in PvP as it stands now. Granted, post-CB, medic skills may play a larger part, but as of now you'll always die to mind damage and not the others. Even for hunting jedi, they're still going to target your mind or KD/dizzy you and hack away. Invest in Ithorian mist and Thatkillo for jedi hunts.


I see MBH/Mcarb and Novice Brawler as another possible combo. /intimidate will help out a ton for PvP and also jedi hunts. I think Carb users should also look into picking up some pistoleer def trees as well.


However, for regular PvP, its a different story. All those builds would work great for regular PvP. The fencer and/or TKA skills will help a ton for that.

I have 2 plans.


First I'm going to try


Master Carbineer - Master BH - Novice Brawler


200 Acc

ALL CARBINE SPECIALS

LLC and decent pistols stats (125 Acc, Scatter cert)

Intimidate


I'm hoping all the accuracy and intimidate will allow me to easily destroy melee templates


Master BH - Carbineer 0404 - Pistoleer 0340 - Novice Brawler


180 Carbine Acc

150 Pistol Acc

Geo Cert

Nearly all Carb Specials except Scattershot2, Wildshots, and Burstshots.

Almost negative defense cept some great state defense.

Melee Defense +42
Pistol Accuracy +115
Pistol Accuracy While Standing +15
Pistol Speed +109
Ranged Defense +42


Advantages:
I might finally be able to take out a Protector or a Spell Weaver with this
High carbine/pistol accuracy.
Capscarbine/pistol speed.
Good state defense
Good pistol/carbine specials.


Disadvantages:
I hate pistols.
No dodge
I think Mitigation is dependent on your equipped weapon, so I'll only have Mitigation II (right?)
No Medic, but I think novice Medic is overrated anyway

you get mitigation 3 from master carbineer and 0 melee mitigation.


and I have heard conflicting arguments about having to have your weapon equipped for the respective mitigation to work. Anyone have any good test results?

the Melee/Ranged Defense is not great at all, and this needs some fine tuning definitely, but i dig it.

Question,


What's more important? Ranged Defense, or Defense Vs. XXX ?


Is it a situation of:


Ranged Defense stops the attack from hitting you at all; But if it hits, then Defense vs. XXX kicks in to try and save your butt?


Trying to figure out what is really important, overall.

I'm currently working on:


Master BH - Master Carb -0/0/3/0 Pistol


Which should give something like

Carbine Accuracy - 200

Carbine Speed - 115

Pistol Accuracy - 120

Pistol Speed - 80

Ranged Mitigation 3

Ranged Defense - 49

Melee Defense - 2

General Aiming - 30

Counterattack - 105

Def Intimidate - 25

Def Knockdown - 15

Carb Accuracy Moving - 30

Carbine Aiming - 25

Def Stun - 40

Def Blind - 40

Def Dizzy - 40


Advantages:

Decent Ranged Defense

Defense to Int., KD, Stun, Diz, Blind

High Counterattack

Super-high accuracy


Disadvantages:

No Medic

Laughable Melee Defense


But hey, I already had a crapload of carb and combat xp left over from MBH, so I'm already most of the way through this.

I have Master Carbineer/BH 0-4-4-0/pistoleer 3-0-4-4.

Advantages. I can continue fighting when my buffs drop. I have a mind attack. Im capped for both pistols and carbine speed. I have a good selection of both pistol and carbine specials. Pistoleer "plugged" the "hole" in my super carbineer defenses (Stat defense, Melee defense). Nice amount of DOT's to play with

Disadvantage. It took 249 skillpoints to get mediocre defenses. No medic. Not enough pistol accuracy to consistently hit defense stackers.

Nothing is going to be perfect. But im having fun with this template.

I need a suggestion with a temporary template... I'm master armorsmith and master carbineer at the moment, i won't drop armorsmith soon, because i first need to make enough armors for my whole guild and me.



I think about dropping carbineer to 0-4-x-x and pick up bh 0-4-0-0:


Master Marksman

Artisan 4-0-0-0

Scout 4-0-0-0

Master Armorsmith

BH 0-4-0-0

Carbineer 0-4-x-x



I would be speedcapped with all my specials and have12 skillpoints remaining. thats enough for x-x-3-x OR x-x-x-3... I'm not sure what is more effective, what do you think? Burstshot2 and the defenses.. or fullautoarea2 and the accuracy while moving?
