I was terribly bored and didn't feel like logging in, hehe.

But yeah, the FAQ pretty much iterates ALL of the above.. a shame many are reluctant to refer to it.

Well I have found that most of what the posts say about carb is true, very hard to be a good solo PvPer using a carb. But i have found through many battles is that Master Carb is very effective if you use situational awareness. Examine the battle in front of you, look for targets that are distracted. If you see a guy running around with no armor on and is messing with a melee guy, thats a prime target. I have killed a good amount of melee guys who thought they didn't need armor. I spammed confussion shot and underhandshot till i dizz/Kd them, then switch to crippling shot and its all over for them. but if you notice that they have more action damage than anything else, switch to legshot3, no one ever expects anyone to go for action. Also a key tool for a carbineer is DOT carbines. If you can find a carbine with a decent action or health poison, that can be the deciding factor in many battles. I use an EE3 with a 186 strhealth poison and an EE3 witha 184action poison and i usually applyboth poisons in afight.also you have to look at your weapon. I use a 500 max dam laser carb. and that with crippling shot on a target shows stunned blind dizzy and intimidated who also has an action and health poison on them is pure pwnage. But the biggest weapon for a Carbineer is chance. Finding the right target in the right position at the right time.

Pikeman has pretty much been my only combat profession since I started this game, I've done others but always went back to Pikeman. I have been gone for quite a long timie and I'm starting on Pikeman again, I remember Pikeman was a damn good PvE Combat Profession.

Has Pikeman changed in the PvP game zone?

- I mean does Pikeman still suck at PvP?

haha, pikeman doesnt suck unless you are rich enuff for gr8 DOTS

or if u are me u can find good ones cheap, like 296 health poiso for 175K o.0

get urself a poison, and fire of the same stat, preferably mind, use area 2 to apply it, then KD, them, if u have another proff jump to it, and start to attack preferably rifleman, fencer, or stick with ur pike, i stick with my pike, my sword seems to never do damage, but, nontheless, keep hitting away, intimidate, throw a warcry maybe?, keep healed and watch them burn. . . . .

I can almost guarantee you that pikeman hasn't changed since you've been gone.

All that's changed is the availability of DoT weapons and high-damage looted weapons, which currently rule PvP. These tend to drop more often as polearms than as weapons for other classes.

So yeah, pikeman still sucks at PvP, but some pikemen do well at PvP due to these weapons.

Actualy pikeman (especialy a def stacked one *fencer 0.4.4.0*) is great suport for other melee and ranged clases in PvP. No one, i repeat no one, have so good crowd control attacks as we do. Swordsman has some veru nice sweeps as well, but since we can dizzy/stun anything with one attacks and then continue to roll on the postures and kd:s at a great speed.

In my expreience a pike/fencer/doc along with a jedi is the quickest way to beat any def stacker or melee group, you will be sending them to the ground before they know it and the pole sabers will rip them apart.

If you are a solo type of player you beter get the DOT:s tough.

Yep a pikeman running with a Jedi Knight wreaks havoc, Jedi dervishes and applies Dizzy then the pikeman sweeps to KD the whole area then the two of them deal out damage and chase down runners.

I'm on bloodfin and for PvP I use a 250 mind poison lance followed by a 100+ Mind fire and about 99% of the time I win

The one good thing about Pikeman is that while we can't solo the big things (krayts, elders, Axkva) we rule PvP in the DoTs department. Now if only I could find / afford some of those weapons. I have horrible luck when looting.

/sigh
