Thread: DH17 short carbines... what's the point?
I lovemy DH17Short Carbine (without powerup but is sliced):
AS 2.0
Min/Max 98/331
Wound 18.9%
HAM 28/29/16
Ideal +26 @ 25m
Low HAM cost and handy for "slow" carabineers
C'mon it's only about a week since DH17s became questionable. Before that, they were an excellent PvP choice for anyone who used Charge Shot 1 due to the incredibly low delay with a speed slice and speed powerup. The devs had saidCharge Shot 1was working as intended soit was popular withpeople who wouldn't normally use an exploit.
I'm still using a DH17because I'm a Master Doctor/Carbineer in a PvP guild. My doctor skills have to take priority due to the heavy workload of cures, rezzes, dragging and buffs in a PvP battle. I find myself trying to land a KD or other effectto help my side, then hitting a doctor macro that begins with /peace. At 1.2 speed this gun is ideal forfiring a specialfast, then breaking off to do another activity such as a rez or cure.
well i happen to love my DH17 short carbine.... i mean it did cost me 300k so i take very good care of it.... anyway its....
2.3 speed
150-550 dmg

Novamarine, Dh-17 is one of the best pvp gun out there!
Yes, i ment that my dh-17 kick ass against melee persons on my server seeing they hardly ever wear any armor!
When it comes to an apponent with armor ofcourse ill switch to my elite.
But this gun give me 3 times higher HAM penalty and gives less damage on an no armor apponent , thats why my dh-17 rocks ![]()

I find it shocking people still use the DH17 in PvP. I did a test with a friend of mine. I challenged him to kill me in under 5 minutes with a DH17. I buffed myself and put on my composite. He couldn't move my HAM bars.
Not even including damage mitigation, do you have any idea what composite with 50% (a low number) energy protection does to a DH17?
You high number of 500 is reduced by 50% and then 50% again. And that is AFTER the 75% reduction.
500 * 0.25 * 0.50 * 0.50 = 32 damage
And this is NOT including range damage mitigation which would significantly lower the 500.
