I dunno, higher speed reaches a point of diminished returns at Master level. You can pop just about every shot in the repetoire at the 1 second ceiling with a properly manufactured carbine.

Personally, I think a LOT of this is coming from players wanting 1 second turnarounds on CripplingShots from high damage, low speed Laser Carbines. Just my $.02, I'd rather see a general improvement to the Elite Carbine's speed anddamagebefore going the uberskillspeed route.

As far as the DPS, heck with that, we're a status effect/crowd control bunch. You want damage on target, go Rifleman, we're supposed to be the cripplers, not the cannons. With a working Dizzy and KD attack, we have a shot at becoming a force to be reckoned with.

Kettemoor has had pretty good resources for every carbine, except the Elite, where Plumbum (I think?) Iron has just been horrible and Irolunn Reactivegas is kinda average.

And who uses a carbine without a powerup to enhancethe slice you got? Most of the time, Carbineers have been all about the speed for carbines to get those ChargeShots in and its your Bounty Hunter/Carbineer hybrids that want the damage guns, since their profession adds nicely to the speeds.

At least on Kettemoor.

Oh yeah, add to that the Elite Imperial KraytFarmer's Association, better known as every two bit snowflake with a trio of ATSTs that flooded the bejeebus out of Kettemoor's krayt tissue market, plus the True Killers, who learned how to solo those buggers.

Sometimes I wonder if people can even be made happy. Yes this class is/was hurting. But we get the littlest fix and people get mad we didn't get the keys to the city. I don't think you understand how lucky we are and how hard I worked to get these special fixes *BEFORE* the combat revamp.I was literally begining to sound like a parrot. The combat revamp is when they wanted to make these types of changes. The major combat change is still coming. And before all the naysayerschime in, don't you see the pattern? The Dev focus is almost entirely on combat now. It could come as soon asPublish 8...

Don't sweat the matter, novamarine, I left this profession on my primary account just before Publish 4 under a cloud and recently returned to it with myalt accountcharacter and with the prevalence of Medical buffs and a character able to wear armor, its making a lot of difference in how I view the profession. The Publish 7 publishes are the quantum leap people who know the role of a Carbineer in battle have been waiting for. AE Dizzy attacks are going to give us an unparallelled role in the GCW as shock troops. Watch and see.

Mik... YOUR SPEED is fine... However.. the NON-BH speed problems are what make me only fire off a carbine special when i'm screwing around

My issue is simply that I dont want to wait a few publishes for carbineer to be better. Counterattack stacking is the -ONLY- thing that I have fun with on carbineer right now. So nerfing that really gives me a chance to drop it and do some FSCS grinding before I pick up........ Rifleman.

Sad but true.

Now this is not a knock to you nova you've done right by the carbineer profession but I'm sick of SOE's crap.

We were promised a combat revamp in patch 6, which got bumped up to patch 7 and now it's getting pushed back to patch 8? I'm sorry but F this crap. When should we expect a combat revamp then? Patch 12? I'm so happy to see that in patch 7we'll have those new bantha and cupa mounts, which everyone has been begging for.

I'll be happy when sony finally decides to stop dicking around actually fix what needs to be fixed in this game. Not 1 or 2 professions a patch as they seem to be doing but ALL OF THEM. We all need help and when you see crap like "dodge enhancing food now makes you get hit less often" in the "major features" it just steams me. Of course it should make you get hit less often that's what it should have done the first f'ing time you put it out, you dumb soe bastards. That isn't a "major feature," that's something that shouldn't have even been an issue. Perhaps if SOE didn't have to spend all their time fixing stuff from the last patch in the new one we'd actually see some real positive changes around here.

That Nova is why can never be happy, because we all know this stuff should never have been a problem in the first place and it sure as hell shouldn't have taken them this long to fix.

Wrong, the Combat Revamp is a multi-stage process and they are close to being on schedule, better review the post from TH.

At the same time, I hope you get in the WoW beta so you can complain over there so the rest of us can enjoy SWG.

You've done fine Nova, its just that remember this is really frustrating for us. Pikemen and Carbineer are the only classes to have been ignored for so long. I've watched them for months make TKM better every patch, make rifleman better every patch, revamp chef Twice, give smuggler a role, all the while they've failed to recnogize just how bad combat is in this game and that its soley dominated by 2-3 classes. We want our right to own the battlefield and we want it now! I've been patient though and I'll continue to be, I just hope SOE has finally realized how important these combat changes are.

And to whom said we are supposed to be a status effect class.... Look at our titles, and look at two important tree's in our profession.

Assault Tactics and Counter Insurgeny. We are the grit of the fighting force out there. Adapative weapons good at a variety of ranges and circumstances.

Now if only they'd just give us a stun carbine....
