C'mon... I can't wait to get a Bantha mount. Ok i like Legs (my Kaduu) fine but I've been hurting for a Bantha mount ever since I signed upp for this game.

Just as long as they bugtest the changes to carbineer this time I'm happy with what they are offering us.

Hmm... there is actually a lot of stuff going on here that I think I can put in some imput for...

First off, to Nova. Forget if the gripers keep complaining, you're doing great. You got in the Devs faces (like you said, acting almost like a parrot), and they listened to you. Nearly all the credit for these fixes to carbineer go to you. /handshake

I don't see how you all fail to realize that these fixes are very good. AoE dizzy effect? State effects on all of our specials fixed? And on top of that, we are going to have an AoE bleed! That we weren't even expecting!

Carbineer gets a lot of help, a lot of bonuses and fixed specials, and on top of that, defense stacking will be constricted! That will be helping us even more by bringing them somewhat down to our level. I'm looking quite forward to Publish 7.

The only thing I think we need now is lower HAM costs. Much lower. This still needs to be addressed asap, I think. Other things that it would be nice to have but itsn't essential (such as the HAM) would be: A bit better speed, more carbines to chose from, and some better defenses. All other combat professions (with the exception of BH and Commando) have much better 'Defense Against [state]' and we only get +25 Intimidate Defense and +15 KD Defense. Not iminant, but I still think we should get a bit more.

About carbine speed... yes, I do think it is low, but there are ways around it. You can have a total of +25 per mod. +60 carbine speed plus +25 carbine speed brings you to +85 carbine speed.

3.9 speed Stocked Elite with 2x cripple modifier: 3.9x2=7.8 7.8x0.15=1.17

I'd say spamming cripple every 1.2 seconds is pretty nice. Since you should be using a +33 min damage power-up for PvP anyway, throw a +16 to speed on there, too (+33%mindamage and +16%speed).

3.9x3.27 3.3x2=6.6 6.6x0.15=.99

Now, that is with a +25 carbine speed mod from clothing/armor, a 3.9 speed stocked carbine, and a +33min/+16speed power up. I'm sure there will be variations for each person. Maybe your stocked Elite is only 3.8 speed, and you can only get a +21 carbine speed mod. You can always use the new -.5 speed stocks, too. For your strictly PvP weapons, you should be using Krayt Tissue in making them anyway.

So, with +33min/+16speed power ups and some good carbine speed tapes/attachments (and Krayt Tissue, I guess), you should be spamming Cripple at 1.0 anyway.

All I am saying is that there are ways around it. I still agree with you all that our speed is to low. At Master, with a +5 speed attachment, Riflemen can spam all of their specials at 1.0 with a 6.8 speed T21. Pistoleers have a higher speed mod then us, plus their weapons speed is lower. So our speed is crap compared to other combat professions, but you can find ways around it.

I can't say that was just my two credits... it was more like eight...

NOVAMARINE - Here's my appreciation story. I was switching species, ditching wookiee, right before publish 6. The CS nerf w/o the CS2 fix just killed me, i stored my carbines and started up pistols/smuggler. Made novice pistoleer already. Let me tell you, Pistoleers have almost as many broken specials and they got nothing but an uber-leet but probably very tough to get stun pistol. We got, what, 6 specials fixed? That's so much dev luv in these dev-poor times. We should be very very happy. Nova, for whatever part you had in this thanks.

I've already taken the old carbines out of the bank, squirted some oil on them, called my weaponsmith asking about the new stocks, I'm even going to make a quick run as an IMP to get the useful stock and ??? some other carbine component loot.

You had me at AOE Dizzy you big lug. That had better #@($)*@!)*(&! be a sticky, decent dizzy btw '

TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE EVER COMPLAINED ABOUT ACTION SHOT 2 - while I'm here telling ppl not to whine, I should mention that every single one of you lugheads who ever complained about actionshot2 being 'broken' (meaning not doing what it is described as doing) you should really, really shut up. Actionshot2 is one of the most damn useful carbine specials as it works right now, and it's a hell of a lot better than it's described. If they're making it EVEN BETTER then we should all be very, very happy.

Come on, you've been down so long you don't know what up looks like anymore. If they do what they say they'll do, this is a lucky day for us.

Thanks for all the help, Nova. I've been one of the biggest gripers on this board, but I'm glad you're here to keep people on the positive side. I've left Carbineer for now, but I expect to return in time for Publish 7. All my weapons are safely locked away, along with my heavy composite suit w/ +80 speed attachments .

Don't fret Nova, I was about a hair's breadth away from ditching carbineer when I saw this little tidbit today. GREAT JOB!!! Even without CS2 working an area dizzy will make CS1 tons more effective than it ever was. Just make sure you start parroting "Hey, while your in there messin' with CS2 make sure you fix the KD on it too, thanks." That might do the trick.

Sometimes I wonder if people can even be made happy. Yes this class is/was hurting. But we get the littlest fix and people get mad we didn't get the keys to the city. I don't think you understand how lucky we are and how hard I worked to get these special fixes *BEFORE* the combat revamp.I was literally begining to sound like a parrot. The combat revamp is when they wanted to make these types of changes. The major combat change is still coming. And before all the naysayerschime in, don't you see the pattern? The Dev focus is almost entirely on combat now. It could come as soon asPublish 8...

Now this is not a knock to you nova you've done right by the carbineer profession but I'm sick of SOE's crap.

We were promised a combat revamp in patch 6, which got bumped up to patch 7 and now it's getting pushed back to patch 8? I'm sorry but F this crap. When should we expect a combat revamp then? Patch 12? I'm so happy to see that in patch 7we'll have those new bantha and cupa mounts, which everyone has been begging for.

I'll be happy when sony finally decides to stop dicking around actually fix what needs to be fixed in this game. Not 1 or 2 professions a patch as they seem to be doing but ALL OF THEM. We all need help and when you see crap like "dodge enhancing food now makes you get hit less often" in the "major features" it just steams me. Of course it should make you get hit less often that's what it should have done the first f'ing time you put it out, you dumb soe bastards. That isn't a "major feature," that's something that shouldn't have even been an issue. Perhaps if SOE didn't have to spend all their time fixing stuff from the last patch in the new one we'd actually see some real positive changes around here.

That Nova is why can never be happy, because we all know this stuff should never have been a problem in the first place and it sure as hell shouldn't have taken them this long to fix.

Wrong, the Combat Revamp is a multi-stage process and they are close to being on schedule, better review the post from TH.

At the same time, I hope you get in the WoW beta so you can complain over there so the rest of us can enjoy SWG.

Oh please, at the rate they're going the combat revamp will be done by publish 20 and you know, there is just something about waiting a year for the game to finally work right that bugs me. They should just breakdown and stop with the meaningless changes and focus 100% on getting professions fixed.

I'm sorry if my desire to see meaningful changes take place bothers you. Also, perhaps I don't want to play WoW? Ever think of that? Maybe I want to play a starwars game where the different professions do what they're intended to do. I know it's a crazy thought, but I've seen it before in other games where stuff does what it's suppossed.

But you know what fine, I'll shut up about it. Maybe there is going to be a ton more changes made in publish 7 with nifty combat fixes for classes that really need it. Perhaps divine light will shine upon the devs and they'll stop dicking around. I guess we shall see.

HEY, they don't want to get out of BETA 4 too quick. The penny pushers want to hold off on BETA 5 while they gather up our $15/month

/sarcasm off

Really, TH announced a 3 phase process to the Combat Revamp, so don't make things up to complain about as there is PLENTY of FACTUAL things to cry about with SOE.
